Admin, I disagree with the statement that the Celtics did not do anything wrong. On the strip of Jaylen sequence, there is no reason for him to be that aggressive at that point. Honestly, I blame Rozier. He's the PG and he's gotta make a better decision there to just hold up and use clock. We have the lead by one point with a little more than 40 seconds left in the game. Other than a clear breakaway dunk, we need to pull that thing out, set up our offense, take the clock down and execute the best play CBS has in his playbook. To me, I'll put house money on a CBS play call to get a basket or trip to the FT line to get the lead to 3 points. There is no way you DON'T milk the clock and set up for a play. Things were just too frenzied at that point. It was a one on two break with Bledsoe also trailing and measuring Brown had he gone up with it (he ended up with the ball on the strip). And because of that, we failed to transition back on defense to guard Brogdan on his 3-pointer. Everything about that sequence goes against conventional wisdom at that juncture in the game. You don't want to rush the offense with lead and possession. When you have lead and possession and 40 seconds on the clock, it's about execution at that point, which I'll wager on CBS making the right call FTW (for the win). Instead, bad decision, weak (not strong) possession, bad transition defense and we give up the lead just like that. Petey, some (even I) may agree with you but CBS himself suported the play in his presser unless you think he was lying to protect his players. He prefers to stay aggressive and attack with a 1 pt lead in that situation rather than burn clock and let defenses prepare for a last second play. Besides, he said with 30-40 seconds there was still time to be beaten had they used the clock ... check the video below. He aswers that very question after addressing the final shot. I don't think CBS lies for his players. He simply and firmly supports his players. Big difference. Pud

Very well put Pud.
CBS is simply supporting his players. That's why I like the guy. No way he throws these young guys under the bus about that play. No way he remotely suggests it was the wrong decision. Just not going to happen.
Pud is right. CBS firmly supports his players and realizes this is probably a great lesson learned and it'll make us better long-term.
Now tomorrow, we'll be better, much better.
But still, Middleton fouled Brown on the play.

I'm ready. It's go time. I'm hearing Smart is cleared to play. I expect to see him. Henson is out for the Bucks again.
It'll be great having Smart back but I've been saying all season, Al Horford must lead this team. We need another game one performance from him. He's back to deferring shots and production to others and that just isn't going to work. He's attempting the same number of field goals but he's all but abandoned the 3-point shot. Why is he not shooting the 3? When Al leads, everyone follows, just like in game one. He's gotta mix it up more.
I hope we individually raise our games with Marcus returning. We cannot be less aggressive because he's back. We have to be even more aggressive and take the game to the Bucks FROM THE START.
