Did I just hear Mazz say we need to find our defensive identity? After not stressing defense all season he expects them to rekindle a defensive identity down 0-3 in the ECFs? REALLY? ?? oh oh. I guess I nailed another one. Where is Fierce? I was criticised by this as well.

We might have lost the first 3rd quarters, but looks like Mazz has mode some adjustments and we have won the decisive 4th quarter!
Even if we pull a miracle from on here Mazz needs to go. He is not an NBA-level coach.

Let's say we start this series from scratch, with hindsight on Mazz's part.
I would say he would do the same awful mistakes again. Spo is a wonderful coach and he coaches his team to their strengths. That is not Mazz. Only an incompetent like him would be swept by this Heat team, which we should be sweeping.

Trying to think of the proper adjective for my feelings about this game. I wanted to sleep on it, and so now I'm ready. And, you all better get ready, because you're going to get sick of my saying it
Ball-less They are a bunch of ball-less, over-hyped, over-paid prima donnas, who can't play a lick of defense, have NO pride in wearing the uniform, have enough talent to tease you all year long, but not enough SACK to get over the top!!
Oh, yeah, and Mazz must go. The SECOND we lose.

Mazz should have the courage to admit the obvious and step down, that he is waaaay over his head as HC.
Brad should follow him out the door.
I'm embarrassed for this franchise.

Not sure Brad should go.
He brought back Horford, and traded for White and Brogdon. All for Nesmith, Langford and a couple of picks.
He did fire Ime, and hire Joe, so that's on him. I'd say give him one more off-season to see what he's got up his sleeve. Joe must go. Smart must go ONE of the J's must go.
the "bottom" 5 can all go - Blake - Champagne - Kornet - Muscala (why did we trade for him?) and PP should be traded to a team where he will play (POR).
Grant I'm not sure about. Sign and trade, maybe?

Mazz is and was nothing more than Steven's puppet. This was a Stevens oriented team all year. Steven's hand was all over the coaching approach One step back to the ''heave a three and pray'' team we had during Stevens tenure as coach that resulted in no trip to the finals in 8 years.. WYC is a chicken shit owner and my guess Stevens stays.. Mazz will shoulder all the blame Stevens will stay despite his stupid blunder. I've been finished with the team sense they fired IME for hosing a rich white mans wife who obviously has less morals then the cheap street corner girls that hang out on a dark street.

Signing Horford for two more years at 10 mil was another mistake Stevens made hardly a good move.
This sums it up well the players have little or no respect for Stevens or Mazz..
According to Celtics rival and Los Angeles Lakers Magic Johnson, he’s never seen anything like this in his life.
“In my 44 years of being associated with the NBA, I never thought I’d see a Boston Celtics team, a franchise with 17 Championships, quit. I know Celtics fans all over the world must be disgusted and devastated. The Miami Heat blew them out 128-102 in Game 3,” Johnson tweeted after Game 3.

So Colin Cowturd proposed Brown and Brogdon to the Warriors for Wiggins and Poole. Not sure I like that one.
Also read POR would consider trading Anfernee Simmons and the #3 pick for an "elite" small forward to play with Dame.
PP is from POR, so maybe Brown and PP for Simmons and the #3. Could we then package Smart and the #3?
OR - if POR doesn't re-sign Grant, perhaps Dame himself will become available. I would then trade Brown and PP for Dame. And, despite his age, I would do it in a heartbeat!

Based on the way Horford played all of last year, and up until this round, he's worth 10 mill. He should come off the bench next year, his last, but he took a huge discount to play two more years here. Horford is NOT the main problem. He has sucked in this series, but overall he is just one of the many problems we have to face. I also don't understand the Brad hate on here. He is not perfect, who is? He was probably pressured to fire Ime......and, again, bringing back Horford for one more chance was not a mistake, IMO.

why did Mazz shoot 2 for 20 in this series from 3 pt distance against the Heat? in other words, players win games, players lose games.

Horford coming off the bench is a givin i'll agree Hedley.
Sitting out over half a year resting might be another option.
Stevens has few if any friends left in Boston it's not just me.
Can't see why Smart gets all the blame here i expect him to have some choice words for the Celtics top brass.. He put more of a effort in than Tatum who guards no one well and
Yes but i'm open to trade Smart and i'm sure he and Brown want a ticket out of the ''City of Puritans''.
This is Tatum's team has been sense day one.. It's fairly obvious he's not a good or great leader let alone a MVP candiate.
Take the T Bird keys away he's not an adult.

On Sunday, the Miami Heat took it to the Celtics in Game 3 with an absolute blowout of a match, putting Boston on the back foot with a statement game. After doing a bit of trolling on Grant Williams, Butler once again upped his game with a shot at Al Horford. Late in Game 3, Butler nailed a three-pointer to extend the Heat’s lead on the Celtics. Once the shot was drained, Butler moonwalked backwards and celebrated with a timeout call… for the Celtics. If you recall, Horford pulled the same move — calling a timeout for the Heat — in Game 1 after a big three-pointer. – via Mary Clarke @ For The Win Frivolities, Al Horford, Jimmy Butler, Boston Celtics, Miami Heat

3 clear choices; -change the HC -change the players -run it back
-Brad, Ime and now Mazz were not able to get this group over the hump. close, but not over. will another HC succeed? -trading JB or Smart could return some interesting pieces, but certainly no lock that the team will be better -the team has arguably been the best team in the league this season, but hit a better prepared, more motivated opponent. happened to the Bucks, 76'ers too. I am not in favor of a major knee jerk reaction with such a young team. -find some vet help on the bench for Mazz.

It's all over now, Baby Blue...
Maybe Mazz could regain a bit of respect by starting the bench players in Game 4, looking for those in Green ready to show some fight.
He's got nothing to lose at this point!
