I'd like to know why the Coach hasn't used his challenge on any of these BS calls!

34 ticks left and down 4 without the ball ...
Need a stop and a quick 2 or a 3 ...

Intentional foul by Smart (5th)... Bam makes 1-2 ... C's no TOs left ... -5
White misses a 3 ...
Ball was off Bam ... but awarded to Heat
Smart ejected now for bitching about the call ... Cheers for him!

Bam makes 2-2 Butler the Smart technical ... C's lose 106-98 to one Ref in particular! (Justin Van Duyne)

You know what. Tatum is stubborn so is smart and so is JB. Thats all i gotta say. Ime is a jerk for not sitting them down. We had no momentum ever. We lost our team ball mojo. Atrocious. Games like these make me feel we aint moving past first round. Bunch of jerks

As Scal indicates ... dribble hand-offs to Bam were never figured out or stopped ... something Rob might have been able to deal with.
One of the blogs suggested that they use Tatum in Robs roll as he has the BB IQ to do what Rob does and replace Tatum with Grant ... so Smart, Brown, Grant, Horford, Tatum in the 1-5 roles.
Ime didn't try that and Spoelstra took advantage of the Robless C's.

Yes, it takes a game like this to humble this team and show the major weaknesses of this team and coach. We let a guy named Max Stus factor heavily for Miami.
We have too many useless players who, against fierce opponents, can't handle the pressure. GWill, against very good competition, is useless. Same for White. And Smart is back to horrible decisions with the ball and shot selection. And Horford is so passive he can't even post up Lowry when he's got him down low. Six points Al, come on.
Ime HAS to find a way, some block of time, to put pure shooters on the court because that's not Smart, White, Gwill and Horford. Like Van Gundy said, we're gonna have to find a way to solve that because we'll be seeing a lot of that in the playoffs.
Eight man rotation with only three producing positive results. And no Tatum in the 4th quarter.
Recipe for disaster all the way around.

Byt ime, nothing

Way too early to panic ... especially over this game.
Shots weren't falling ... layups for God's sake were rolling off the front rim. That one ref was making most of the calls and they favored the Heat who were very physical while the C's were getting whistled for brushes and touches.
Could we have been better ... absolutely! Udoka said the coaches addressed the "composure" issue in the 1st half but the players ignored him in the 2nd half? He needs to come down with the hammer for ignoring his demands.
1st round of playoffs s/b a win despite no Rob ... he s/b back for the 2nd round and odds are we play Sixers who Rob and every other center in the league are ineffective against. We can & have beat the Sixers and s/b able to do so while only using Rob sparingly or for the final couple of games. He will be ready to go all out for the 3rd round when it matters ...

Of course the shots aren’t falling. White is shooting 27% since joining the Celtics. Smart is…..well, Smart 3-15. GWill and Horford are too short and too old. Again, against a very good team, our weaknesses are on obvious display. Nobody is in panic mode. Can a person simply express his perspective about the performance he just witnessed? The backups played harder and more as a team in Toronto than these slackers.

Is time to play inside and stop the whole BS threes that got us to a slow start. No ball movement dont shoot the 3. And it is time for Ime to use other combinations just in case cuz shit happens jn the playoffs. Cant buy a basket, fkn insert hauser. I dont know. Pathethic loss. What was Ime trying to prove?

If they need to work on anything it's their failure to score against the zone defense for the first 6 mins of Q4. Spoelstra will exploit that unless Odoka has an answer ...

Ok Petey but it's one game and we are and s/b better than the Heat w/o Rob ... Tatum and Brown are better than their two best.
We should have won tonight. Poor shooting (bunnys & layups in & out or rolling off the rim - some really odd misses as if there was a lid on the rim), lack of composure and too much ISO in Q4 cost them the game ... a teaching/learning video session moment for sure.

trying to shoot that zone down with our non shooters on the court aint gonna work. We saw Brad go thru that as well and he had no answer either.

Yes, but why? Derrick White didn’t learn anything from this game about the team’s reliance on his shot. GWill didn’t learn anything from his lack of production. I wonder what Al learned with his putrid numbers. And Smart is gonna force Ill-advised, unnecessary passes (and shots) like he’s been doing for the most part lately. And Ime has to be more consistent with the rotation. And honestly, we’re going NOWHERE if Tatum doesn’t stay locked in each game. He was never into the game last night. Was he not in the game or did the Heat take him out the game is the concern.

The heat were really up for that one for sure. All the emotions from their fighting...chance to wipe the slate clean.
Lets see how both teams do in their next games.

I agree, a physical playoff style game that we lost ( some questionable calls for sure) , mostly due to poor shooting at the end especially. I am MORE concerned that we have a Kyrie Irving on our team now though, since Boston will not confirm the entire team has been vaxxed! Starting to like Brown is a odd man there and if we have to play Toronto , we will be down one of you key guys, if true. Not gonna make your teammates happy if that is the case, much less the fans!

Will he go back to his old ways or will he lock in again? Thats a big Q

Scal on Smart...
"I think Marcus Smart is the best defensive player I've ever seen," Scalabrine told Heat play-by-play radio announcer Jason Jackson ahead of Boston's game against Miami at TD Garden. "He can guard all positions, any way, on ball and off."
Scalabrine's take caught Jackson by surprise, but the former Celtic stood by his words.
"Ever seen," Scal repeated.
Scalabrine makes a good point that Smart is an incredibly versatile defender who can lock up guards and big men alike. While Robert Williams has made great strides as a defender, Smart is the heart and soul of the Celtics' No. 1-ranked defense in 2021-22.

Nice of Philly to keep losing...would like get the 2nd seed...but we will have to beat Milwaukee next Thursday...don't see us stopping Giannis without Timelord though...Smart, Theis, GWill would be in foul trouble, Horford is too soft to help...

Everyone starts trying to force it, instead of going with the flow...Timelord is an irreplaceable dynamic energy...

Basically Bam ignored AL and was playing free safety on D. Those shots at the rim didn't just roll out. They were well-constested.
