Maybe it's me, but I feel "balanced" scoring is 5 guys scoring 10, not two guys scoring 25. A balanced team would be 4 or 5 players at the end of games capable of making plays. Like Pierce holding the ball, driving and passing to Ray Allen in the corner. Right now, everyone knows Tatum is taking the shot. Perhaps it will get better when Kemba comes back, perhaps not Not just you.. This is where Hayward would have helped. Would i gave him 30 mil for 4? Don't think so.. 4/110 maybe.. Kemba provides offence. Doesn't run the team well. Doesn't play decent D.. Tradeoff at best. What's evident.? . He's not worth what were paying him. Never was..

I agree. I dont think the people saying that this team could use a third scoring option behind Tatum and Brown to lighten the load is some extreme minority. And I think a subset of those people (myself included) are hopeful that Kemba returns to 2019 form because that player is very capable of being a top 3 scoring option. I dont think its crazy or illogical to think that it would be nice to still have GH because, in that event, we wouldnt be crossing our fingers as much with Kemba. Of course, we'd still want him healthy and productive, but with GH we would have insurance if he comes back and struggles.
Regarding the Mia vs Bos series last go-round. There are plenty of players, around the league, who you could point to and say "if we had that player , it would have been a different series." And yes, GH certainly counts as one. I would also put healthy Kemba in that group. Because Kemba wasnt healthy Kemba in that series. And yes, to Fierce's point, and athletic big who could contain Bam would have def helped as well.

Nah Cole.. I don't follow KD or any player alot that isn't on our team. Just presenting what might be an outlet for Irving.. I never wanted him here from the start for these reasons, Don't care what going on with him now. Two things are evident.. Irving has alot talent and the Nets alot have talent.. What shakes out? IDK. Lol I still wanted him. I'll take him now.

Well lets put it this way, just because Danny said it doesnt make it true. The 2010 Celtics ended the season going 15-14 and made it to the finals and probably wouldve won if Perk didnt get hurt. The 2012 Celtics started the year 5-9 and were 1 game away from going to the finals, they just lost to a better team. So essentially they did just turn it on, which veteran teams tend to do in the NBA. Kyrie, hated it here quite frankly. He also is not good enough to win being the best player on a team, which he was here. They lost to MIL because MIL was better, didnt they sweep the Pacers before that? MIL had the best player by far in the series, along with Middleton and Brogdon. The Celtics werent better on paper. Kyrie as the best player along with 2 really young players in Brown/Tatum and Hayward at like 50% health doesnt make them better. The Bucks won 60 games that year and had the league MVP along with a couple other really good players, 1 being an all star Durant, like you said is the best player in the east and looks like his mobility and athleticism is completely back. Nobody questions Durants effort, I think he will get Kyrie in line as the year goes on. Ive said Kyrie cannot lead a team, luckily for the Nets case he isnt the leader or best player. Them not playing well right now, also they barely play at the same time or at all...simply doesnt matter, once they get in the playoffs we will see how things turn out. Maybe they lose, but im a believer in talent wins in the NBA and they have the most in the East. Again, not saying they couldnt lose to the Celtics, etc. Just that my prediction wouldnt go against them Miami beating MIL and BOS last year was an aberration, consistently the talent wins out. Like it did with the LAL
I get it. That is what I was pointing to. When you say talent, you are pointing to paper talent.
"Durant is the best player in the East". Well, KD did not win until he left OKC and joined the Dubs. They featured him but lets not forget the spat with Draymod, "We have won without you." The unsung hero on the Dubs was Klay Thompson. He was instrumental in breaking KD's spirit when the Warriors beat OKC in 7. And yet, willingly took the back seat while KD was featured.
Then there were the Celts. KD was not the best PF in the league, Duncan was. Paul Pierce was not the best SF in the league. LeBron was. Ray Allen was on the decline. Rondo didn't do much after he left Boston. Yet, they were a top team. But Tatum, Brown, Hayward, Horford and Kyrie were not a talented team. Also, them losing to Milwaukee was about talent although the Bucks then lost to Toronto.
Looks like you prefer to believe that KD will reign in Kyrie but you don't prefer to believe that Tatum and Brown will take a step up. You say that we would have won if Perk was not hurt while not considering the injuries to Dragic and Adebayo. You are attributing it all to LAL talent.
Just to clarify, I am not questioning your allegiance here. Just pointing out that you and I are seeing the Celts from very different perspectives. BTW, you are not the only one. There are other Championship or bust fans here.
Well lets get this out of the way, Im not a championship or bust fan. I dont expect them to win a championship every year and I enjoy watching the young guys grow into potential super stars. All I am doing is simply making a prediction. I would love to be wrong and watch the Celtics beat everybody. That being said, KD is the best player in the east, not sure what the rest of that has to do with anything about this statement. It takes everybody a while to win in this league. That is a factor in these young celtics developing. The 2008 Celtics had 3 Hall of Famers in their prime, theres not really a comparison between them and these Celtics. Again, I am not saying the 2019 Celtics werent talented, but they simply werent as good as MIL and immature. Tatum and Brown just got into the league and Hayward was coming back from a Catastrophic injury. Tatum/Brown have since gotten much much better obviously. Again, Toronto had Kawhi who is one of the best players in the league simply playing at a ridiculously high level. I think its easier for KD to reel in Kyrie as the 2nd fiddle as the talent, experience and development is already there. Its literally just about showing up. The celtics have a couple guys that need to take steps in development that comes with time and experience. To be clear, if these guys stay together for a long run into their prime then they should have a time to dominate the league. To me, its just not now

