Embiid's hurt ... not sure when he'll be back ... 50% chance he'll be ready for Rd II Game I ... he may miss a few games ... he could miss the entire round ... Or Doc could be a "LIAR" and Joel will go from "out" to "questionable" come game time ...
I don't know about you but I don't take Doc's words seriously ... guy's a snake and always making excuses for his failures. I believe Embiid injured his knee but nobody other than the Sixers really know how good or bad it is. Would Doc try to inflate an opponent's confidence with questions around Embiid's return or the seriousness of his injury? Turn a negative into a positive? You bet! Hence, Mazzulla and the C's are prepping for a Sixer team with or without Embiid. None the less, the Sixers' PR machine is pumping it out in overtime. Even P J Tucker has added some concern and credibility to the issue with his statements below. I'm hoping there's a lick of truth to the stories but won't be surprised if it's moar BS from Doc as usual.
Joel Embiid uncertainty vs. Celtics draws sobering response from Sixers vet PJ Tucker By Paolo Songco
The Philadelphia 76ers have a huge headache right now on the Joel Embiid injury front as they prepare for Monday’s Game 1 matchup against the Boston Celtics. Embiid suffered a sprained LCL in his right knee in the Sixers’ series-clinching Game 4 win over the Brooklyn Nets, and he’s now in danger of missing their series-opener against Boston in the Eastern Conference Semifinals.
Sixers veteran PJ Tucker has now opened up about Embiid’s potential absence in Game 1. Tucker has acknowledged how big a loss Embiid will be for Philly and how the injury absence of their superstar big man will force them to change their battle plan against the mighty Celtics:
This is not what Sixers fans want to hear right now. Unfortunately for them, this is the harsh reality they’re facing at the moment with Joel Embiid already listed as doubtful for Game 1. At this point, Philly has no other choice but to prepare to battle Jayson Tatum and Co. without their best player available on the court. Hopefully, Embiid is able to recover in time to return at some point. Otherwise, this series could be shorter than most folks expect.

For those interested in how the forum is doing in the midst of the playoffs I've taken a screenshot of the last 24 hrs activity:
It's not unusual for the forum to attract 100-150 guests during a playoff round but the Celtics weren't active last night yet we saw 260 visitors! Must have been that GS-SAC game drawing score checkers while the Bruins were letting their fans down in the same fashion that at one time I feared might happen to the C's vs the lowly Hawks. Thank God the Celtics didn't let us down the way the B's did their fans ...

I don't think Embiid will play tonight. He's had too many injuries in his career to play when "doubtful." He had PRP on his knee, and I don't think they'll rush him.
It is, therefore, imperative that we win tonight!!

The treatment Embiid went through to try to play in Game 1 vs. Celtics, revealed By Rexwell Villas
At the moment, Embiid’s availability for Game 1 at TD Garden remains up in the air. However, the Sixers are seemingly trying all they can to boost the chances of the MVP candidate playing this Monday night. According to Shams Charania of The Athletic, he was told that Joel Embiid had received a “platelet-rich plasma treatment on his injured knee.” Charania also shared the thought that it would be considered a “miracle” if Embiid ultimately plays in Game 1 of the Celtics series. For what it’s worth Embiid has been seen throwing shots up at the Sixers’ morning shootaround Monday. That’s a good sign for Joel Embiid’s availability but it does appear still that he will be a game-time decision. Embiid and the Sixers got a bit of help from the Atlanta Hawks when Trae Young and company extended their first-round series versus the Celtics to six games, giving the Philadelphia center extra days of rest.

LOL- we were 3-1 against them this year. And in the one loss, by two points, Embiid scored 52 and Jaylen didn't play!!

I expect Embiid to play. Hell, I want him to play. But if he doesn't, so what!
This series is ALL ABOUT THE CELTICS!
It's time we ramp things up another level and start to dominate.
They have nobody who can check JT and JB. PJ Tucker and Tobias Harris cannot stay with them so they MUST dominate.
I also believe our guards will clearly outplay the Sixers guards.
We are clearly the better team. This SHOULD be nothing less than a gentleman's sweep.
Celtics in 5.

I was at mixed emotions watching Golden State. Since I am a local in this area I do root for them(Giants too if it doesn’t affect the Red Sox) if it doesn’t involve the Celtics especially for them to beat the Lakers( same with Yankees) whom I hate with or without LeBron & hope they do in the coming series.
The problem is Curry got 50 pts which was 1/2 of the 100 scored by Sacramento. He rises to the challenge & was the main reason we lost to them in the finals last year. Will we meet them again? I hope not and not because we wouldn’t be there. I’m sure Doc is extra motivated to beat us wondering if he should have been our coach longer but I still fault him for our loss against the Lakers in the finals in 2010. Sorry to open old wounds but, yup, I know we lost Perkins in Game 6 and in the finals they got the egregious difference of 42 foul shots to our 18 and just 21 in critical Qtr #4 when we had a 13 pt lead end of Qtr #3. Doc needed to tell both Rashid Wallace and Garnett, both 7 footers when we were losing the rebound advantage substantially, especially in the 4th Qtr. that they needed to be in the post at all times getting rebounds and not shooting 3s as we had PP & Allen do that with Rondo driving to the basket. They killed us with reb advantage 53 to 40 (I mean 13 extra chances) and only shot 38% and we did 42% but the extra chances killed us.
Thank GOD we beat the Hawks in 6 because as per the Bruins…most egregious loss I think in Boston teams’ history…who knows what could have happened in a game 7 when we might have been a bit tense & pressured while they could have been very loose with nothing to lose having taken us to 7 games.
Essential we win tonight with or without Embed. I'm sure they don't want him to play prematurely & be lost for the series.
