I got yelled at watching the Gamecast on my phone at a formal event. The other guys understood. I could not believe RWill was ready to go and he looked like he has that bounce. That was a huge return for the Celtics. BKN seems to have nothing for the Celtics. If KD and KI play average, they have no shot. I knew we had them when Nash went to Blake Griffin. Tomorrow, no doubt, we need to close them out. We play with so much more confidence on the road than do most teams. I can't wait for tomorrow.
Ut Oh ... Petey's on the bus ... now we lose one.

Hedley votes yes. He's not faking that he sucks. It takes a lot of willpower to recover and get in shape. Lots of guys don't after they get rich PHI picked Embiid, Simmons and Fultz..............Ainge picked Smart, Brown and Tatum........... Simmons watched today's game and wants NO part of playing. If they win tomorrow, he'll have another mysterious injury for Game 5. 40 million dollars for a year off..........everything that is wrong with the NBA, all on display on one team. Harden, Simmons, Cryie and the guy who had Westbrook and Harden on his team and had to go to GSW to win.

Irving lacks accountability after pointing out Nets inability to ‘gel’ against Celtics
(Photo by Maddie Meyer/Getty Images) By Brian Robb | brobb@masslive.com
After delivering an offensive gem in Game 1 of the Celtics-Nets series, Kyrie Irving has been a massive disappointment for Brooklyn over the past two games. He followed a 10-point outing in Game 2 with an inefficient Game 3 on Saturday night, going 6-of-17 from the field and 0-of-7 from 3-point range. He did dish out nine assists in the setback but Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown soundly outplayed the perennial All-Star for the second straight contest, sending Brooklyn into a 3-0 series hole. For the second straight postgame, Irving also heaped praise upon his former team while trying to explain why the Nets find themselves just one loss away from a convincing first round sweep. “Being in a series like this with guys that are just trying to gel,” Irving said. “Usually you are jelling around at the right time and that group in the other locker room is jelling at the right time, they’ve been jelling since Christmas. For us, we’re in a new experience as a group and we just have to respect that. “I don’t wanna be cliche but I don’t have a lot of answers for how you make up time from October until now when teams would usually be jelling and things would be feeling good.” A lot of things have gone wrong for the Nets in this series. They’ve missed out on a key sharpshooter in Joe Harris for much of the season with an ankle injury. The roster was constructed with plenty of veterans that had less in the tank than anticipated (Patty Mills, LaMarcus Aldridge, Blake Griffin). The defensive flaws speak for themselves. However, the biggest thing that this group has not gelled well since October is perhaps the fact that Irving did not make himself available to play with the team for over half the season due to his refusal to get a vaccine. That absence likely helped pave the way for James Harden to ask out midway through the season, leading to what was a lackluster return in a trade for now with Ben Simmons not being able to suit up for this group before their season is essentially over. Irving will likely re-sign with the Nets this offseason but it’s safe to say his tenure has been a relative disaster to this point, highlighted by the drama he brought to the team this past year. Kevin Durant looks like a shell of himself in this series against Boston after having to carry this Nets team for months with Irving serving as just a part-time player. Irving can talk all he wants about not having a chance to build the chemistry the Celtics have together but his inability to acknowledge he’s a reason why it hasn’t happened speaks volumes. Brooklyn will have a chance to try to build themselves back into a contender next year with Ben Simmons and Joe Harris back at full strength. However, that path may be tough unless the team can find a coach or veterans that better hold Irving accountable himself.

I'm glad he's gone. We probably should have kept Rozier. I heard on the other game that Jaylen Brown also fasts for Ramadan, so Cryie's excuse is, once again, BS. I'm glad he's gone I'm glad the Man Made of Glass in gone I'm glad we got Theis over Kanter I'm glad we traded Richardson for White When we have TimeLord, best starting 5 in the league (GSW maybe??) Regardless of what happens, run it back next year. Limit Big Al's minutes, and have him fresh for the playoffs. Let's go Celtics!! Agree on all your points...

came here to delight in another surprising playoff win over the media hyped Nets and I read about old battles/disses from the past here. You guys are funny sometimes (not in a good way).
But, WHAT A GAME!! go out there next game and tear their hearts out early and watch the nets fold again. Maybe Irving can find the edge of the earth and jump off afterwards too!!
Fierce is known for rewriting history to expunge his bad predictions and wrong assumptions. It's important to point them out to him asap so he avoids the Trump philosophy of "if you tell them a lie over & over eventually they come to believe it."
Keeping history and Fierce straight ... somebody has to do it.
I'm not the one telling a lie here. The issue you brought up was about me wanting to trade JB. I told you I wanted JB traded when it was rumored that he was asking for a max contract. My proposal was trade JB for Beal. And was I lying about Tatum being Batman and JB being Robin? A number of posters here also agree with you, not so long ago, about JB going to be better than Tatum. Right now are you man enough to admit that you were wrong about JB surpassing Tatum? This season NBA analysts are talking about Tatum being an MVP candidate and Tatum being the face of the NBA for years to come.

The Trump philosophy here is not my doing.
Think about it, for a Celtics forum, there are only a few posters here.
Other Celtic forums have hundreds of members and game threads are always more than 7 pages.
It's very obvious this is the QAnon of Celtic forums.

It's time those who thought the Celts would trade Tatum instead of Brown or those who thought Brown was going to be better than Tatum to admit that it was a wrong assumption.
By the way, where's the new guy?
Didn't the new guy tell us last season that Tatum and Brown are not superstars and that Tatum and Brown have no shot against KD and Kyrie in the playoffs.

Toucher and Rich said this AM as I was sitting in unbelievable traffic on the 95 on ramp, that Simmons back injury is psychosomatic and that he needs a shrink. Said Howard Stern "cured" his back this way.
He has NO interest in playing. He may never play again...................

Lol, I went to another forum this weekend first time in a while and was surprised to see how many pages the game thread was...and then I realized that their pages had very few comments on them...was actually sort of annoying having to advance the page so often...and I did not find much additional insight...pretty much the same as what was being talked about here...got some knowledgeable basketball folks here...

Some of the posters here were even happy when the Celts lost to the Lakers, in Boston, after Kemba missed the potential game winning shot. pete and a couple of posters were happy because I ended up being wrong about the Celts beating the Lakers. The forum became toxic. I came back because this is the moment I've been waiting for. The new guy said KD and Kyrie are legit superstars and Tatum and Brown have no shot against them in the playoffs. Also, I come here and the first thing the Admin did was bring up old posts. Talk about the pot calling the kettle black.
