cant believe kyle guy was still there. Why couldnt we pick him over a 5ft PG is beyond me. I dont know honestly. Either we dont have it right or our scouting flat out sucks.

When Celts had stars like Kyrie and Horford, some Celts fans were unhappy. Now that Kyrie is gone, more Celts fans are unhappy. This is what Boston gets for being ungrateful for having star players. The Lakers never traded Kobe Bryant after the rape incident in 2003. I get that Kyrie is not the most likable person in the world. But Kyrie is a great basketball. Teams are lining up to offer Kyrie the max. But some Boston fans want Kyrie out. This is the result. The Celts will now be a team closer to the lottery than the NBA Finals. Don't blame Celtic fans for Kyrie's leaving.
Blame Kyrie. It was his doing.
Kyrie was a cancerous growth on this team... something you don't seem to want to recognize.
It wasn't that he was unlikable. He was immature, selfish, divisive and destructive... a prima donna.
Why should Celtic fans be grateful for his arrogance and lack of constructive leadership on and off the floor?
They rightly want him gone... and you should too.
You on the other hand.... you were dead wrong about Kyrie's value to this team and now you are PO'd because he is headed out of town, making you look like the fool that you became kissing his azz non-stop and touting his "superstar" play.
If some other team wants to be foolish enough to pay him the big bucks to destroy their franchise too, it serves them right.
What Kyrie did in Cleveland and Beantown should put other teams on notice that KI has a serious downside that should make them very cautious to sign him to a big contract, a contract that they will likely regret not too far down the road.
AH is a completely different story.
He is a good citizen and will be missed in Boston. His leaving likely had little to do with KI's situation.
He wanted too much $$$ and DA was wise to balk at Al's contract demands.
Pud
They have taken notice ... some have said they are reluctant to make him an offer, others have bowed out and the Nets have said w/o Durant or another star attached to Kyrie they may opt out.

I haven't been this disappointed since we took Marcus Smart, over Julius Randle! Cm'on man! Who was the savior in this draft? Our season will be flushed because we will lose a very talented head case and an elder statesman who was getting more elder than statesman.

I haven't been this disappointed since we took Marcus Smart, over Julius Randle! Me since Rozier and I was wrong with Rozier. But I understand you. Its really frustrating. We have not picked by necessity and looks like we have not picked by talent either.

That guard from Yale is still available and we have some time yet to trade for an undiscovered talent in the last ten picks.
Don't laugh ... GSW got him.

Send Danny an email and tell him to save this for future reference: 15. Detroit Pistons: PF Sekou Doumbouya, France
The Pistons probably didn't think he'd be available here, and neither did I. Doumbouya has a top-10 skill set, and he is 18 with so much potential. He's a great talent defensively but also growing into it as an offensive player. This is a play for the 2021-22 season. Grade: A
Unpolished physical specimen with the potential versatility at the forward spots to be a mismatch nightmare if his skills continue to develop.
Shades Of: Tranquilized Pascal Siakam, Al-Farouq Aminu, Trevor Booker
PLUSES
Outstanding physical tools with a thick frame and long arms; he’s a fluid above-the-rim athlete who can dunk or block shots from afar.
Theoretically a versatile defender due to his blend of strength, length, and mobility, though he needs to stay locked in and dramatically improve his fundamentals.
Productive rebounder.
Good footwork on drives to the rim; his handle is still catching up, but his feet look natural on Eurosteps and rip-throughs; he played soccer growing up and his agility translates to the court.
Assertive offensive player with a quick first step and alluring shot-creation skills for his size.
Solid post scoring potential. He moves well and gets to his hook shot, but lacks advanced moves.

22. Boston Celtics: PF Grant Williams, TennesseeWhat is he exceptional at? He's exceptional at playing basketball. He's not as tall or athletic, no, but he played in the most athletic league in the country and got where he wanted to get. Look back at a recent drafts -- at a different position: The same things people say about Grant Williams, they said about Fred VanVleet, Jalen Brunson. NBA GMs are learning: Just take guys who are awesome at basketball. Grade: B33. Philadelphia 76ers (from Cleveland via Orlando and New York): PG Carsen Edwards, PurdueThe Celtics, who traded for this pick, could use a microwave scorer. And Edwards brings that to Boston. He's a microwave scorer who can fill it up off the dribble, off the catch and running off screens. Grade: A
51. Boston Celtics: PG Tremont Waters, LSU
With so much uncertainty surrounding Boston -- especially at the point guard position -- Waters brings great value as a steady-handed ball-handler capable of doing everything an NBA starting point guard can do. At the very least, a great insurance piece at an important position. Grade: A

I wanted the guy and my pick for #14 vs Langford's Grade C:
17. Brooklyn Nets: SG Nickeil Alexander-Walker, Virginia Tech
The Pelicans made this pick as part of a trade with the Hawks, who owned it. When I was covering the Maui Invitational with a ton of great players this past fall, Alexander-Walker's name came up with more than any other. He checks a ton of boxes and does a lot of things well, and he fits the Pelicans' needs next to Zion Williamson. Great pick. Grade: A

Lets hope that the Celts get the benefit of an injury here. Last time this happened, they had found a decent one in Avery Bradley. Sullinger had also slipped to them because of injury but that was not a success story.
