Eddie House says it's been along time for a Gino celebration so here he is!
Grant: Oh well ... you don't really want him to be too good and look for $20M ... playing into Brad's scheme

Hahaha ... a funky SG!
Grant ... when asked, Mazz tells media this:
... funny, what I saw was Mazz in Grant's grill with what looked like "It's not about you!"

In the early hours of March 8, free agency acquisition and veteran forward Danilo Gallinari posted a video to his personal Twitter page showing him hoisting up and cashing in on 3-pointers inside the team’s practice facility.
His latest video marks the first time where he has been shown consistently knocking down jumpers at Boston’s own facility.

This post goes hand in hand with the Gallo video just posted. Why? Find out below: Grant Williams may have priced himself off the Boston Celticsby Andrew Hughes
Grant Williams may have priced himself off the Boston Celtics by denying a four-year, $50 million contract extension back before the 2022-23 season began. By passing up on what was a reasonable contract offer from the Cs as reported by Jared Weiss of The Athletic (subscription required), Williams has invited a poison pill deal from a rebuilding squad with cap space in need of complementary pieces. Williams did what was best for his career, which is commendable. Still, Boston may not be able to afford his extension given the potential salary cap implications. Perhaps majority team owner Wyc Grousbeck’s edict that he wanted the team all-in this year is a resignation to the fact that certain players may not be coming back.In the NBA, stars are the be-all and end-all. The franchise understands Jaylen Brown’s payday is coming in the summer of 2024 — and that’s said with decent confidence considering reports have relayed that Brown is all in on the Celtics long-term — so signing role players to deals that could eventually age into albatrosses may not be in the best interest of the front office.
Why the Celtics would be overpaying Grant Williams on a more lucrative deal than the offer he turned downIn truth, even the $50 million offer the Boston Celtics offered Williams may have been an overpay. The Magic are getting Wendell Carter Jr. on the same deal, and the former lottery pick has never averaged less than double-digit points per game. Williams has never averaged more than 8.4 points per game and has also never cracked the starting lineup.Boston has been a contender in three of the four seasons, making it tougher to get big minutes with one of the league’s best players (Jayson Tatum) often starting at his preferred power forward position, but the point stands: Williams is more unproven than players making the amount of money he turned down. As great as he has been in spurts, committing to those spurts in the long-haul is far from prudent. Signing such deals isn’t the way Boston typically operates. The teams perennially at the bottom of the standings tend to overpay such players. The Celtics front office should simply let them if it gets to it. As good as Williams is, Danilo Gallinari could likely contribute what he does while making less than half of what the 24-year-old is now expected to make.

I noticed!
That's what I was referencing with "It's not about you!" I think Grant was bellyaching to Mazz about missing those FTs and worrying how it would affect his PT and contract status. Mazz looked irate and any love he sent Grant's way wasn't "I love you" as much as "It's not about you!"

He's a playoff tested vet and won't need much time to get acclimated to his new team if cleared by the trainers & med crew. Remember, Gallo has been traveling with the team and in meetings. He's been privy to game plans and seen how his teammates play together. I expect him to fit right in like a glove once he gets his conditioning back. That's all that may hold him back.

story about Grant is similar to what I saw from the Atlantic. There they said the money wasn't the hold up on the deal, but the guarantees.
I expect Boston wanted to have either team options OR partial guarantees on the last year or so. Grants team wanted it fully guaranteed.
So $20M per year was never a thing from Grants side in that case.
all that said my money is on Boston just giving him the QO and letting hit the RFA market. Unless his play really ramps up its hard for me to see him getting even that $13-14M per year that Boston offered earlier now. Perhaps Grant should have talked with Schroder when he was here?
I agree that healthy Gallo should be able to provide the outside shooting that Grant has at times. However Gallo is not a good defender and Grant can and does play certain players very well.
Right now I would like them to try to find another Center using the Tax-paying MLE next off-season. I don't trust Rob to ever be any more than he showed this year.

A game when we played most of it without 2 centers. First one in a while. Easy win. Granted one game proves nothing because there were other variables afoot, such as: Tatum having one of his better games since the AS break.

KD's season could be over, looks like a grade 2 ankle sprain! I'm starting to worry that the Lakers may come out of the west!
Regular season could be ...
Suns Fear Durant Has Grade 2 Ankle Sprain; More Tests To Come by Luke Adams
After Suns star Kevin Durant suffered an ankle injury during pregame warmups on Wednesday and exited Footprint Center in a walking boot, there’s concern within the organization that he’ll be diagnosed with a Grade 2 sprain, according to Greg Moore of The Arizona Republic.
Durant is expected to undergo more testing on his ankle on Thursday to determine the severity of the sprain. However, because the team isn’t scheduled to practice until Friday, we may have to wait another day for an official update, tweets Gerald Bourguet of PHNX Sports.
If it’s deemed to be a Grade 2 sprain, it would likely sideline Durant for four-to-six weeks, jeopardizing his ability to play another regular season game, writes Moore. The Suns’ regular season finale is exactly one month from today.
Durant’s injury occurred when he was driving to the basket during warmups prior to what would have been his first home game as a Sun. He slipped and went to the floor as he attempted to jump for a layup attempt (Twitter video link via Kellan Olson of ArizonaSports.com).
Comment: Bad karma cloud from Nets/Kyrie ... better burn some incense!

Sitting in 9th place, the Lakers are still below .500, and just moved into the 9th spot.......
MEANWHILE, a short time ago, one poster asked who would come out of the West. Hedley said, "The Warriors are still the champs until someone knocks them off." After that comment, someone who never admits they are wrong said, "GSW is not even in the playoff picture right now, you're a clown."
So, today, GSW sits FIFTH in the West, and the Lakers, as mentioned, JUST got into the playoff picture.......so, I'll say again, The Warriors are the best team in the league until someone knocks them off. And I highly doubt anyone wants to see them in the playoffs.
