See, I disagree. He was basically hurt here for three years, and still got a big contract offer. MJ wanted him when he was restricted FA MJ wanted him when he signed with us MJ wanted him last year It's only logical to reason that MJ would want him again after this year, for the same money (if hurt) or even more (if he plays well and is his "normal" self) MJ would over pay for him - stupid is as stupid does 34 million dollar mistake If given the choice of 34 million for one year, with no guarantees after that, or 120 million for 4 years, which would you take?? That's not the point, I'm not a selfish, greedy bastard. If it were me, I'd want to prove myself, and I'd take the 34 million, thinking I OWED the team that showed faith in me for the past three years.........but that's me

But Tony had a tendency to do more dumb things than Smart.
Remember how he broke his knee on an unnecessary wide open after whistle dunk?

Usually I don't care. But I seem to recall that Tony was offered EXACTLY the same contract between us and MEM and he chose MEM. If he was offered more money or more years, then fine. Also, on his way out the door he said he wasn't being utilized properly by Doc...............didn't sit well with me then, doesn't sit well with me now. He said he was a "good" offensive player who never got plays called for him......something like that. I'm okay with Tony, because he was easily replaced.

Tony got what he wanted, national recognition and more playing time and a larger role. That's why he left. These guys only get one career. They don't want to have regrets for selling themselves short by staying in a career backup role. The same reason Hayward & Kyrie left. Kyrie has clearly always wanted tonplay in the places tgat have meant something to him. Boston where his parents met. New York area where he grew up. Players have different motivations and values and it shows. Like Mchale skipped out on the team for a Christmas day game because he felt it was more important to be at home with family.

If he's a liability on defense and his offense can't compensate for it, he needs to go at the trade deadline.

Watching Bucks vs. Pels.
Another DNP for JJ Redick.
Looks like Redick will be so available if the Celts want him.
