With only Jarrett Jack and Brook Lopez left as quality starters, it's clear BRK is blowing it up to start over and the C's will benefit by having the right to swap picks next draft ...
but, would it behoove us to engage them in discussions for Brook Lopez even if the swap was part of the discussion?

Lopez is a very good offensive center and decent rebounder on a (now) reasonable contract. Not much of a rim protector. If healthy, he is worth pursuing, he would be a monster upgrade on any center we have had in a long, long time. The swap is a steep price though.

If you were BKN, would you deal with Dany Ainge again?

If you were BKN, would you deal with Dany Ainge again? point ... but maybe they would to expunge the swap rights we have next year. Is Lopez worth giving up a top 5 pick in the supposedly loaded draft next year?

I wouldn't give up the swap rights for Lopez, but I'd consider a trade for him. I think they're going to want way too much for him since he's their only real asset though. Maybe the Clippers pick next year, Rozier and Jackson as a start? I think they'll want more, but it gives them a couple of PG possibilities, and a first rounder in addition to wherever the Celtics pick lands. THey gave up Young for much less, so it might be worth it to ask. It also makes them worse for next year.

If they just want to expunge Lopez's salary for picks or young prospect to restart a rebuild then Boston is the best match for a deal. We have multiple picks of theirs and others as well as a treasure trove of prospects ... It be worth exploring if an offensive center is preferable to a rim protector. If Zizic can be the rim protector then Lopez can fill the offensive need down low.

Agree, not worth trading next years picks. There is a good chance some of these assets can be traded next year for someone like Butler. No reason to trade these picks now unless we get a big fish in FA.

Hopefully it's the first pick anyway were overdue to hit the ping pong balls

I read that Danny wanted Noel and next year's lakers pick for #3 this year. Can you imagine that? The lakers are going to suck again, and we know how "good" BKN will be....LOL

If you were BKN, would you deal with Dany Ainge again? If I was getting either pick back, absolutely. Nothing is more demoralizing then knowing you are terrible and not even having a top pick to show for it. Thats why I was pissed about the Thad Young thing. We have all the leverage over them. We could name any price for their 2017 pick back. Lopez, I would consider. I think its more about do we want to do business with them or do we want to aim higher.

I think the 2017 pick should be too good. The 2018 I'd think about though. Any other pick, and I'm in.

My money is that the 2017 pick will be a #3 pick. Other teams will start losing on purpose, as they fall out of it, and the Nets will have no reason to.
