Found this: Boston Celtics TPE target No. 2) Derrick WhiteThe Spurs have already held exploratory talks with the Hawks on sending two-way guard, Derrick White to Atlanta. This should give Brad and the Boston Celtics enough motivation to put an offer in for the defensive ace.The 27-year-old fits the C’s defensive scheme nicely, only adding more fuel to the fire of a top defense. Always among the league leaders in charges drawn, White would be embraced by the hearts of Celtics fans everywhere. The prospect of having him locked up long-term means endless Tommy points. White is entering the prime of his career and fits the win-now timeline the Celtics should adopt. He is averaging 14.4 points and 5.6 assists per game. The Spur is having a down-year shooting but would be a tremendous counterpart to Marcus Smart forming a jailhouse backcourt defensively. He would be another playmaker/ball-handler to take away those burdens from the Jays. Also, he’s a tremendous on-ball stopper to guard the Stephen Curry’s or James Harden’s of the NBA world. White has shown the defensive versatility to guard up to three positions. This addition would make the C’s the unquestioned best defensive team in the league.

Spurs receive Richardson, Langford, 2022 top-four protected first-round pick Celtics receive White
The Spurs are receiving a significant haul for White, one of the league’s best perimeter defenders. Now in his fifth season, the 27-year-old is averaging 14.4 PPG, 3.5 RPG, 5.6 APG, 1.0 SPG, and 0.9 BPG through 49 games (30.3 MPG). White’s big weakness is an inconsistent outside shot, shooting just 31.4% from three-point range. However, he’s a solid finisher inside the arc, making 51.9% of his two-pointers and 86.9% of his free throws, both very respectable for a guard.

That’s a massive overpay for a guy who can’t shoot! What do the C’s need? SHOOTERS! What does Timmy pick up? Another non-shooter!

I don't like adding Langford AND the 2022 1st RDP addition but his contract is locked in for a few years:

This acquisition can mean Smart is being traded ... similar players but a better contract.

For a guy known primarily for his D, thats decent shooting. But agreed hes not a shooter. Hes a defensive specialist w some shooting.

Just read details of this trade and apparently the Spurs have the option to flip 1st round draft picks in 2028 with us if they desire! Whose rebuild goes better?! Better hope the ZJ’s continue to trip in Boston!

It should work if the J's can be consistent in the O.

What is the deal with non-shooters? The guy is a replica of Marcus Smart. What am I missing here?
We trade for a guy who is exactly like a guy we already have when, what we need are shooters.

Ain't gonna happen Petey ... they will move Schroder and maybe even Smart. If not in 10 minutes then this summer.
And there will be buyouts ... Maybe Brad will be quicker on the trigger than Danny was.
