I am fine with C's picking him up at #3. I rather pick him than Bender to be honest..But I have a feeling this is the guy they will be picking up.

At least he's not a Junior College prospect named Kedrick ...

I do see how it molds the type of player Ainge is seeking, one that can guard multiple positions. In this case though, he can go to the rim although I thought Smart was going to do more of that!!! Anyways. I wonder what happened in that Bender workout if it was good or no.. This year we are getting zero words on how the workouts are coming along.

He could go 3 , he could go 8, just like 4 other guys in this draft. Thats what stinks about picking #3 this year. I'd be happy w Brown.

While I would love to have someone with his athleticism on the team, I think at 3 you have to go with Bender (biggest upside left), Heild or Murray (high floor with outside shooting), or trade it. Brown's a guy to keep an eye on though. If they trade the #3 or take Bender, and Brown falls to double digits, I wouldn't mind them trading up for him. That's a good way to consolidate draft picks.

I'll be honest, I'll be super mad if we pick up Bender. He seems like a Olynik clone. I'm sick of Euro guys with "upside". They almost never work out. If we draft a Big Man I want it to be one that does NOT spend his Career on the 3 pt line and didn't like to/doesn't have the bulk to bang down low

I would say that Brown has LeBron potential and Hield has Westbrook potential. It's a tough one, but you take LeBron. So Brown might actually be the best player at 3. I know I like him over Ingram for sure!! And he has a better jump shot than Simmons! He is not as unstoppable as Hield, and that's where I scratch my head. But he could be more unstoppable in time. We have such an intense need for shooting and scoring that I have preferred Hield because he is the very best in this draft at both. But realistically, Brown is a higher jumping Jae Crowder and Hield is a taller IT. We NEED another IT more than we need another Crowder. So ultimately I pick Hield and try to trade some assets to whomever drafts Brown so that we get both guys.
Our highest priorities for this draft should be: 1. A shooter/scorer 2. A low post presence on offense 3. A rim protector
My choices to fill those needs: 1.Hield/Murray/Bentil/Valentine/Baldwin 2.Sabonis/Labissierre/Maker 3.Brimah/Labissierre/Maker

Look no further than Hammons. His motor that runs hot and cold, and he’s been suspended and benched multiple times throughout his four years at Purdue. That’s concerning, of course. But in terms of centers with character issues out of college, what if he’s more of a DeAndre Jordan than a Fab Melo? Hammons is an elite finisher near the rim and devours shots near the rim. With the NBA's spacing, he could also be an unstoppable force in the pick-and-roll. Looks great!

Hammons looks good! Solid role player. Looks like a young Rasheed Wallace at times...

Jaylan Brown (SF) Stats/Scout Report per DraftExpress;
6'7" ... 222 lbs ... 6'11.5" wingspan ... Averaging 14.6 points, 5.4 rebounds, and 2 assists per game as a freshman (48.2% excl 3 PtA, 65% FT's)
An explosive leaper in space with the strength to potentially spend some time at the power forward position at the next level depending on the matchup, Brown has long looked the part of a NBA wing.
The challenge for Brown as a freshman was parlaying those tools into consistent on-court production.Brown did most of his damage playing off the ball spotting up or filling lanes in transition ...
Mystery Player Comparison;
6'8" (F) ... 220 lbs ... 7'0"+ wingspan ... Averaged 16.4 points, 5.7 rebounds ... 1.3 assists per game over 4 yrs of college (53.6% and 79% FTs)
Our mystery player had a similar power game on the inside and in transition with great athleticism, but having spent 4 yrs in school was more NBA ready with an effective jumper and an excellent mid-range game 15-18 feet out.
Can you name the Mystery Baller?

Brown reminds me a little of Stanley Johnson........Johnson is good, but not a 3 pick, neither is Brown.

Indeed but isn't it uncanny how similar their games are and stats as well ... the #2 didn't post good numbers as a freshman but broke out in his 2nd year (maybe red-shirted or just Lefty's way). If Brown can do this in his 1st year it made me wonder if he could be that guy we never got in Kedrick Brown or the #2.

Just keep him away from Lefty.......who I always suspected knew more than he let on!

You think Brown is that good? Bias was a better collage player than Jordon and might have been just as good a pro. If that's the case he's a steal at the three pick.
