No the Bucks arn't better without Giannis that's absurd. Ball Hog? Giannis averages 18.6 shots a game Tatum averages 19.4. Math isn't on your side..
I almost said Giannis & JT are alike ... ball dominate and ISO prone.
Sorry but Dame is apoor fit w/ G ... better pace. spacing and sharing w/o him leads to more wins and easier scoring
Dame has been a poor fit their record shows that..

Would you rather G taking 20 ft jumpers over Jrue (which granted are essentially open) or put a C on him who is going to play on his heels , drop to the basket, let G get momentum and attack the rim and then try to defend the shot at the rim? Granted we have some Cs who can play drop C defense well, but I still dont think this should be plan A partly because of all the ref love G gets when hes attacking the basket with momentum (winks at Cole). I think you want to put someone who is strong and quick with good hands in front of him, because then he cant drive and turns into a shooter. Now if he starts making those shots you adjust. Or if they play a 2 man inside/outside game with the ball in Dames hands running plays to set up assists from Dame to G down low, then again, you adjust. So I guess it depends on game feel. Side note: Cole, said it before, but Ill say it again. Very impressed with how you've evolved and adapted strategies to current NBA last few years. You stay up on concepts well. Bucks need to post Giannis more this new fad of centers being PGs is fine if your a Jokic. Bigs don't post anymore i noticed . This came from the Milwaukee press Dame and Giannis allegedly have figured out the pick and roll finally. IDK i havn't been watching the Bucks but Dame has picked up his assists i noticed the second part of the season. Me evolved and adapted and up on concepts? More likely probably just got lucky once or twice. Good points, Ill handle these separately. On post-ups: www.nba.com/stats/players/playtype-post-up?dir=D&sort=POSS_PCTSort by "poss" if you want , but not needed ill summarize: Embid is 1 with 6.1/game, Jokic 2 at 5.9, Bam at 3 at 4.2 (what a drop off from 2 ->3), Porz at 7 at 3.2, Giannis at 10 with 3.1, Portis at 12 with at 3, Tatum at 2.5, Brown at 2, Middleton at 1.2, Jrue at 1, Lopez at .7 Keep in mind (and Im sure you know this) PnRs are not post-ups, so that might explain why Giannis is lower here. Hes at his best when he's moving towards the basket with downhill momentum. Thats not a post-up, but PnRs do that. Dont mind him posting up, very nervous of the PnR and even without the pick, setting up plays to hit Giannis when hes moving towards the basket. I agree that if they get that going, we may need to adjust, which is why I said: "Or if they play a 2 man inside/outside game with the ball in Dames hands running plays to set up assists from Dame to G down low, then again, you adjust." Likely you take your C away from guarding Lopez (who doesnt really play a big mans game) and cover him with a smaller defender. Sure, splash mountain can pop 3s over some, but if their offensive set ends w Lopez popping a defended 3, Im fine with that (even if the defender is giving up size). But this frees up the C to play an underneath zone who can provide backside or over the top help on G when he has momentum towards the basket. Still Id like someone on G even with the C playing down-low zone (who essentially becomes an NFL safety) just to try to prevent him from getting a full head of steam every time he wants. Not nearly as worried about Giannis posting up because in that situation he has no momentum, and those often turn into jumpers, which I want. End of the day, you want players not named Dame taking jumpers. You want to take away Dame's jumpers and Giannis attacking the basket w momentum (my defensive strategy vs them)

I personally feel its easier to stop Giannis if he has the ball away from the basket and tries to drive (or shoot) vs if Dame has the ball and Giannis is moving towards the basket and they try to hit him while he has momentum. Thats hard to stop, but there are a couple points of failure. You can intercept/deflect the pass. Block Giannis from getting to his spot (which I think is harder to do when the ball isnt in his hands). You can have that second defender (the down-low big man playing zone/safety) provide a second layer of defense (along w the on-body defender) should all else fail and they complete the pass to G as hes moving towards the ball w momentum.

Dame has been a poor fit their record shows that.. Offensively - they are fourth. Defensively they are 19th. Getting Dam (especially giving up JRue to do it) is going all in on offense. And I believe this has hurt them. Giannis isnt really a great defender, Dame certainly isnt, Lopez is old and slow....and they struggle to stop teams.

I'm back! What if we had been down 20 to start the fourth, and had came back to win by 3, would that have made some of you happy? I didn't think so!! Nah. It would have simply re-stated what some of us have been saying for a while.

We have our ups and downs, but we have the most ups and the least downs, and we are the best team in the league by a mile and are the favourite to win the title. If you disagree, I would suggest you to watch the games.
It is possible that we might not make it. But it is very probable that we do it. We just gotta claim it, and we have definitely been doing it.
I suggest you pessimistic folks to enjoy the ride, and hopefully we get it. It will be fireworks ands Scottish single malts all over the place, you have my word.
Otherwise there will always be next year, like there always is. Do not be grumpy old dads, for cryin out loud.

Drew i read all your posts and i think i'm in agreement with you
Your quote below.
'''I agree that if they get that going, we may need to adjust, which is why I said: "Or if they play a 2 man inside/outside game with the ball in Dames hands running plays to set up assists from Dame to G down low, then again, you adjust."
Now this was an interesting point.
Gianis was out 6 days before our game and didn't play. Played against the Nets 35 minutes in a game that was meaningless.
Why did Doc keep Giannis out against us?
My best guess he didn't want Mazz to see Gianis and Dame clicking they seem to finally got together on offense.
Mass don't adjust quickly Rivers knows that and i think that where he will exploit our inexperienced coach.
No dig on Mass i'm just trying to get in Rivers head.
Before someone Rivers is an idiot. Maybe but He manages to keep a job.

They are too expensive for their quality - I mean the best quality whisky from both batches is Lagavulin 16, which makes 2% from most of either of them - and a grand bottle of Lagavulin 16 is cheaper than all of them. So why bother ?

I suggest that you watch the Denver Nuggets and MVP (by a mile) Jokic some.
Mister Joker will have a whole lot to say about who the best team is come playoffs.

Oh I have been watching him. He is unstoppable. I would even say Jokic will have a case to be the GOAT 10 years from now on if he keeps up the pace. But we are a better team than the Nuggests. We might have lost two close games against them, but for sure does not tell the whole story - We could very well have won both of them, and it wouldn't have told the whole story either. We are a better team than the Nuggets, though Jokic is clearly the best player in the world. And we will be waiting for him in the finals - provided he can make it that far - We'll see.

I am 5'5" - and I believe Jokic could win some games in a hypothetical NBA season with 13 more clones of me as his teammates. He is that good. Jokic is inhuman. Anybody who takes Embiid over Jokic is a dimwit.
