Boston Celtics key to victory No. 1) Contain Bam Adebayo
When healthy and engaged, Bam Adebayo is one of the best big men in the NBA. Adebayo has the ability to knock down mid-rangers, is an above-average passer, a great rebounder, and dominates the low post.
A true complete big man, Bam can dominate the game on any given night. Without Robert Williams on the parquet Wednesday night, the Shamrocks are going to have to deploy a different game plan to stop the beast.
Against Boston this season, Adebayo has posted the following lines:
11/4 vs BOS: 30 MIN, 13 points, 7 rebounds, 4 assists, 5 turnovers (Celtics win 95-78)
1/31 @ BOS: 32 MIN, 12 points, 5 rebounds, 5 assists, 2 turnovers (Celtics win 122-92)
The green and white have seemingly figured out how to guard the 2017 first-round pick. When the C’s contain the big man from Kentucky, they win. Will they have the same success guarding him without Williams is the big question.
Daniel Theis will need to play solid defense without fouling. Expect to see a fair share of Al Horford guarding Adebayo, although he can’t do it alone for 35 minutes.

Boston Celtics key to victory No. 2) Play through Al Horford
The glue of the 2021-22 Celtics in many ways, Al Horford is well rested after missing the past two games due to personal reasons. We here at HH hope everything is well with Al, and are glad to see him not on the injury report.
Horford could come in clutch on both ends of the floor if Boston wants the win on Wednesday. Focusing on his offense, Al could be used to pull Bam out of the paint and allow JT and JB more room to work and play downhill.
Horford’s ability to stretch and space the floor is going to be big against the Heat. The shamrocks should look to get him the ball early and often on offense to help the game flow.
Defensively, the 35-year-old will have a tough task ahead in Bam. With some help from Grant, Tatum, and Theis, it’s a challenge the stingy vet can handle.
As mentioned in the previous key, the Celtics have played the Heat well this season in both meetings. If Grant Williams steps into the starting five to replace Williams III, he should compliment Big AL nicely.
The two bring above-average shooting from the four and five to the table and could be a big part of securing a W.
Bam does struggle with consistency at times. Looking at recent games, he posted 22 points and twelve rebounds in their win against Sacramento. But he scored just fourteen points and six rebounds against Brooklyn two days prior.
The C’s must be creative and tenacious defensively if they want to hold Bam in check.

Boston Celtics key to victory No. 3) Let ‘the Jays’ cook
When Jaylen Brown and Jayson Tatum are on their games on the same night, it’s a scary sight for the rest of the NBA.
On Sunday night, No. 0 and No. 7 each dropped over 30 points in the Celtics rout of the Minnesota Timberwolves. The duo did so efficiently in the win combining for 65 points on 24/41 shooting overall on field goals, 8/16 on 3-pointers, and not missing any of their nine free throws.
Coming off of a missed game against Toronto and a couple of extra days off, the first-round picks should both be rested and ready to go.
Marcus Smart was forced to be the primary scorer during the battle in Canada, but Wednesday night should serve as a chance for the point guard to return to his playmaking role.
With ‘the Jays’ back in the lineup, Smart won’t have to shoulder the load, and they should be able to lead the way as the primary scorers. Without Williams, the Jays may have a tougher time in the paint as they draw doubles and don’t have the big to help clear space.
We could see the return of the legendary “Theis seal” as the German big man should see an increase in minutes. It will be interesting to see how the Jays’ production changes, if at all, with the absence of ‘The Timelord’.
It’ll be key for first-year head coach Ime Udoka to let the two stars cook and run the show with Horford. If the offense can move through Al, with shots being created off-ball for the Jays, it could be a successful night for the Boston Celtics.
