If Samanic isn't given some kind of NBA contract soon, the C's will lose him ... he's that good!
When Samanic is on the bench it's Kabengele carrying the load as big and he's been very effective rebounding, blocking shots and spreading the court with his 3-pt shooting but nowhere near as good at 3's as Samanic.
Stevens must be hoping that a ton of guys will be made available which will drive the cost down and provide multiple options to find what we need. Trouble is, few have been made available so far and Mannix doesn't think we will see the massive dumping of talent in hopes of getting into the top 2 lottery spots. About 10 days left to get lucky ... could be one of those season's where the early birds get all the best worms. Waiting could come back to bite Stevens.
While I agree 100% on moving Samanic up, I see him more as replacement for Jackson on the big club. The reality is Luka had two years to show he was an NBA player at SA and then a time on the lowly Knicks farm team as well. He also was in camp here and didn't stand out against real NBA players. so he is that good...in the G-league maybe be a fairer statement.. I want him over Jackson everyday on this team all day long however, because there could be more upside long term. He looks very slow, every time I watch him! Agree he's better than Jackson!

Some of the posters have this "ideal guy" they want. If the player or coach is not their "ideal" then no matter what that coach or player does, it's not going to be good enough. Look no farther than how some posters think of Jayson Tatum, to see how right you are! BARF.....!!!
fiercy and KyMama are quite the dominating and dynamic posting duo here at this obscure Celtic forum.
This twosome form an unholy and unshakeable mutual admiration society, so to speak, full of Celtic passion, wisdom and logic that the rest of us, with far less time on our hands, can only hope to possess and display.
Whom do these two most valued posters most remind us of?

Would an Olynyk reunion interest the Celtics? Unlike some of the other players on this list, he’s not on an expiring contract, but only $3 million of his deal is guaranteed for the 2023-24 season. Based on my calculations, a package of Gallinari, Griffin and Jackson would fall just shy of reaching the NBA trade limit for matching Olynyk’s salary, so the Celtics would need to add further money to the offer. That could be a deal breaker for Boston, which would then need to include Payton Pritchard, Sam Hauser or Kornet in the swap. – via Jay King @ The Athletic Trade, Kelly Olynyk, Payton Pritchard, Sam Hauser, Boston Celtics, Utah Jazz
The Athletic’s Shams Charania reported again Monday that the Celtics have shown interest in Spurs center Jakob Poeltl. Jared Weiss recently broke down that possibility. Here are several other power forwards and centers who could be available at the deadline for one reason or another. Keep in mind: By combining the contracts of Danilo Gallinari and Justin Jackson with future picks, the Celtics could absorb almost $10.5 million in returning salary. They could add Blake Griffin to that same package of players to take back almost $12.8 million. Any target making more than that would require the Celtics to part ways with at least one player a little tougher to move on from. – via Jay King @ The Athletic Trade, Blake Griffin, Danilo Gallinari, Jakob Poeltl, Justin Jackson, Boston Celtics, San Antonio Spurs
With Al Horford and Robert Williams signed beyond this season and capable of handling the vast majority of the team’s frontcourt minutes if they are healthy entering the playoffs, the Celtics don’t necessarily have an urgent need in the frontcourt. Still, they are expected to scan the league for another big man as the trade deadline approaches, according to league sources who were granted anonymity so they could speak freely. Though Luke Kornet has been solid this season, the Celtics are expected to evaluate options to shore up the depth behind Horford and Williams while giving Joe Mazzulla additional lineup flexibility. – via Jay King @ The Athletic Joe Mazzulla, Trade, Al Horford, Luke Kornet, Robert Williams, Boston Celtics

it's bizarre. Like the initial post that preceded Ky's, has quite an elementary based thought process. I don't understand why he keeps posting here if he is against the most basic principles of what this board is all about. Ideas, arguments, thoughts, opinions. I don't understand. I truly do not understand. Ky should have known better.

He sure did! If not for a sprained ankle, he may have won 12 rings in 13 years! There's a 2 part documentary coming on netflix Feb. 8th called the Legend, about his life.

Mj won ncaa, Olympics then scored 60 on us first round. Was rook of year. Hell of a shoe deal right in there. Didn't we win Olympics that year? Or was that the sabonis year? Maybe cause John Thompson was coach.

1984 Gold Medal. Robert Montgomery Knight coach.
My first trip to LA, I saw that team play 4 times.
Knight was, ah, colorful, the time I sat right behind the bench. Gem #1 - "Wayman (Tisdale), get your ass over here." Gem #2 - "Alford, you suck, you friggin' suck."
If he coached the 1988 team instead of the racist Thompson, we win another gold. NO WAY Knight loses an Olympic game. That 1988 team was poorly constructed. By Thompson. He cut all the shooters............and paid for it

But as most pointed out then Ainge is only collecting first round picks, so I find it unlikely he'll do his little Bro Stevens a solid. But I still think Kelly gives them what they wanted from the Gallo Signing, just not sure the cost to get him is worth it.
