What a game. Butler said after the game, "they wanted to embarrass us, and they did."
I wouldn't poke the bear too much with this guy. We can't give him the Kyrie treatment.
To quote another line from one of the best movies of all time:
"No no no, don't do that. If you shoot him, you'll just make him mad!!"

hey eff off SMELLVIS lol Just don’t take another little temper tantrum like you did last year and threaten to quit the board because nobody likes you! Lol Looking like maybe you are getting alzheimers as well...hard time remembering properly... A great Celtic victory and you have to come in here dissing Derek White being with his wife and newborn... dude if you stop being such a dick and actually read what I wrote you would realize I never wrote any of that. I was in here enjoying the game, enjoying the post Admin was putting out, and what I said was I hope Derek White was watching and realizing he has not had an impact on this team. That’s the truth. Not a knock on him, and certainly nothing against his wife. Sometimes when you take a step back and look from a distance you can see many things you cant see up close. That will help affect how you integrate in the team and how the team performs. Kind of like Marcus smart missing game one, seeing what happened and then coming out and having a big impact on the game two. Not sure where you dream up some of your interpretations from.

We will need White going forward, whether in this round, or, hopefully, the next!

Smart has proven himself as a point guard. He knows what matchups the Celtics want to attack. He knows what sets should work for them. Back in charge, he organized Boston’s offense. “I always look at his assists and turnovers,” Udoka said. “He’s had quite a few like tonight — a 12-(assist) and one-turnover game — kind of dictating everything out there and getting us into things. I’m not the type of coach that wants to call a play every time down; I leave it in his hands and he usually makes the right decision, understands who to get going and who’s hot, who the hot guys are. And he did a great job of that tonight, playing against the close-outs. They’re a heavy load team that flies out on shooters, and he did a great job driving, making the extra pass and getting guys easy shots.” – via Jay King @ The Athletic Ime Udoka, Boston Celtics, Miami Heat

And while Butler had another strong game, finishing with 29 points on 11-for-18 shooting, he took just eight free throws compared to 18 in Game 1. “Jimmy is a warrior, man,” Smart said. “Jimmy has been doing this for a long time. He understands the game. He understands his strengths. He understands his team’s strengths. So when you have a guy who has an IQ like Jimmy, it’s always going to be a tough matchup. “For me my assignment was just to make everything tough for him. We knew he was going to hit some shots. If he did, he had to work for them. That’s just where I came in.” – via Tim Bontemps @ ESPN Jimmy Butler, Marcus Smart, Boston Celtics, Miami Heat

Playing against BKN and then MIL and Giannis has prepared us for MIA. Locking down Bam has been the key. But we have the bigs who can defend him AND our entire defensive game plan (with man-on-man match ups and help defense) makes it very difficult for Bam to find any room to operate.
And Butler has been playing well but he cannot keep this up against our defense. Our defense is very special, long and athletic. It's gonna get even harder for him at TD Garden.
If we play Celtics basketball, we will be on the brink of closing out Miami after Monday's game in Boston. They've won ONE QUARTER in this series (tied a couple) but Boston has clearly outplayed MIA.
We're just a better team, a much better team.

I smell a scot foster appearance next game. Or is he in Oakland tonight? Please no, but if so we have to play good enough to win 5 on 8...he has lost a few attempts in steering games to the team behind in the series...what is his squad's record?...29-3 or something like that...

I don't put Butler on the same level as Kyrie, Harden or Simmons. They are all terrible for basketball, and Durant is getting there. Butler plays the game hard on both ends. He can disrupt the game on either end. Yes, he has a big ego, and considers himself elite when he is not. I don't mind that part. He plays it the right way. And as a fan, I'm more afraid of a tie game with Jimmy Butler than I am with Giannis.
