Btw, my young son got a walk off single with bases loaded to win his AAA game today...13-12 sluggfest, came back from down 1-10...got mobbed by the team, then ran right to his grandmother and gave her a big hug, before the handshake/team meeting thing...special stuff...

8 in a row for the Sox Pud.
That lofty payroll the Dodgers has always doesn't buy a ticket to the world series.

Booker lighting it up with 16pts already in Q1 ... who's better: Booker, Murray, Tatum or Brown? Now that's a brain teaser ... whoa. Murray? not even in the discussion imo.

Theres a difference between best player to ever play for the Celtics and best Celtic ever. Bird prob is the best player to ever play for the Celtics. You just cant argue with back-to-back-to-back (3 peat) as NBA league MVP. But Pierce is the best Celtic ever. Best ever players to wear Celtics green: Bird, Russell, KG, Pierce, Tatum/Brown (its splitting hairs) Best ever Celtics: Pierce, Bird, Russell, Tatum/Brown (its splitting hairs) How is PP a better C than Russ or Bird?

I think Tatum is on a level with Pierce but Bird? not yet. maybe never. Tatum is awesome. when he gets his, he is Brid's equal. when Tatum is not on top of his game, he is not a great complimentary player making others better. when Tatum is not on his game, he is forcing things, trying to get on top of his game. it does not always work out. Bird made others great

That's funny stuff...but the Padres let the Dodgers back up off of the mat last night...losing a squeaker 1-2... If I remember correctly, "Oh No" Soto (.220) had a chance to tie the game in the 9th with a runner on 3rd and 1 out.... and he rolled out weakly to 1B.
Pods may regret that meme next time they face Kershaw!

Yep, Pud...that's when we should have tied it at least...
Pathetic though with this lineup to let it get to that point even...
Rubber game late this afternoon here...on ESPN...
Hopefully we can trade Boegaerts and Soto for Ohtani mid-season...

Not yet but if his play continues at it's current pace this Playoffs then he may be considered back to his 20-21' self after the long layoff. That would propel him into top 10-15 PGs and with guys like Harden, Paul, Lowry, Irving, Holiday and Lillard getting long in the tooth maybe top 5 if he continues to play well next season.
I always remember Ainge saying Murray set the bar for consecutive threes ... 79-100 only to have that broken a few days later by Buddy Hield with 85-100. But Murray's more than just a shooter like Hield.

Wasn't Eck a big part of that team?
Edit: maybe 10 yrs later but was gonna add Catfish Hunter (ended up with Yankees) ... Commish stopped the Sox from getting Rudi & Fingers. Blue went to Yankees a yr earlier as a FA released due to violations of his contract by A's.
The A's in 1973:
... Oakland Athletics’ owner Charlie Finley had ripped the proverbial rug out from under Major League Baseball’s feet, by selling left fielder and first baseman Joe Rudi and relief pitcher Rollie Fingers to the Boston Red Sox for $1 million each, as well as Cy Young Award winner Vida Blue to the New York Yankees for $1.5 million. Since the Red Sox were in Oakland for a three-game series, Fingers and Rudi simply walked under the stands, over to the visitor clubhouse, and suited up – enabling McWilliams to capture the short-lived Red Sox career of Fingers.
Charlie Finley's sale of Joe Rudi and Rollie Fingers to the Boston Red Sox, and Vida Blue to the New York Yankees, caused an uproar in the baseball community. (Doug McWilliams / National Baseball Hall of Fame)

Evidently Eck did not play with the A's until the mid eighties...per wikipedia...and i don't thin Eck was a closer until he came back to the Sox for his second stint... Heading out to practice, but here is the link en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dennis_Eckersley
