Tatum, Brown, Gwill, Horford and Pritchard need more time on the floor together! Agree! That's just too difficult to defend, if you're the Bucks.

It had to be ime pushing for that I think the short rotation was because we were down a guard. So adding Theis would be adding a big, so that wouldnt exactly help. We have 2 guards right now in White and PP. So you lean on them for a game, knowing you have 3 days off upcoming. I honestly think the short bench was because 3 days off. Theis doesnt help you when you are short a guard. The short rotation is because that's what Ime wants right now. It's not because we're down a guard. When Smart was in, PP got, what, 11 minutes in game one including the beginning of garbage time. In my opinion, that's not being in the rotation. When Smart is available, PP gets minimal minutes, although he makes the most out of them. So the rotation is still very short. Heck, in game one, White played only 16 minutes while PP played 11. That is no time to get a rhythm on the court. You have to get RWill and Al more rest and Theis isn't a bad defender and he has 6 fouls to contribute.

Not sure why the complaining. I thought we adjusted well. Height is overrated, GWill is better than Theis at PF and C. GWill may be short but hes thick, stout, solid, and strong. Plus he has a huge ass that he uses well. He moves his feet well. Him and Horford were beasts on Giannis. And theres just no need for another big when you have a PF rotation of Horford, Grant, Tatum (when we're small) and a C rotation of Rwill, Horford, Grant. Maybe could have used Theis for 10 or so minutes to save some fouls on Rwill and some minutes for Horford who played a lot. But its no big deal. The ball movement was great, we were much more active and mobile on offense. Pritchard and Grant have turned into key contributors. And if they are knocking down shots (and I expect them both to keep knocking down shots) I have literally no idea why anyone would want us to shoot less (unless its a playstyle that you dont personally prefer, which is fine). But from an unbiased standpoint, having the shooters out there is great, as it opens up lanes for drives and allows us to drive and score (if its there) or drive and dish to a quality shooter (when its not). I see no reason to slow down on the offensive end. When they play overly physical, beat em w speed, ball movement and shooting. 3 days rest is huge for us. Last night saw two different Celtics offenses. We were clicking on all cylinders in the first half. Bottom line, we made our shots because we saw much better ball movement and sharing of the ball to the tune of 65 first half points. In the second half, our offense drastically slowed. With a short rotation, we cannot keep up the offensive pace in the 2nd half like in the 1st half. We scored only 44 points in the 2nd half. I'd say our offensive pace and efficiency slowed significantly. Part of the reason we're unable to take advantage in the paint when Giannis or Lopez are on the bench is because the guys are tired. Also when we're up 25, we don't have the mentality to go up 35. We rest and start chucking up 3-pointers after one pass. When Lopez is out the game, we should attack the rim and challenge Giannis and Portis. We don't do that. MIL is pressing the ball-handler at every point and that takes a lot out of you. That short rotation just may come back to bite us because from here on out, the series plays every other night beginning Saturday (includes travel for games 5, 6, and 7).

drewski6 is right on point , today!! The more shooters the better! Tatum, Brown, Gwill and Pritchard were a combined 19 of 33 on 3 point shooting! It's really simple, if Tatum and Brown score like they did last night, and Gwill or Pritchard can have good scoring night's, we'll win! Our defense was great last night, make Giannis beat you and stop the others! I actually thought White did his job last night, good defense and he advanced the ball better and quicker than anyone, he was a plus 23! At times when he was on the bench, I was wanting him put back in! Now we just need to win 1 in Milwaukee! thats ideal but we never had shooters. We do, they sit on the bench. I think that has been the summary of our team for years. That they struggle shooting. We could have used another grant williams. Like dancing bear.

But you dont need 2 centers in there at all times, and theres also Grant. I prob would have given Theis 10-12, but Im not beat up about it. Great win.

But this is the best shooting team we've had in a long time. At least since the Kyrie/Hayward years, and those teams didnt have bench shooting like we do and Tatum and Brown are better shooters now than they were then. This team is different than historically. I say keep shooting.

I think we watched a really good first half of the celtics last night. We were lucky they didnt make a full comeback. We had a good cushion. Is not sustainable. To beat the bucks or any playoff team, you have to be consistent for the 48mins. Ime wants White to work. In reality it is pritchard who is showing up, not white. Gotta play that hot hand more. When the offseason comes, i want an enforcer for situations like this. Someone that could actually play playoff minutes along with gwill. Semi was good like gw putting some resistance on gianis.

I think that our success in the second half has been that we can work inside out. Milw is stopping that. Letting us live or die by the 3

We can't afford to play bully ball. We are playing only 7 guys and 1 guy maybe 9 minutes.

Ime has already figured that out! I agree here. When they are focused on taking away the inside, and giving you the outside....You dont need an inside / out strategy. An inside / out strategy is to be used when you go inside, to make them overly focus on the inside to open up the outside. If they are already overly focused on the inside, then just take the outside if you have the shooters (and we do). A good analogy would be football. If a team has a great passing game, and going in the plan is to run, so the defenders stack the box, to create one on one matchups on the outside that you can exploit...And then you start the game, and the team is already stacking the box, leaving only a few guys in the secondary....You can change your plan as you dont need to use the run to open up the pass. As its already open. "Take what the defense gives you" > forcing a playstyle.

Probably didn't believe the others could beat us. Fair, and i went back and re-read your initial comment and realize you were talkin defensive strategy. And my comment was off-point. I agree with you on defensive strategy and a non-need to double team. Its not because of Giannis. Its because of Grant and Horford. They are capable of shutting down any PF/C without help. My point before was that our defensive floor is so high. Even with a non-optimal strategy, we're still amazing at D. And overall we did do a better job than it appears if you back out the pts off turnovers. This is the best defensive Ive seen since the early 2000 Pistons teams with Ben Wallace, Prince, Rasheed, Rip and Chauncey. And we're prob even better than that team was. Team has 6 elite defenders. Tatum, Brown, Smart, Horford, Grant, Rwill. Not even sure how id rank them against each other.

Ime has already figured that out! True. The Bucks already made it clear, if the Celts are to beat them, it has to be from the 3-point line. Bucks are really daring the Celts to shoot from 3. Celts just need to make them because they're open.

Celts attempted 43 3-pointers.
That's unheard of in the past.
The Bucks already picked their poison.
It's up to guys like GWill, Horford, PP, Smart, and White to make the Bucks pay.

You guys seem contradicting. On one hand you want the C's to make all the 3s to beat Milw. It is proven this aint gonna work because we dont have that quality shooting. Even Ime said after game 1 or 2 that we need to play inside. But yet you guys say we cant outbully. To me if you cant even out their physicality might as well stay home because we aint going to win this series via 3s. Keep dreaming if you think that we will win the series like that.
