Yankee & Red Sox game postponed....
This is very upsetting for a couple of reasons. First, the less important, we ate early so I could come home and watch this game. I knew that initially it was felt Pfizer and Moderna were 95% & 90% predicted to protect against the virus. But now I read the Yankees with vaccines got the virus. Very confusing stats out there. The virus is a scam I read. The FDA has not approved it & will not just do it because they are aware some are pending the vaccine because of it. Many worried their DNA will be affected. Many say the deaths are not all due to the virus but would have happened anyway. However, maybe my DNA will be affected in the future but at 82 years old I don’t care & so far I have no ill affects. I just know that I read that in areas where the people have had the vaccine, virus cases are down.
Getting into a touching political area I say I feel China caused this and its spreading around the world is of no concern. If they lose 1 million people, so what, I believe they feel. They don’t give a hoot about the pain around the world and especially about the US suffering. They shrug off accusations having perhaps the strongest military in the world so no one wished to stand up to them. Trump did and their allowing this to spread around the world, even if they didn’t purposely start it to do so, gets back at Trump. As I said, countries are afraid to accuse them and Biden and his administration will kiss their butts!
NEW YORK -- The Yankees' post-All-Star break opener against the Boston Red Sox on Thursday night was postponed because of positive COVID-19 tests among New York pitchers Jonathan Loaisiga, Nestor Cortes Jr. and Wandy Peralta.
Aaron Judge, Kyle Higashioka and Gio Urshela are also in COVID-19 protocols, sources told ESPN's Buster Olney.
Yankees general manager Brian Cashman said earlier Thursday that tests for three players were still pending, but he did not name them. He said he assumes the tests will come back positive.
All the Red Sox All-Stars who were in Denver have been asked to undergo additional testing on Thursday because they were told a Yankees All-Star had tested positive, sources told ESPN's Marly Rivera.
Judge, Gerrit Cole and Aroldis Chapman all participated in the All-Star festivities this week.
Loaisiga went on the COVID-19 injured list Saturday, when the Yankees were in Houston, and he did not travel home with the team Sunday.
Cashman said all three pitchers were fully vaccinated, as are most of the players on the team.
While vaccinations do not prevent a person from contracting COVID-19, it prevents severe effects.
"As of right now, everybody's OK," he said.
Cashman said Major League Baseball had not yet decided whether to postpone Friday's second scheduled game of the four-game series.
"We're in a very fluid situation right now," he said.
New York, fourth in the American League East at a disappointing 46-43, was among the first major league teams to reach the 85% vaccination threshold to lessen coronavirus protocols such as dropping mask use in dugouts and bullpens.
MLB said in its last announcement on June 25 that 23 of its 30 teams had reached an 85% vaccination rate among tier one individuals such as players and on-field staff. The Red Sox were not among them.
Despite all those vaccinations, the Yankees had more than a half-dozen positive COVID-19 tests in May involving staff, including pitching coach Matt Blake, third-base coach Phil Nevin and first-base coach Reggie Willits. Nevin, despite being vaccinated, became seriously ill with a kidney infection that kept him away from the team for more than three weeks.
No Yankees players tested positive then, though shortstop Gleyber Torreshad a false positive.
New York players were on the field Thursday, taking early batting practice about 3½ hours before the scheduled start, when the Yankees asked media to leave the field while the team conducted COVID-19 testing.
Boston, whose 55-36 record matched Houston for best in the AL, came onto the field as the postponement was announced to take batting practice.

Well It hasn’t quite effected the basketball year like it did in 2020. It doesn’t have to go against football in the ratings without fans One would think sense folks didn't travel much last year.. They would have stayed home and maybe watched more sports or old soap operas. How did you pass the time last year? Not with your wife. She was with me......... These numbers make no sense and why were arguing it even less......... I’m not even arguing anything, I just posted that the numbers were down pre covid. I know very well where my wife was…I was filming from the closet. I snuck out during the day to play some golf, but I came back every night. Under your bed was not very comfortable though

