My list has been picked over good by Lakers, Raptors etal ... I may have to become a Laker fan if they sign any more of my favs. They added Prince and draft pick Max Lewis to Hachimura & Vanderbilt earlier and just robbed Vincent from Miami. They resign Bamba and I'm gonna be in a quandary!
LAL adds names we recognize and Brad adds unheard-ovs like Jordan Walsh & Oshae Brissett ... Who? Assuming they sign Maxwell Lewis to a rookie-minimum contract, the Lakers will be right up against the luxury tax line with at least one roster spot still to fill, tweets Yossi Gozlan of HoopsHype. However, they’ll have plenty of breathing room below the first tax apron ($172.3MM), which will be their hard cap for the season.
Drewski may get lucky with that "sit & wait" attitude ... that's what he was hoping for to get us Wood but as you recognize, where is all the interest? His shortcomings must overwhelmed his offense to remain this ignored.
Grant taking the QO after wanting $20mm would be quite the upset ... surely someone will do a S&T for him eventually. No sense in us keeping him as Mazz won't play him but for $12mm or less it makes sense to match and use as a trade asset later.
PS: You must be disappointed that Madar won't get here in time for SL ... maybe he shows us something come training camp

Madar? He could have been here if Stevens really wanted him.. Ya know money talks. Speaking of talking.. I was ''parroting'' a couple posters here. Lots easier than coming up with an original thought.. . Ah but i do have one.. WYC hires his fellowshipping buddy Cohen to pay Grant an 4.5 mil in hush money under the table. Cohen of course will be the fall guy and by the time the general public or our fast paced court system finds out we'll heve 4 years of flyin new banner.. A well proven working method.. LA has no Cape and the sidewalks are already full of freeloaders.. Good luck.

Miles Bridges Signs Hornets’ Qualifying Offerby Rory MaherRestricted free agent Miles Bridges hasn’t been receiving the types of contract offers he was hoping for from the Hornets, so has signed his $7,921,301 qualifying offer in order to become an unrestricted free agent next year, sources tell ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski (Twitter links). As ESPN’s Bobby Marks tweets, signing the one-year qualifying offer would give Bridges the power to veto trades. However, if he were to approve a trade, the team that acquires him would lose his Bird rights. Shams Charania of The Athletic hears (via Twitter) that a final contract offer was presented on Sunday before talks broke down, but he doesn’t clarify whether that offer came from Charlotte or Bridges’ camp — or perhaps both.

just a couple of thoughts:
Did the Lakers use the full MLE on someone or a sign and trade?
I don't understand why they they would be capped at the first apron if not
my all over payed free agents so far this off-season
1) Little Freddie who got $40M next season , not worth $30M for me
2) Grant and his 5 year $160M deal, again about $10M more than his true pay grade based on similar type players
3)B. Brown at $22M....no thanks $15M tops for a glue guy
4) old man Joe ingles who snatched an $11M deal, that's just stealing plain and simple.
i am sure there are otehrs who should be on the list, but those four stood out as I looked over the list of signings.

They used most or all their $12.5mm MLE for Vincent ...
To their credit they moved quickly to get their targeted players before others had a chance and were done in 48 hours. That's a plan well executed and not reacting to others or too slowly netting bottom of barrel pickings!

Celtics sign ex-Raptors guard Dalano Banton to 2-year deal By Souichi Terada | sterada@masslive.com
The Celtics have made another small move in free agency to shore up their roster. This time, they’ve agreed to a two-year contract with ex-Raptors guard Dalano Banton, according to The Athletic’s Shams Charania.
As expected, the Celtics haven’t made many splashy moves in free agency. They have, however, shored up some spots on their roster for depth purposes. Banton also brings significant size to the Celtics as he’s listed at 6-foot-7 despite being a guard.
Banton was drafted 46th overall by the Raptors in the 2021 draft as the hometown kid suited up for the past two seasons in Toronto. He has played in 95 career NBA games across two seasons, averaging 3.7 points, 1.8 rebounds and 1.4 assists per game.
Banton should at least compete for a roster spot, and he does fill some of the Celtics’ needs at guard. At his size, there’s also some value to being able to switch on the perimeter. While Banton likely won’t see consistent playoff minutes or even in the regular season, the 23-year-old shores up the team’s depth and should be able to eat regular-season minutes.
Admin Comment: I thought that's why Pritchard hasn't been traded
It’s a similar signing to the Celtics’ first move of free agency this summer in ex-Pacers wing Oshae Brissett, who’s also listed at 6-foot-7. Brissett and Banton will likely fill different roles, but the C’s roster lacked players at that size. Now, the Celtics at least get some depth even if the signings don’t move the needle a ton.
Current Roster:
Ball Handlers: White, Brogdon, Pritchard, Banton
Wings: Tatum, Brown, Brissett, Hauser, Champagnie (NG), Walsh (DP)
Bigs: Porzingis, Horford, R Williams, Kornet (NG)
2-ways: JD Davison, Unfilled, Unfilled (Banton seems like a candidate for one 2-way)
Unsigned: Grant Williams, Blake Griffin, Kabengele (No longer 2-way eligible but s/b signed)
SL Players of Interest: Azubuike, Balcerowski, Jay Scrubb
ME Vets: Valentine, Snell
DP = Draft Pick
NG = Non-guaranteed Contract

Bol Bol has just been waived! At least that's what I read.
The Magic have waived forward/center Bol Bol, the team announced today in a press release (Twitter link).
Bol had been on an expiring contract, with a non-guaranteed $2.2MM salary for 2023/24. That money was originally on track to become guaranteed if the big man remained on the roster through June 30, but he and the team agreed to push back the deadline.
The new guarantee date was Tuesday so Orlando decided to cut Bol before locking in his $2.2MM for the coming season.

