NCAA Tournament hero lays foundation to join Boston Celtics

March Madness provides magical moments every year, and the 2024 NCAA Tournament was no different. Between Yale upsetting Auburn and Duquesne upsetting BYU, the surprises came in abundance -- but nothing was more surprising than Oakland's Jack Gohlke hitting 10 3-pointers en route to upsetting Kentucky; a team featuring at least three NBA draft picks this June.
Oh and the best part about Gohlke?
He's a Boston Celtics fan whose childhood hero growing up was Paul Pierce.

He's a Boston Celtics fan whose childhood hero growing up was Paul Pierce.
Jack Gohlke would be an ideal Boston Celtics Summer League signing
As impressive as Gohlke was during the NCAA Tournament's opening round, it's unlikely the former Hillsdale College (Division II) star will warrant an NBA draft selection. Could he be the next Duncan Robinson (minus the provocation) as a rags-to-riches story coming from a low NCAA division to Division I before making the league as the ultimate underdog?
Well, maybe, but he is four inches shorter and would have to play at a position where he'd have a serious disadvantage in footspeed against every peer.
More than likely, Gohlke could be a Celtics Summer League signing. In fact, Brad Stevens would be wise to capitalize on the goodwill bringing him on would generate.
Gohlke has made it quite clear that's what he wants.
"I'm a massive Celtics fan," Gohlke said on The Pat McAfee Show (h/t AthlonSports). "Anything I can do to get on the Celtics' radar, I'll do it."