I love golf, hardest game on earth and im extremely good at it. Not sure what this has to do with the finals ratings though? Lol, 'extremely good' and humble as well...
At least you are correct in calling it a game, because it is certainly not a sport...
First, I wanted to agree with you that golf is not a sport but a game, and a very good mental game, and in terms of exercise swinging the club is about it unless you walk and not use the cart. And it does require skill more than athletic ability to win as opposed to sports, many with the better athletic ability win. I got a kick about an athletic friend who loves golf and I said, "why don’t you play tennis” and he said “he had enough trouble hitting a stationary ball”. Short comments: Giannis is the best player in the finals & best in the league. In the tournament now Booker is 2nd best and Middleton is 3rd best so Milwaukee have the best 2 out of 3 players. But I feel Phoenix has the best remainder of players so as a team I think they will ultimately be able to win.

You can call it whatever you want, you suggested I try it. I told you im already good at it. Funny though I can’t say I’m good at something but you can essentially call me brain dead cause this isn’t the best finals outcome No, i suggested that this is something you can watch instead of the NBA...super exciting stuff...

'While vaccinations do not prevent a person from contracting COVID-19, it prevents severe effects.'
It is not a magic insulating bubble that prevents it coming near you...it just prepares your body for when it does...personal choice...stupid is as stupid does...

The dumb fucks in Tennessee Ala and Missouri and some others are too fuckin stupid to get a vacine. You could call it natural selection....NBA numbers were down for several reasons. Off season, other sports, political signage included.

Well kids, saw the end of the game here...Bucks up three games to two?...How do you like them apples?...And some thought we werent going to have a series after the Suns went up 2 games to 0...
On another note, SF got to see another Red Sox/Yankee game shut down, but not from Covid this time...a Yankee fan evidently thought it was a good idea to throw a ball at our outfielder Verdugo...Coach Cora pulled the team off of the field...National TV...
And talking about the Nationals, their game was suspended when four people were shot just outside the stadium (Washington DC)...caused enough of a panic inside the stadium that Padres players opened the gated to the field so fans could come into the dugout and corridors below...lovely...our new national pastime, drive by shootings...

There have only been a few comments about the virus as there should be only a few as we are a Sports forum. It was mentioned about the Yankees-Sox game # 1 postponed because some Yankees had the virus and what alarmed me was they had been vaccinated. Pfizer and Moderna are said to be 95 & 90% effective...was this within the 5 & 10%...dunno. I have had the vaccines. As per Shakespeare's Hamlet comment “To Be or Not To Be”, I add the word “Vaccinated”. Many not so I’m sure feel it has not been FDA approved. Some may believe that the big pharmaceutical companies influenced the government regarding massive revenues was a major factor pushing for vaccinations, some fear its long term effects and the purported conspiracy theory it could change one’s DNA and some people just don’t like to be told what to do and also don’t like like needles. I saw some Marines faint getting a needle and then going in to the jungle in View Nam & not knowing if they’d survive the day. Don’t know if any among you have not had the vaccine?
Alas, a further troubling issue that now concerns us is Los Angeles is issuing a mask mandate to be re-instated this weekend and 10 additional counties across California are strongly, but not mandated yet, recommending the same. The medical consensus is that vaccinated people are not likely to spread the virus thus this is becoming a pandemic of the unvaccinated. LA says the mask mandate is also for those fully vaccinated while the University of California also said Thursday that students, faculty and staff must be inoculated against the disease to return to campuses. There has been a sharp increase in virus cases, many of them the highly transmissible Delta Variant that has proliferated since California fully reopened its economy on June 15 and did away with capacity limits and social distancing. The vast majority of new cases are among unvaccinated people. UC President Michael V. Drake said in a letter to the system’s 10 chancellors that unvaccinated students without approved exemptions will be barred from in-person classes, events and campus facilities, including housing. “Vaccination is by far the most effective way to prevent severe disease and death after exposure to the virus and to reduce spread of the disease to those who are not able, or not yet eligible, to receive the vaccine,” Drake wrote.
Beating a dead horse, I strongly urge everyone not vaccinated to get vaccinated for their sake and our sake so we can achieve herd immunity.
