Jayson Tatum & Jaylen Brown in, Marcus Smart & Kemba Walker (non-COVID illness) maybe out vs. ChicagoThis bug is hitting all of Boston’s top rotation players.By Andrew Doxy Ron Chenoy-USA TODAY Sports
Something (that’s not COVID-19) is flying around the Boston Celtics locker room, and it’s making it a point to hit all of the team’s top rotation players. Given the way that COVID has ravaged this team this season, maybe it shouldn’t be a surprise that the bubonic plague flu (or whatever other type of illness this is since it hasn’t been officially confirmed) has spread like a wildfire.
Jaylen Brown missed Saturday night’s contest against the Golden State Warriors, and while Jayson Tatum was listed as questionable because of an illness for the third time this season, both of Boston’s star forwards feel good enough to play tonight for the Celtics as they take on the Chicago Bulls. Unfortunately, the same can’t necessarily be said for the team’s starting backcourt.
It appears that Kemba Walker and Marcus Smart are next on this illness’s hit list, so both have been listed as questionable tonight. Additionally, Robert Williams remains out due to knee soreness (I am starting to get a tinge concerned about that), while Evan Fournier works his way back into shape after catching COVID-19. According to Brad Stevens, Fournier is out of quarantine, so now he just needs to take care of the reconditioning aspect.
The Celtics just can’t catch a break. You’ve seen the Hospital Celtics. Now, get ready for the Plague Celtics.
Hopefully everyone’s fine, the Celtics get over this bug, COVID stops attempting to annihilate this team, and everyone gets healthy as Boston approaches the final stretch of the season (with a very favorable 10-game stretch coming up).
The Boston Celtics take on the Chicago Bulls tonight at 7:30 PM EST.

Celtics injury report By Matt Vautour |
Evan Fournier and Robert Williams will both remain out of action when the Celtics host the Chicago Bulls Monday night. Jaylen Brown and Kemba Walker are both questionable and Jayson Tatum is expected to be healthy enough to play according to the team’s injury report that came out Sunday evening:
Bulls All-Star Zach LaVine, who is in health and safety protocols, will also miss the game.
Tatum and Walker are new additions to the Celtics’ injury list. It’s unclear when Tatum suffered his injury. He had 44 points and 10 rebounds in Saturday’s 119-114 win over the Golden State Warriors.
Walker was a late addition to the report, 30 minutes after the initial report came.
Walker, like Brown, has an illness that wasn’t connected to the COVID-19 pandemic. Brown missed Saturday’s win after scoring 40 points against the Los Angeles Lakers on Thursday. Their status will be updated Monday.
Fournier is no longer in quarantine but is working his way back into game shape. He hasn’t played since April 4. He entered the NBA’s COVID-19 protocols on April 6. He’s played just four games as a Celtics since being traded from the Orlando Magic.
“He still has a few days to go before he goes through all his tests and all that stuff,” Stevens said Sunday. “So it’s going to be certainly not (Saturday), certainly not Monday, and then we’ll go from there.”
Williams will miss his third straight game with a left knee injury. Tristan Thompson has started in his place. On Sunday, Stevens said a Williams’ return was close.
“He’s feeling better,” Stevens said. “I don’t know what Monday will look like, but he’s right around the corner from playing. So they re-evaluated him when he got back, and he did some things this morning.”

Tonight we get to judge Theis as a PF playing next to Vucevic at center ... if he excels I'll be pissed that all we got was Wagner/Kornet for him.
HELL ...I'm mad that that's all we got anyway! Wasn't there even a 2nd round draft pick included?

Danny sitting in with Scal tonight ... get your questions for Danny ready and maybe we can "twitter" him. The whole night as color? That's going to be weird, as Danny can't really say anything even slightly negative. A sad backdrop tonight for Chicago as Scottie Pippen loses his son to asthma