Another team interested in Grant pivots to another player with their NTMLE:
The Mavericks were also said to have interest in restricted free agent forward Grant Williams. Landing Thybulle would presumably take them out of the mix for Williams, but it’s unclear if Dallas would pivot to an offer sheet for the Celtics RFA if the Blazers were to match on Thybulle.

This writer for NBC Sports Boston hasn't done his homework when it comes to the C's cap situation. He thinks we have a "non-taxpayer MLE" to offer Grant ... Ugh!
Report: Celtics seeking first-rounder in Grant Williams sign-and-trade Can the Celtics avoid losing Grant Williams for nothing this offseason? By Darren Hartwell
If the Boston Celtics lose Grant Williams this offseason, they at least want something to show for it.
Williams officially becomes a restricted free agent Thursday, meaning teams can give him an offer sheet and acquire him if the Celtics don't match that offer within two days. Boston reportedly has been exploring sign-and-trade possibilities involving Williams, however, and the team is "seeking a first-round pick" as compensation in that trade, The Athletic's Jared Weiss reported Tuesday.
Weiss noted it's rare for teams to give up a first-round pick for a role player like Williams, so it's possible the Celtics are just setting the bar high with the hope of getting a decent return if Williams leaves the team. The Atlanta Hawks, Charlotte Hornets, Dallas Mavericks, New York Knicks and Washington Wizards all have interest in Williams, per Weiss, so perhaps the C's can leverage that market to land a decent draft pick in return.
If the Celtics don't find a partner for a sign-and-trade, they still could decide to keep Williams by offering him the midlevel exception ($12.4 million for 2023-24) or matching any offer made by another team. While the C's have just $7 million in cap space before hitting the second tax apron for 2023-24, they could free up salary by moving Malcolm Brogdon and his $22.5 million cap hit, or just keep their entire core intact and stomach the tax bill with the hopes of raising Banner 18 this season.
If Boston does keep Williams, however, the team would be committing significant money to four big men -- Kristaps Porzingis, Al Horford, Robert Williams and Grant Williams -- and be light on depth at wing and guard, especially if it finds a Brogdon trade partner. If the goal is a more balanced roster, the Celtics should let Williams walk and replace him with a lower-cost backup big man while seeking additional depth in the backcourt.
Either way, expect Brad Stevens and his staff to explore all options to either retain Williams or recoup some value if he moves on this summer.

Mavs Landing Grant Williams In Three-Team Sign-And-Trade by Rory Maher
The Mavericks, Celtics and Spurs are finalizing a three-team trade that will send restricted free agent forward Grant Williams to Dallas, sources tell Shams Charania of The Athletic (Twitter links).
According to Charania, the Spurs will receive Reggie Bullock and an unprotected 2030 pick swap from the Mavs, while the Celtics will receive multiple second-round picks.
Charania hears Williams will receive a four-year, $54MM contract as part of the transaction, while ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski has heard (via Twitter) it’s $53MM. The deal is fully guaranteed and does not feature any options, sources tell Michael Scotto of HoopsHype (Twitter link).
The Celtics and Mavericks will each receive two second-rounders as part of the trade, Wojnarowski reports (Twitter link). According to Adam Himmselsbach of The Boston Globe, the Celtics will also receive a 2025 second-round pick swap (Twitter link).
Interestingly, the reported figure Williams will receive is the value of the non-taxpayer mid-level exception, which will be worth $53.34MM over four years. However, since the Mavs are acquiring him via sign-and-trade, they will preserve their MLE and still have “strong interest” in using it to sign restricted free agent Matisse Thybulle to an offer sheet, per Marc Stein (Twitter links). Dallas will be hard-capped at the first luxury tax apron due to the sign-and-trade, Stein notes.
ESPN’s Bobby Marks has a detailed list of the cap complications from the deal (via Twitter). The Mavs are approximately $9MM below the first apron, so they’ll have to clear some additional cap space to have access to the full MLE, which starts at $12.4MM in 2023/24.
They could open up an additional $3.4MM — the exact difference between those two figures — by releasing JaVale McGee and using the stretch provision on his contract, Marks adds. Dallas will also generate a $10.5MM trade exception, equivalent to Bullock’s outgoing salary.
The Celtics, meanwhile, will create a $6.2MM trade exception of their own, which is half of Williams’ projected salary. It would have cost Boston $40MM against the luxury tax to pay Williams’ salary, per Marks.
As for the Spurs, they’ll use some of their cap room to accommodate Bullocks’ $10.5MM salary, according to Marks, who notes they’ll have about $12.5MM in space remaining after the deal.