I believe that just talent is overrated unless you can build chemistry as well. I agree that the Celts right now are an unknown and not a sure-shot top-4 team.

Sure, things can definitely go wrong. I kind of just base my assumption off of how things usually go in the league. Not too many upsets in the NBA, which is unfortunate. Im not guaranteeing anything, thats for sure. Just a prediction

They beat the Sixers without KD and Kyrie. actually i was referring to the sixers. I'll have to go back and look at the conversation to see why edit - fierce said he was more worried about the sixers sixers beat us then indy in the first two games. since then it's been cupcake city, given that orlando turned out to be pretenders Sixers beat us in the preseason, not regular season.

Beats the hell outa vulgar chants. My Homeboys have me Rapped out.. Seen your PM. I'm plugged in and practicing.. Something and someone is missin.. No one to play with and i'm straight. A good friend could resolve these two problems..

Don't spin it because everybody here knows you don't like midgets. No matter what Kemba does, you will always blame him.

Beginning to think you never watch any games.. Kind of both. We always move the tiny player to the weak side low post. Teams often attack from the other baseline side and crash over the top of him. That's how to exploit him without abandoning your offense.

How is Hayward being there not balanced, but getting Harrison Barnes makes them balanced? Because there has to be a balance between offense, rebounding and defense. Hayward was an excellent offensive player. But time and again, I saw him getting dragged down in the post and scored over. Yes, he would collect clean rebounds but what about getting the difficult rebounds. He certainly did not play the other end of the court that well.
Additionally, between Tatum, Brown, Hayward and Kemba, how would you distribute shots and keep them happy. There was no Klay Thompson here to willingly sacrifice shots AND still be able to contribute effectively.
Replace Hayward with a better player at the defensive end, who is reasonable at the offensive end, and you have better balance. The scorers focus on scoring and the defenders focus on supporting defensive weaknesses and rebounding. If this yields a net positive, it is better.

Well right, I understand this logic. But was Hayward ruining the team complaining for shots? Seems like he didnt like it, but sacrificed while he was here? I dont think replacing him with Barnes is an upgrade at all. They play the same position and are the same size. That to me seems like a backwards move. Let alone from the fact he provided an offensive skill set that nobody on the team has

A PG, a big and 3 wings, all who can guard multiple positions is what he wants. All the players you listed are wings. AND, that team is the same starting team I listed yesterday. I would have Benedict Arnold coming off the bench until the end of the game.
