Man, the heat schedule is murder right now. They may end up losing like 6 in this stretch (3 so far)

Tyler Johnson waived Ainge always liked him.......??
Your point?
Danny isn't about to cut anyone from the current roster for a buyout.
He wouldn't spend his draft capital on an upgrade at the deadline (he wouldn't part with mediocre at best first round picks and end of the bench prospects like Portier, Edwards, Green or Waters) cuz he sees this as a bridge year. He doesn't see us winning the EC and advancing to the Finals so he won't relinquish his "valuable" assets for a rental only to be knocked out in round 2 ...
He's pretty much said that a few times here either in print or on the radio ... forget about this season, your GM has.
Now if that doesn't piss you off about Danny, what will?

Green Envy: What Thunder fans said, 2/10 By Ahaan Rungta ![](https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-__I7ptXyIls/Xj4zSDBywqI/AAAAAAAAImY/cN_hoyAfa_4WqSYWEZ0FZGDB06MWx-FwwCLcBGAsYHQ/s640/greenenvy.jpg) With the Celtics buckling up to play 6 of a stretch of 7 games on the road, they looked to extend a winning streak in OKC on Sunday afternoon. They did just that against 2020 All-Star Chris Paul and his troops. The Thunder, poised for a surprise appearance in the playoffs, have played well recently as well, having won four in a row before falling to Boston in a 1-point thriller in which Marcus Smart made the game winning steal. How did their fans handle the heartbreak at home?
Top 3
1. [Gordon Hayward] probably wishing he could produce male heir 2. [Marcus Smart] should go to the WWE 3. All the You Just Lost To memes
Some respect?
Boston is just a great defensive team
Celtics are tough, no shame
Boston’s a good team, so can’t be too upset I guess
Boy Tatum is a monster lmao
Some backhanded criticism
Boston is going nowhere in the playoffs. They are not close to the best in the east.
Tatum is ripping us apart but Jaylen Brown’s defense is overrated.
And then the rest of the slate
Wanamaker is such a hilarious name He shares it with the world’s largest pipe organ
Gordon Hayward was left too wide open for too long on that last three. He missed because he had time to glance at all the happy couples at the game with little boys and girls in tow. Probably wishing he could produce a male heir. Author’s Note: What?
I got the Boston stream today. I feel like I’m cheating on Cage and Fisher [OKC commentary] but I don’t care
... and of course, it wouldn’t be a Green Envy without some Marcus Smart commentary
He should go to the WWE
I hate him
Marcus Smart of course
What ever happened to flop fines! Lol
Finally, the memes by the Celtics fans on the Thunder media—I’ll put my favorite ones here (Yes, I know, this is cheating, this is Green Envy, it’s supposed to be Thunder fans, I’m prioritizing the important memes, shhh.)

Considering where we'll be picking from ... YES.
We'd have Bird Rts to resign Bertans who is the best 3pt shooter in NBA History for the current season. I understand matching salary could have been an issue and cost us 2-3 prospects but who cares as long as Smart wasn't one of them and we got a piece that could be a regular rotation guy for years to come vs what those picks would have brought us.
And if DA didn't wait so long and spend so much time on Bertans he may have been able to work a deal for another shooting big like Bjelica who has another year on his contract and wouldn't have required 2 FRDPs.
That said, I still SMH that he didn't get moar involved for Capela. I think he'll regret this unless he can get a Thompson for the vet minimum on a buyout but that's not looking very likely at this point.

Well, other than that, we don't really know what other teams wanted in trades. Rumor was HOU wanted Smart for Capela. Are we even that close to MIL where one player will take us over the top? He didn't like any deals that were out there.............I'm fine with it

Posted this same thing on the trade thread...
Well, I guess Danny feels that Kanter and Theis are doing ok...and RWill is coming back...the only thing is we do not have enough roster spots for all the rookies and the picks coming up...big issue...

there's something weird where I'm pressing quote but getting edit on the phone. it's happened before. i kind of wish I could just turn the mod thing off till I need it My opinion on the edits. It's not fair to change more than one word in a post.. You did a fine job back two months ago changing three or more of my words.. I said nothin.. It was fuuny. I suggest deleting the whole posts.. Folks here don't cotton to changing a few words. and Quaig Elvis and myself have already caught on.. It would be of more help to me to teach me English.... Not mid western however.. Middle or East Anglia please... No c**kney either....

If you look at my posts, I edit (add to) my posts a lot. I don't like to do a lot of quoting, especially of long posts as it trashes up the thread. So maybe instead of quoting I'm editing? Heck if I know. If I ever edit something I put "edited by Cole" in there to let you know.
I know I've done it though, because I've done it to admin.

If I edit something, it makes note of it at page bottom ...

I would have given up all 3 of our picks for Bertains, we don't need any more picks, and Bertains would have put us over the top!

I dont think the problem was not giving up enough for Bertans, I think the problem was tunnel vision. Danny targeted a guy, who was just not on the block. The Wiz did not want to give up Bertans , so every time they threw out a price, and we got close to it, the price increased. Maybe we could have gotten Bertans but we would have had to significantly overpay because Was just did not want to trade him. We should have given up on Bertans and went after someone whose team was looking to move. There were plenty of guys who were on tradable contracts (we wouldnt have to touch the core 5), who are on non playoff teams, that would have helped us. Markieff Morris, Derrick Rose come to mind. I still think we could have been the third team in on that Capella trade and made the trade better for everyone involved.
I can see us going after a buyout candidate, but unless its a surprise buyout of a good player, the player being bought out is probably not enough to crack our rotation. And thats assuming they even choose us.
We are now in a place where when we get to the playoffs, we will be relying on a bench of Wannamaker, Smart, Langford, Semi, Kanter to produce offense. Im not ruling it out, and dont think our bench is so bad that we are destined for an early exit. But I do think we could have and should have added some firepower to the second unit.

I think we can all agree that Langford's importance to this team has increased significantly in recent weeks. He's getting more PT, and we didnt make a move at the deadline. Considering he wasnt getting much PT, he's kind of like an acquisition. RWill will also feel like an addition when he comes back, assuming he can stay on the court.

Your first paragraph is what I have been saying. WAS did not want to trade him. The asking price was very high, and they could have just kept raising it. He would have been a nice addition, but where do you stop? I've also been saying all year we need bench help. Smart, Kanter and Wannamaker will be fine off the bench, but they don't always add points in bunches. Brad will have to keep two of Hayward, Brown, Walker and Tatum on the floor at all times.
