Where's the Sox fans.? .....where Did they go? Anyhow, I used to be a big Expos fan .. then ownership managed to rip the baseball spirit in Mtl to shreds. .....Now I tend to root for the Jays....if the Jays can get another quality starter (can't stand Dickey) And a top reliever They'll be set. (Should have gotten kimbrel) What do you guys think of the Mtl getting a franchise again.?.I can tell you the mayor here is going bonkers , he is on a mission to get the expos back (gotto love him) ... Little talk about the Sox... this Humphrey Bogaerts kid is really something one heckuva of a hitter...He and Moncada will be mainstays on that infield for many years to come. ..I can't believe the season Ortiz is having ..how can this be? A 40 yr old probably having his best or at least one of his best seasons. ....Is he really retiring? Baseball is strange top younger hitters at times go in slumps and never recover ... this guy went into his massive slump a couple of years ago and now is having a torrid year at ..40... I'm curious to know how many guys (not in the medieval times) posted similar numbers at 40

Lucky they didn't lose Moncada!
This cheating scandal would be national news if it were the Patriots ... cost them 5 players and banned from bidding on Int'l players for two more yrs ... serious stuff.
Montreal should never have let the Expos go ... can they support a new team there? They didn't do a very good job whe Pedro was there.
If Ortiz weren't just a DH (HR #22 tonight and 72 rbi's ... most ever at the break for a 40 yo player), he'd be MVP for sure in the AL.
TOR will have the same problem with pitching as everyone else ... According to Dombrowski, there's pitching available unless you need "quality" pitching.
PS: Some Sox fans from BDC went to TalkSox.com and others are at our neighborly link found at the bottom of any page along with a link to the Pats forum as well.

Mtl has a rich baseball tradition. ..they had years of attendance thst were tops .in fact was it the Yankees where Mtl had a higher attendance one year...The Olympic stadium wasn't the place for baseball .. Jeffey Loria among with other owners destroyed the Expos ..Little doubt in 93 that Mtl couldn't take it all and then .... the strike The following year they had the firesale...it was over. .just too much. So yea it can support baseball and I'm convinced with a new downtown stadium ... the expos would draw better than a good amount of teams. ... The mayor wants the team back..The people want it back. And the Bronfmans the owners who initially brought baseball to Mtl want it back. In fact Charles Bronfman had a clause In the contrqct of sale that the team cannot be moved..Stephen Bronfman his son and the one who is behind the push to get baseball back in Mtl...sued the ex expos owners And MLB .. I miss the Expos (nos amours)....the problem we had was the expos were a minor league club for other teams. Financially, there wasn't rev sharing like today
Players that played in Mtl.... Jackie Robinson (minor league affiliate) Gary Carter, Andre Dawson, Ellis Valentine, Larry Parrish, Warren Cromartie, steve Rogers, Woody Fryman, Andres Galarraga, Charlie Lea, Bill Lee, Bill Gullickson, Tim Raines, Al Oliver Tim Wallach , Pedro Martinez, Ken Hill, Dennis Martinez , Pasqual Perez, John Wetteland, Mel Rojas, Jeff Fassero, .Randy Johnson, Marquis Grissom, Larry Walker, Moises Alou, Terry Francona, Delino Deshields, Will Cordero, Cliff Floyd, Hubie Brooks, etc..etc..

As far as international players ...why not put them all part of the draft.?. this bidding stuff isn't fair imo...The Dodgers for instance always have and had some of the best latin players .
Would Moncada have gone first overall. ..had he been part of the draft. I think he might have Top3 for sure. .

Sox lose to KC 5-3 after being up 3-1 with 6 outs to go ... The problem – if there is one – for the Red Sox isn’t so much performance as it is experience. While the bullpen has been reliable, there’s not a long track record. This is just the second full year in the big leagues for Barnes, which also makes him the longest tenured member of the bullpen not named Craig Kimbrel.
Heath Hembree is in his first full season. Brandon Workman missed almost two seasons after Tommy John surgery. Blaine Boyer is a journeyman now with his eighth team. Robby Scott made his major league debut last September. And when Joe Kelly returns from the DL later this week, he’ll be in the middle of his first full season as strictly a major league reliever.
That’s not exactly a big sample size, which could prompt Dombrowski to act. The Red Sox are known to be engaged with the New York Mets in discussions centered on Addison Reed, who has both experience and closing experience. Others are available, too.
But given the market for pitching, Reed – or anyone else of merit — won’t be cheap, and the Red Sox’ organizational depth has already been severely compromised in the last two seasons.
The clock is ticking. And the last look Dombrowski got of his bullpen before the deadline was not a favorable one.
