I can't believe they finally trapped the best player on the other team at the end of the game! They got a turnover out of it when Beal fell on the floor and then they got a missed shot that would have won the game out of the corner. Way to grow up Brad! And only in his eighth season as Celtic coach.
Who knew?
To paraphrase another uber worldly leader amongst us...
..... one small step for CBS, one giant leap for the franchise!

I was thinking of who we may get to coach the Cetics if Brad leaves! I couldn't come up with anyone I'd rather have over Stevens!

Jeff Van Gundy compiled a record of 430 wins and 318 losses in his coaching career with the New York Knicks and Houston Rockets. He began coaching during the 1995 season and last coached during the 2006 campaign.
The Boston Celtics head coach since the 2013-14 NBA season, Brad Stevens has led the Celtics to the 2017, 2018 and 2020 Eastern Conference Finals, and through the 2019-20 season, he owns a 318-246 record with Boston (.564 winning percentage).

Is Pop Bringing Duncan and Leonard with him? Because he hasn't done much without them! The Clippers moved on from Doc! How's Kerr doing without Durant and Thompson?? I'll stick wit Brad!

Yeah, he played great D on that play So by this statement you believe that the players decide what type of defense they play? No, by this statement I mean the players play the game. The coach doesn't. He coaches. Obviously they did what was drawn up.........by the coach. Which means they haven't tuned him out, as some have suggested. If/when they do, I'll say he needs to go. But we made it to the ECF last year, lost a star player, and have been fighting injuries all year............hard to see how Brad has "grown up."

I personally like Nate Mcmillan running style which is how i always envisioned this young celtics team. Also like Joerger. Joerger is one of those that does alot with what he has and its not aftaid of holding guys accountable.

FINALLY!! Good for you. He's one of the best in the league, and we are lucky to have him By your philosophy, why even ever change a coach? I'm sure the truth is in the middle No, you go by your judgement taking various factors into account. How do the players develop? Are the players under performing? How good is the game plan if the players execute it? Is the game plan prepared taking players and their abilities into consideration?
You also have to consider the quality of the roster and make allowance for players falling short in their individual performance. You also have to consider the uncontrollable variables, sometimes shit just happens: ball bounces the wrong way at the wrong time.
After that if the judgement call is that the coach is coming up short, replace him.
Doc and Brad are very different coaches. Brad prepares a very methodical game plan. The players have to execute. He does not rely upon players kicking it into that extra gear to a huge extent.
Doc believes that players playing inspired ball and with inspired effort is the key, the plan is secondary. So he has invested in making Embiid believe that he is All-World. He left an envelope with money in the Lakers locker room.
Each plan has flaws. However, if the players under perform, each will break.

Little reason to believe that Brad has "grown up" at all.
I'm calling the game winning defensive stop....
... ^^^ for what it is!
FLUKE!!!!
Besides, I saved Brad's bacon myself by calling this puppy a Celtic win... in advance... going away.
And I have witnesses!

Lol
Well, I say it was drawn up, good execution.
Beal was forced to kind of do a no-look rainbow by feel and knowing his spot. He damn near got it in by using the force. We got lucky. Against Dallas we got unlucky...twice
Bedlam tonight!

Anyone who thinks those guys double teamed on their own, with no direction at all, will never give Brad any credit for anything. Falling down was a fluke. Double team...........not so much.
ECF last year, lost a key player, been battling injuries all year..............NOT on the coach.

Agree, but to the bolded portion. I think that literally goes with every coach in the league

Jeff Van Gundy Doc Rivers Greg Popovich Steve Kerr I could go on... All of which have never won anything without dominant players we have dominant players. Two as a matter of fact. Thry could show more but who is in charge of motivating its players? Year after year i see guys coming here to pin point to what we dont have but they forget to mention what we do have. Year after year same guys (myself included) come here wanting to trade. Now we are just losing talent that performs elsewhere. These talents escaping are IMO someone not trying to address the right guy.

They have 2 young players with high potential. Like I’ve said since I joined this forum is that we crowned them as superstars way too early. Simply scoring 24ppg doesn’t make you a superstar, these 2 guys have a long way to go in terms of being all around basketball players who control the game and make others better If you need to be motivated as a professional athlete, then it’s the athletes problem. How is it Brads fault they care more about the all star game than regular season games? They’re young and immature, they’ll Learn
