SEATTLE -- There have been multiple reports linking the Red Sox (and Dodgers) with White Sox ace starter Chris Sale ahead of today's 4 p.m. trading deadline.
However, a major-league source indicated that with the deadline approaching, the likelihood of a deal appears slim.
The source said "nothing" was happening early this afternoon between Boston and Chicago regarding Sale.
One earlier report from Phil Rogers of MLB.com suggested that a deal with the White Sox for Sale would include at least outfield prospect Andrew Benintendi and left-handed starter Eduardo Rodriguez.
