I just can't see the team spending 1) the draft capital needed 2) the player salary's needed for Poeltl or Plumlee as third center INSURANCE. Plumlee is un playable on the Celtics, IMO.( defense and Can't shoot FT) While Poeltl is either half year rental OR you are letting AL walk after this year. Either way its bad deal to me. BTW, Poeltl is a whopping 50% FT shooter the past two years while the "unplayable" Plumlee is 44%. I honestly don't understand the Poeltl love around here myself , I don't think he's better than Rob or Al, thus is not needed. Plumlee is just an example of giving a worthless 2nd rounder for an insurance at Center. Poeltl is not better than Rob and Al, but what happens if Rob is injured and Al gets in foul trouble? But it's true the price could be too high on Poeltl. There are other bigs out there besides Poeltl and Plumlee. Those two are just examples. The good news is the Cs don't have to make a move now. Letting Kornet play is good for the Cs in the long run. Kornet's biggest test will come against the Bucks on Christmas day. If Kornet is unplayable against the Bucks because he's not strong enough then the Cs will definitely need to make a move. There's always the buyout market!

But you don't control your own destiny, so to speak, in the buyout market. The player would have to want to play for Boston. I think the Cs should go all in this season because it's very clear the Celts really have a big chance of winning it all this season. So what if it costs the Cs some picks.

We have to remember that this is a long season. There are teams we haven't played yet. I highly doubt GSW will be this bad for the entire year. IND isn't this good. ATL, MIA, BKN should all be better. And let's not forget, Boogie is still out there. Soon guys will get asked to get bought out.
BUT, there is no need to do anything yet. We are rolling.

Yeah, I agree. We are rolling and no need to mess that up like the Perk for Jeff Green trade. GSW is not bad, they just didn't upgrade. So they're basically the same team that beat the Cs last season. The problem for GSW is the Celts have improved, hugely improved. I don't see GSW beating the Cs again in a finals rematch. And ATL, MIA, and BKN are all small teams that Kornet can play in and thrive.

All the Celtic losses have come from only 2 teams and those two teams are big teams.
Jarrett and Mobley and Vooch and Drummond.
That's the only concern because other than the Cs, the Bucks are also one of the favorites to win it all this season.
What the Cavs and Bulls did so effectively against the Cs was play inside-outside basketball. If the Cs had to double or help inside, both those teams would kick it out to open shooters. That's the only weakness of this Cs defense, if they have to help or double inside.

Celts didn't have problems with big teams last season. The 2 big lineup of Al and Rob were up to the task against the bigger teams. If Rob and Al are both healthy, there shouldn't be any problem with size. But that's a big "if".

Because his blocks lead to easy transition buckets the other way. Also create a lot of running to tire them out. Turnovers and transition = key to our success (and of course shooting)

I dont agree that we lost to the Cavs because of Mobley and Jarrett. I think it was Mitchell and Garland.
Vooch did have 2 good games against us, so I see the point there.

Seems like major rebounding disadvantage in the Cleveland games mainly allen. We struggled with that in the first few games in general, though.

I agree it hinges on how Rob plays when he comes back. While an injury can happen to anyone at anytime, IF Rob comes back and plays pain free and ramps up fine, I don't see the need for an additional big man in trade.
Buy out or Free agent maybe ( last I checked Whiteside and Cousins are both still sitting home).
I am fine replacing Vonleh and Jackson before their deals become guaranteed, in that case Whiteside and another SF/wing type would be my preference.

Mitchell and Garland did most of the damage, but Allen and Mobley kept the Celtic defense honest. The Celtic bigs couldn't help when Mitchell or Garland drove to the basket because Mitchell and Garland would drop the ball to Allen or Mobley. If Allen or Mobley ends up being guarded by a smaller Celtic defender, the Cavs would exploit that matchup. And when the Cs try to help inside, Allen or Mobley would kick it out to an open shooter. The size advantage of having 2 bigs playing together at the same time was just too much for the smaller Celtic defenders. But it's not going to be a problem if Rob and Al are available because it's 2 bigs vs. 2 bigs. It's a case of fight fire with fire.

Agree, I'm more concerned with Garland and Mitchell than I am with the Cavs bigs! Against the Bulls we were just bad, but DeRozen and Levine were a bigger problem than Vouch! In 2 games DeRozen has scored 69 points against us! That's a problem!

As for guys like Boogie, Whiteside and Howard, there's a reason why no team has picked them up, and I would say that reason is they are known as being bad teammates! The one thing Brad don't want is someone coming in and disrupting the chemistry this team has going!

The next two weeks will really show where this team is at. We'll see how they do with the back to back MIA games and Toronto. The true test will be the western swing. Im hoping I can get a ticket to see them at Staples Center(or whatever the name is now).
