Extended Absence Anticipated For Cavs’ Evan MobleyCavaliers big man Evan Mobley is expected to be sidelined for an extended period after spraining his left ankle on Tuesday against the Celtics, league sources tell Shams Charania, Joe Vardon, and Jason Lloyd of The Athletic. As The Athletic’s reporters note, the Cavs haven’t issued a formal update on Mobley’s status beyond ruling him out for Wednesday’s contest in Atlanta. An official timeline likely won’t be determined until the “significant” swelling of his ankle has subsided, per Charania, Vardon, and Lloyd. However, one source tells The Athletic that “it will be some time” before Mobley is able to return, while another said he’ll be “out a while.”
Mobley suffered the injury in the third quarter on Tuesday when he landed awkwardly following a made dunk (video link via NBA.com). He reportedly left the arena on crutches after the Cavaliers erased a 22-point deficit and completed a dramatic comeback win over the NBA’s top team.

Tatum took NINETEEN dribbles on last night's final possession.
NOBODY else touched the ball.
NINETEEN dribbles in NINETEEN seconds, all for a fallaway, contested shot attempt!
And The Idiot claims he TRIED to call a timeout with 4.6 seconds left but the officials didn't see him!

The Refs don't miss this he could have screamed loud they would have heard or seen him. Mazz was ok with Tatum dribbling 19 seconds. He makes the shot and he gets headlines for his MVP quest. Mazz has been promoting Tatum for weeks. In legal terms this is a conspiracy.

The Celtic team that showed up in the 4Q against the short-handed Cavs is very much the team I had winning 41 games this season.
Soft.... overconfident.... lacking mental toughness and effective leadership (on and off the court) in the crunch.
It wasn't that they lost.... it is how they lost.... and what that sez about how they will fare in the POs.
Will they be more like the 41 win team (I predicted) in the post season against quality opposition?
Stay tuned.....
Pud
you had the team winning 41 games, yet they will win 60+ games, maybe 65 games clearly your take on the team is completely wrong. please predict the team will lose in rd 1 of the playoffs so that they win the championship You've heard my story.... and I'm stick'n to my convictions.
Clearly my take on this team is completely mine and facing the prospects of being completely wrong doesn't bother me at all.
In the meantime, regular season wins don't mean squat.... so stay tuned for the playoffs!

Mazz couldn't handle the post game criticism so he comes up with excuse..... he tried (but no reply) to call a TO when he saw things heading south!
And yes Mazz was perfectly fine watching Mr Ruffles do his thing, showing off his MVP chops.... until he began getting 2nd guessed!
But alas.... no one pays Mazz any mind!

.... or ^^ how about this guy, assuming that he is bonded out?
I'm feel'n generous today..... your choice!

Rondo, who had a court hearing last week in Jackson County, Indiana, for his gun charge as well as misdemeanor drug paraphernalia and marijuana charges, turned down a plea agreement offer from prosecutors and is now scheduled to stand trial on April 25, according to court records. Bobby Manning: Last 2 min report: No call was correct ruling upon the challenge of Tatum-Garland contact. Jump ball appropriate. The game clock expiring on the jump ball was correct as well. – via Twitter RealBobManning Officiating, Referees, Darius Garland, Jayson Tatum, Boston Celtics, Cleveland Cavaliers
There it is - not on the refs. Now, perhaps, we can shift the blame where it belongs - to the players!!

The 140-88 drubbing featured 10 3-pointers in the first quarter and a 61-17 run over an 18-minute span that sealed the Warriors’ fate by halftime. “That’s what we used to do to teams,” Curry, the maestro of similar scoring runs during Golden State’s march to four championships in eight seasons, said from his locker after the game. “It’s kind of demoralizing.” Boston’s victory on Sunday gave it three wins of at least 50 points this season, already the most in NBA history with over a month remaining in the regular season. Meanwhile, the Celtics’ point differential of plus-243 during their 11-game win streak also set a league record. Boston leads the league in offensive efficiency, is second in the league in defense and is putting up historic point differentials. – via ESPN Stephen Curry, Boston Celtics, Golden State Warriors
With Holiday and White, two of the league’s best individual on-ball defenders, in the starting backcourt, Boston can attack teams in ways few others can defensively. Overall, the Celtics have blitzed a total of just 47 ball screens this season, per Second Spectrum’s tracking data (1.1% of time, the second-lowest total in the league). When the starting five is out there, they’ve blitzed only five ball screens all season (0.66%). “The amount of confidence that they play with, and how every single guy on their team has bought into their role,” Cavaliers coach JB Bickerstaff said before Tuesday’s game of what has impressed him about the Celtics. “They know who they are. They know how talented they are, but they allow each other to be successful in their own spaces.” – via ESPN JB Bickerstaff, Boston Celtics, Cleveland Cavaliers

Back to Simmons:
Games played - 332 games in 8 years - average 41.5 per year - half a season Games missed - 324 games in 8 years - average 40.5 per year - half a season
Total salary in 8 years - 163 million total - 20.375 mill per season One more year at 40.3 mill - UFA after 2025
Overall, the guy taken two picks over Jaylen Brown has averaged $490,964 dollars PER GAME he's played in his career.
Hopefully, he's done after next year.....................these numbers are staggering
For arguments sake, let's say he's out next year, too. It's possible with a back:
Now the numbers are 203 million in 9 years or 22.5 mill per year Which would jump his per game figure to $611, 445........................wow

Big game tonight, if you care about the regular season! If not, I hear they're showing a Lawrence Welk special, on me tv! I used to watch Lawrence Welk with my grandmother back in the mid 70's...She would have one scotch on the rocks, and we would eat a dinner on TV stands...then I would go hang out with my highschool friends...fond memories... On non-Lawrence Welk nights we ate at the table and she would grill me about the day's news, big on the Kennedy's, my grandfather and her went to a bunch of functions of theirs before he passed...up and coming Irish Catholics... Used to watch the Sox in the summer on a tv that we put outside under the maple tree...Framingham...

... that collapsed against the undermanned Cavs.
In that sense, win/lose/draw, it's a meaningful regular season game.
