I knew they would go for Javale McGee. He's such an obvious answer and he's been in exactly this position
On the other trade, in a way I like it. But on the other hand you're trading Kemba for markkanen.
It does bring balance to the force but it's just a straight trade. Does it even use our tpe? I don't guess it would

I don't think Ainge will trade Kemba during the season.
It could disrupt team chemistry, like trading Perk for Jeff Green.
The ideal is to trade Kemba after the season.
But if Kemba plays well and the Celts keep winning, I don't think Kemba will be traded.
Just use the TPE to make the team even better.

You get Ball and Redick for TPE if you can to improve the bench.
Jaylen leads the league in fast break points without Ball. Imagine how much more in the lead he would be with Lonzo's long outlets and steals and transition mentality.
Smart's new style of play has me pumping the brakes on trading him though.
Which makes me think we don't need those guys anymore.
Ball(On-ball length + versatility) and Redick(charge taker) improve the bench defense too. But I don't want to take minutes from Nesmith.
Also an opportunity for Nesmith to learn some tricks from Redick.
Langford I am still waiting to see about.
Aaron Gordon is the young player most similar to Kevin Love I can think of. I would really like to add him for TPE.
K. Love is a waste of our time, unless he is a buyout.
I would hold on to Smart and Kemba right now. Nesmith too.
AG for TPE is where I'm at. Vooch is out of reach I think.
I like Bjelica.

Who would you take in a three-point shooting contest between Marcus Smart and Russell Westbrook? If you could make a trade in a vacuum, westbrook for smart, would you?

But Love is someone who would help us right now, and make us very formidable. Just my opinion, but I think if he's used right, he'd be great for us. He IS 18/11 for his career. BUT, he has two more years after this, so a buyout is highly unlikely

Kevin Love can score and rebound, but he doesn't defend like Daniel Theis.
Still, he's the ideal PF for the Celts.
Unfortunately his salary doesn't fit the TPE.
Ainge would have to trade Kemba to make a Kevin Love trade work.

I think Robin Lopez should be an option.
His size and length is ideal for defending Embiid.

Ball, no, but Redick would be a nice veteran option off the bench
Unless he's the new Jason Terry once traded to the C's ...
Personally, I don't think he can get open any more. Gone are the days of him running around screens like Ray all game. Now he's the hang out in the corner for spacing type guy

Ainge would have to trade Kemba to make a Kevin Love trade work. You don't have to sell me on Theis - I've been his biggest advocate. You know this. Well, Love won't be bought out, IMO, so he's probably stuck in CLE.

Now he's the hang out in the corner for spacing type guy I would love to see Nesmith develop into a sniper like this, that way, we won't need him, and we can focus on a banger. Today, however, I feel we need bench scoring. That's why I like him, or Harrison Barnes

I don't put much stock in this - ANOTHER guy I can't stand - go back to Italy, Brian, and leave us high and dry:
Brian Shaw on Jonathan Kuminga: Jonathan is special. Right away, when I was first around him, the person that came to mind that he reminded me of the most was Jaylen Brown on the Celtics. – via Michael Scotto @ HoopsHype Top Rumors, Draft, G League, Jonathan Kuminga. Brian Shaw, Brian Shaw, Jaylen Brown, Boston Celtics

Who would you take in a three-point shooting contest between Marcus Smart and Russell Westbrook? If you could make a trade in a vacuum, westbrook for smart, would you? No way. Marcus generally accepts his glue role and does it well. He only become s a problem when he steps out of that.
Westbrook is always out of that.
No way.

This has nothing to do with the above comments on prospective trade options/opinions. But I would like to know you guys opinion on would you have rather kept Hayward & traded Kemba. Whom do you think would be more valuable to our team as a 6th member? Hayward obviously more rebounds as taller.

There may be another by the end of the season.

How the mighty have fallen. It's always especially risky to offer long contracts to players who rely almost exclusively on athletic ability, no matter how great.

I watched the whole series and there was very little Bam vs. GWill battles. It was Bam vs. Theis most of the time. The sample size is just too small to make a definitive conclusion. Like you said, GWill is a decent player, but decent is not good enough if the Celts want to reach the finals again. But that doesn't necessarily mean GWill has to be traded. GWill could be a valuable 12th man. Or he could thin out and play the 3 Cabutan really paid attention to the ECF series last year. GWill was our best defender against Bam in that series. Unfortunately, he wasn't given the amount of minutes to effectively have an impact on the series with his defense. Anybody who watched could see GWill was our best answer for Bam. But think about it, it's not too hard to conclude that when you realize how badly Theis played defense against him. Bam and GWill go way back as rivals in high school and GWill knows his game. www.reddit.com/r/bostonceltics/comments/kt1y6p/grants_impressive_defense_on_bam_adebayo_a_motion/.compact
