The Nugs have been good all year. If teams didn't help the Lakers at the deadline (still think it's a conspiracy), then they wouldn't even be here........ "Malik Beasley, Jarred Vanderbilt, D'Angelo Russell, Mo Bamba and Davon Reed were added to the Lakers' roster within 24 hours of the trade deadline. Russell Westbrook, Patrick Beverley and Thomas Bryant were traded off the Lakers' roster as part of three separate trades. The Lakers made the first notable trade of the 2022-2023 season when they acquired Rui Hachimura from the Washington Wizards on Jan. 23. Los Angeles sent Washington Kendrick Nunn and three second-round draft picks in the deal." WOW - that's two starters and two rotation players. Anyway, the Nugs had the best record in the West all year. And, yeah, LeBron is great....but it's still the Lakers!! Go Nuggets!!
I want to know why Brad wasn't in on that deal ... all we could afford was Muscala?

even if he was and we acquired any of the above, doubt they would have cracked the rotation. Mazulla is going short with his rotations in the playoffs. 7-8 players?

Maybe Doc wants to come be our assistent?
... unless another team with a vacancy wants to give him his 3rd attempt since the C's ... maybe he does.
ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski reported the move and tweeted:
“BREAKING: The 76ers dismissed coach Doc Rivers on Tuesday, sources tell ESPN. Rivers led the Sixers to the Eastern Conference Semifinals in each of his three seasons on the job.”
Philadelphia 76ers President of Basketball Operations Daryl Morey confirmed the decision with this statement:
“Doc is one of the most successful coaches in NBA history, a future Hall of Famer, and someone I respect immensely. We’re grateful for all he did in his three seasons here and thank him for the important impact he made on our franchise. After having the chance to reflect upon our season, we decided that certain changes are necessary to further our goals of competing for a championship.”

at $6MM Hachimura would have been the perfect replacement for Grant going forward.

perhaps Mazzulla was too fond of grant heading into the deadline. Things got sour after?

Seems Grant was out when his 3-pt shot went cold amid talk that he wanted $25MM extension. Looked like Brad threw in the towel and refused to help him gain any traction as a FA and thus glued to the bench despite Mazz saying he would be used for certain matchups.
All the talk about Vanderbilt at the time and we didn't know about Hachimura being made available ... WAS had to be looking for a better deal and we had Grant or Pritchard ... this is what L.A. gave up for him:
Rui Hachimura, PF
Traded to Los Angeles (LAL) from Washington (WAS) for Kendrick Nunn, 2023 2nd round pick [CHI pick] , 2028 2nd round pick [WAS/LAL less favorable] and 2029 2nd round pick [LAL pick]

He's a RFA this summer (QO $7.7mm) but maybe an easier signing than fathead Grant yet bigger and almost as good on threes.
That one pisses me off moar than Bamba landing in L.A. and I craved Mo Bamba.

Coaches get fired in the pros, and the NBA is a players league.
I don't dislike Doc, never did. He was not the problem in Philly, Harden was and is.
Read today that Harden didn't want Doc back. Now that Doc is gone, will that influence Harden to stay? I say N.O. Rat Beard will do whatever he wants, and it's probably better for everyone if he just goes back to HOU and is the "man" again.
With Harden and Ime in HOU? Hide your wives and daughters. Are there all-night strip clubs in HOU?
The biggest mistake in this whole process BS was choosing Harris over Butler!! And, sorry, that's not on Doc!

And I sure hope that doesn't come back to bite us in the butt. I sure don't want to play the Lakers IF we get to the Finals.

They were stupid enough to trade the lakers two starters and two bench players for their crap and a couple of second round picks. We don't know what Brad offered, if anything. Vanderbilt would have been nice, but now he starts for the lakers...........I have said before that the league makes more money when the lakers are good, and there may be pressure on teams to deal with them. All those players for Westbrook and Beverely?? No, too good to be true. Pelinka is not that good. Don't understand why teams continue to help them get better. They were in TENTH place when the trade went down........it stinks.

I sure hope Miami starts Kevin Love at PF. We can then go with the double big lineup which I believe is our best defensive starting lineup.
Mazzulla MUST have a strategy to defend Butler getting on-ball screens that leave Al Horford alone in space. He's got to have us hedge, trap or jam when Butler comes off the screen. We just can't ALWAYS switch leaving Horford on him. We have to mix it up and give him different looks.
Miami really doesn't have anyone who can defend Tatum, Brown or Brogdon. They should really impact the game offensively. If we can get some consistent offensive production from Horford, Smart or White, we should be fine.
And Mazzulla cannot make nonsensical coaching mistakes that cost the Celtics. He's got to coach this series.

