White and Brogdon combined for 40 points , and White had some big defensive plays!

Brown in Overtime: 4-5 FTs 1 Three 1 Two-pointer 9pts Stepped up in OT. Foul trouble limited him the 4th. This would not have gone to OT if Brown wasn't in foul trouble. Lakers are just not that good, a flawed team!

Can't believe what he did when the buzzer sounded did not merit a tech. Such a crybaby for someone considered the GOAT.

But you were blaming Brown for losing in the 4th because he was in foul trouble. And he was defending in the paint unlike Tatum!

I didn't blame Brown. What I said was Brown being out because of foul trouble is hurting the Cs. That's not blaming Brown. Check page 2 of this thread because before the game started, I said this will be the Jaylen Brown game. I expected JB to have a big game and he didn't disappoint.

This should be the JB game. I know he's pissed for missing those 2 FTs. He'll take it out on the Lakers. Here it is!

Hurting C's in 4th and blaming him for being behind are the same thing to me ... no explanation needed.

James should have been T'd up for his immature tantrum on the court in a National TV broadcast. Did any Celtic players learn anything from this display about the importance of these games vs your biggest rivals in the NBA? I certainly hope seeing LeBron make such a big deal out of a missed call will stay with Celtics players and help them understand why these games are important not only to themselves but the franchise and their fans.
But that wasn't where it ended ... Beverley who was having a career night ruined that moment with this one that earned him a Technical.

Looks like if the Celts win their next game, Joe is headed to Utah to be coach of the east All-Stars.

The Celtics can lose every game except the two against the FAKERS!!! This game is never a scheduled loss or a time to sit stars.

Maybe refs thought it was just marginal contact, that's why they didn't call a foul on JT.
Still nice to get away with one as we're so used to seeing the refs doing injustice to the Celts in the past.

Critics usually opine that the refs shouldn't decide games and let them play in the final two minutes. That's what these refs did and they should be commended for doing just that. Besides, we never get those calls so why should anyone else?

Why were we down in the 1st half ... because Brown was tagged with 5 PFs playing both ends of the court or because of this:
The All-Star usually saves some of his best work for the Lakers but he found himself all out of sorts for much of the high profile matchup. He missed eight of his first ten shots including all four from beyond the arc, mustering just [8] points in the first 30 minutes of the game, a rarity for a guy averaging over 31 points per night. The slow start dug Boston a double-digit hole in the second half that they were able to recover once Tatum woke up, with the All-Star scoring 15 points in the final six minutes of the third quarter including nine straight at one point to erase the Lakers lead. He finished the night just 8-of-25 from the field but went 11-of-12 from the foul line.
Word to the wise: Get down off your soapbox and stop trying to make one star Celtic player into something that he's not.

With all the threes we were missing and no Rob to harness offensive rebounds for 2nd chance ops, the C's were one and done vs the bigger Lakers. And their bench ... the Lakers, were much better and more athletic than what the C's had, forcing Mazz to shorten his rotation to just 7 players by the 3rd quarter ... the starters and Brogdon as well as Kornet. Sure Hauser & Pritcher saw the court but for just 5 minutes each. Brad needs to move on from Pritcher & maybe even Hauser as well as Jackson. Griffin could be the Senior Senator advising the roster come playoffs but he'll only have value in the locker room and not much out on the court where it counts. We need a big, a shooter, a guy who can create his own offense and a forward to spell both Tatum and Brown. Once another roster spot is opened, I proposed signing Valentine and Samanic. Val is a high +/- guy with a decent 3-ptr and vet experience. Simancic is that 7 foot center that hits threes on a regular basis and can defend the rim and rebound - a future Al Horford type. We have Kabengele & Davison on 2-ways but of those two, only Kabby is worthy of a call-up. Davison is shooting a pitiful 20% from three. He'd be a waste of a roster spot and money come playoff time. Meanwhile, get Reid, Collins, Willy Hermangomez or any big that can run, rebound and protect the rim and a long wing that can bring 10-20pts on any given night. I like Jalen McDaniels as I've already written here or even his brother Jaden. It's hard to find wings like McDaniels that have size and scoring ability for less than $8-10M. Jalen's under contract for around $2M. Maybe Vanderbilt for Danny's Pritchard or even P J Washington.
These upgrades may be cheap by contract but costly per draft capital but we need better depth - dependable depth. Just do it Brad!
