Brogdon is a good defender himself. And I would start him WITH Smart. There is no way you start Smart if you have Brogdon. Smart goes to the bench and is first off for anyone. A backcourt of Brogdon and Brown is a significant upgrade. God forbid we play 2 actual guards and 1 center.

Boucher might be available for that TP-MLE this year. he'll turn 30 soon and has peaked out where he is (as well as being a string bean). but heck, IF Udoka will play him why not? Then they can maybe move Theis ( since Udoka will not play him) and maybe a first for a wing/shooter. You really think adding to the bench is enough? It might be enough to get past Milwaukee, I'm not sure about the championship unless JT and Smart can get that monkey off their back. Ime did not go very deep in the bench all playoffs. Was it fatigue or just not being a good match up for some? White was a nonfactor until midway through the Heat. Grant and PP had some good and some ineffective moments too. Theis barely saw the floor after the BKN series. Dunno how anyone can be called a "nutcase" when they resist extremely heavy political pressure to deny the person who appointed them - on multiple decisions. Many Supreme Court Justices and other justices go by matters of law not politics. Get better bench players, and they'll get more minutes

Horford Contract Notes:
2022 $14.5 million guaranteed, $19.5 million guaranteed if makes Finals in 2020, 2021 or 2022, fully if wins Finals (@bobbymarks, @jeffsiegel)
We made the Finals ($19.5mm) but didn't win it. Wyc said the C's would still pay Al his entire $26.5mm anyway.
A proposed extension could be $36mm for next season and two add'l which equates to $12mm/yr ... he'll be 38 as that contract ends and s/b valuable at that avg cost for the next 2-3 yrs anyway ... if not on the court in yr 3 then as a mentor.
22-23' $26.5mm 23-24' $5.5mm 24-25' $4mm
wow that's awful cheap , I can't see those numbers flying with Al. Would be insulting almost. Where did those numbers come from? I would think maybe half of his current salary (12-13M) per year would be good for both team and player. Those are my estimates because he'll be a 37yo vet still hunting a ring ... bigs that age don't command big bucks at that stage. C's are keeping him at $26.5mm when they don't have to so adding 2 yrs at short $ for a vet playing 10-15mins/gm during regular season (to be ready for playoffs) is an accommodation for both parties.

SFCeltic.... with all the defecation/needles in the streets, how come San Fran is STILL the most expensive city in the U.S.of A. to live in... by a wide margin?
What's the scoop with the SF Bishop banning NancyPee from taking communion because he claims she is pro-choice?
Apparently our favorite mother of five pol refuses to take family planning advice....

...from this celibate guy known for wearing a dress!
Who knew?
My guess is that NP's real sin is... (DRUM ROLL).... she's been WAY TOO HARD/outspoken on the RC Church's woeful efforts to address clergy abuse.
Perhaps.... just perhaps.... the pedophilia scandal is bad business/ bad optics for an institution promising eternal salvation...

...for a measly 10% tithe right off the top!
My guess: Its all about business.

In case you are wondering.... Pope Francis just passed over the hard right S.F. Archbishop Cordileone feuding with NancyPee over receiving Holy Communion... and elevated the far more inclusive and progressive Bishop Robert McElroy, of San Diego to be one of the new members of the RCC's College of Cardinals.
I'm sure Bishop Cordileone is less than happy that the junior archbishop from S.D. got the position over him.
Pope Francis certainly has his hands full trying to clean up the mess at the very top of the RCC's hierarchy, the very same hierarchy that has tried its best to ignore, then obfuscate, then bury the church's clergy sex abuse scandal.

For those of you no doubt worried about NancyPee's soul, you will more than happy to know that she received Communion at the Vatican, no doubt under the watchful, approving eye of Pope Francis.

**** politico.com Pelosi receives Communion in Vatican despite abortion stance By Associated Press 06/29/2022 07:30 AM EDT Link Copied 3-4 minutes
U.S. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi met with Pope Francis on Wednesday and received Communion during a papal Mass in St. Peter’s Basilica, witnesses said, despite her position in support of abortion rights.
Pelosi attended the morning Mass marking the feasts of St. Peter and St. Paul, during which Francis bestowed the woolen pallium stole on newly consecrated archbishops. She was seated in a VIP diplomatic section and received Communion along with the rest of the congregants, according to two people who witnessed the moment.
Pelosi’s home archbishop, San Francisco Archbishop Salvatore Cordileone, has said he will no longer allow her to receive the sacrament in his archdiocese because of her support for abortion rights. Cordileone, a conservative, has said Pelosi must either repudiate her support for abortion or stop speaking publicly of her Catholic faith.
Pelosi has done neither. She called the recent Supreme Court ruling removing constitutional protections for abortion an “outrageous and heart-wrenching” decision that fulfils the Republican Party’s “dark and extreme goal of ripping away women’s right to make their own reproductive health decisions.”
And she has spoken openly of her Catholic faith, including at a diplomatic reception at the residence of the U.S. Embassy to the Holy See on Tuesday evening marking Independence Day.
Speaking to a crowd of ambassadors, Vatican officials and other Rome-based Americans, Pelosi spoke about the Catholic virtues of faith, hope and charity and the important role they play in the U.S. Embassy’s mission.
“Faith is an important gift, not everyone has it but it is the path to so many other things,” she told the crowd.
Pelosi met with Francis on Wednesday before the Mass and received a blessing, according to one of the Mass attendees.
Last year, President Joe Biden, another Catholic who also supports abortion rights, said after meeting with Francis that the pontiff told him to continue receiving the sacrament. Biden later received Communion during a Mass in a Rome church that is under the authority of Francis as bishop of Rome.
Pelosi’s partaking of the sacrament inside the Vatican during a papal Mass was even more significant, and a sign of Francis’ unwillingness to refuse the sacrament. Francis has described the Eucharist as “not a prize for the perfect but a powerful medicine and nourishment for the weak.”
Asked about some U.S. bishops who wanted to refuse Biden the sacrament, Francis told reporters during an airborne press conference in September that priests shouldn’t be politicians and condemn their flock but should be pastors who accompany the faithful with tenderness and compassion.