Maybe they'd prefer a Bud or a Nurse over the Doc ... Monty has a decent history as well.
Sixer mistakes:
Year I of the Process - Drafted MCW over Giannis
Traded Holiday for Nerlens Noel
Drafted Okafor (with Embiid already on the team) over Turner or Booker
Brought in the Colangelo's to replace Hinkie (The Process) who drafted Simmons and dumped Noel for a bag of balls
Moved up in draft for Fultz over anyone including Tatum, Fox, Mitchell & Markkanen: Fultz suffered from a “mysterious injury” which was found to most likely be caused by an unreported motorcycle accident. Fultz also had many issues from forgetting how to shoot, to a very public disagreement with his shooting coach, to not even caring about the game and I could go on and on and on.The Sixers gave Fultz every chance he flat out didn’t want it. Fultz showed the least character the NBA has seen in quite some time (Andrew Bynum) and it was a horrible disappointment for many involved.
Drafted Evan Turner over Cousins, Hayward or Paul George
Traded away Embiid's backup (Drummond) for Harden
#1 Mistake?
... a four-team trade by moving star player Andre Iguodala to the Denver Nuggets while sending young players Mo Harkless and Nikola Vučević along with a future first-round pick to the Orlando Magic. Coming back to Philly was 24yo superstar Center Andrew Bynum from the LA Lakers and Jason Richardson from the Magic. The Lakers moved Bynum in favor of Dwight Howard from the Magic and gave up on a very young very talented Center. While Dwight Howard didn’t work out (at least his first trip there) the team was right to move on from Bynum.
Bynum was an expiring free-agent who had issues with his knees which is why the Magic weren’t interested either. The plan was for Bynum to recoup, work back into shape and become the superstar the Sixers felt they needed. That wasn’t the case as Bynum never took basketball seriously after coming to Philadelphia. True he did suffer setbacks but he didn’t do himself any favors during his time here. Bynum was unprofessional at every turn and never made wise choices to help his ailing knees. Bynum is one of the most infuriating players to ever be associated with the team but what made matters worse was the success of the players traded.
Andre Iguodala found his role and became an indispensable player who could do everything but didn’t need to score. Going on to win three NBA Finals with the Golden State Warriors, “Iggy” also won Finals MVP and NBA All-Defensive First-Team honors.
Mo Harkless went on to become a fine role-player. Never a star, Harkless has become a dedicated and versatile defender, something every team needs.
Nikola Vučević has since become one of the top ten Centers in the NBA. Being named an All-Star last year, Vucevic has become known for his quality shooting and terrific rebounding.
All of these players would have contributed far more to the Sixers than Bynum did. This is one mistake that may never stop hurting.

agreed, the 76'ers failure has been on all of management, not only the coach. I also fail to see Harden as a winner. he gets his, sure. but when he does not get his, he makes no one on his team any better, and his half ass defense is a net negative. I would be willing to bet that Philly hopes he leaves, and hands the team over to Maxey/Embid, and surrounds them with some athletic players. seems Monty Will is the fave to get the gig.

Back to Doc:
Former Celtics player rips Doc Rivers coaching style from time in Boston (AP Photo/Rick Scuteri) By Brian Robb | brobb@masslive.com
Doc Rivers has been the target of criticism from multiple former players in recent days after his 76ers were blown out by the Celtics in Game 7 of the Eastern Conference Semifinals.
Rasheed Wallace spent just one year playing under Rivers with the Celtics before he retired after the 2009-10 season but in an appearance on his YouTube show “That’s What Sheed Said” on Monday, the big man did not hold back on criticizing his former coach.
“You gotta get somebody in there that the players respect,” Wallace said of Rivers. “ He doesn’t make adjustments. That’s just from being in the locker room with him for that one season. That seems to always be his biggest knock If his team is up, you don’t have to coach s*** then. When you are in the trenches, and you are going against another team and another good coach, you’ve gotta be more than a locker room manager.
Admin Comment: Sounds like Mazz ... Could he be next?
Rivers was fired for the second time in three years on Tuesday after Philadelphia lost in ugly fashion in the Eastern Conference Semifinals on Sunday in Game 7 after blowing a 3-2 series lead to Boston. While Rivers has used his success in Boston to help catapult him to more power with the Clippers last decade, Wallace also suggested that his impact in Boston was overrated in the team’s success on the floor.
The Celtics lost Game 7 of the NBA Finals in 2010 to the Lakers after blowing a 3-2 lead with Rivers at the helm. The former Sixers coach has now lost five straight Game 7s overall and has failed to reach a conference final since his time with Boston in 2012.

If that criticism came from Pierce or KG, it would mean a damn to me. But Rasheed Wallace? We should have added Ron Artest instead( Like I begged for). Rasheed is not even smart enough to not get technicals. Make an adjustment Rasheed!
