No offense to Amir, seems like a great guy, but I don't foresee any more healthy seasons for him.

If we strike out on Durant, lets go after 2 centers. Whiteside and Horford would be ideal.
Starters: Thomas,Bradley,Crowder,Horford,Whiteside. THAT'S the kind of size we need! Whiteside at PF and Howard at Center might be damn effective too.

Many combos would work. How about Anderson and Horford? Batum and Howard? As long as we get better, I'm good!

I dont love Howard, but he and horford would give us a solid starting 5 and we could easily afford them. Pass on Anderson, he is broken, and I dont think Whiteside can play anything but center. Crowder, Howard,Horford, IT, Bradley with Brown, Smart, KO, Johnson, the first 4 off the bench. Hunter, Jackson, Mickey, Zizic, Bentil, Jerebko round out the team. That is about 96 million, assuming you pay both howard and Horford 23.

It's looking like we have the potential to establish a tough , gritty, physical team. I would love to see us embrace this and try to bully our way through the playoffs. If in two years we have Turner, Smart, Brown, Crowder, Yabusele, and Howard all on our team - I'm pretty sure that team could just play a dirty, hardnosed, physical game and bully 29 teams. The dynamics/trend of the league (soft) makes guys like Howard a possibility. If this was 5 years ago, the demand for a player like Howard would be higher. We should take advantage.

I like the team.

I had jerebko in there. I have said before I like Turner a lot, i went with amir for when/if DH is injured/resting as our only other rim protector. but i am good either way...

If Howard prefers the Hawks Horford will be available. ....I'm with Whiteside, young and entering his prime, but we have not heard his name from a meaningful source yet. If they are going with 2, Gasol would be a good pair (IMO it's one big and a shooter).

The C's do not value the "5" position....judge them by what they do, not by what they say....if you use this guideline, you easily come to the conclusion that they lack the ability to select decent centers or even acquire them through trades. The people they have signed from overseas so far have been awful, especially compared to the relative success other teams have hade with bigmen from other countries. Let's face it, "5's" are to DA as wide receivers are to Bill Belichick. They just can't pick em' That sums it up pretty well. No one wants to face anyting they just want to dream.

Can any one tell me why getting Horford is going to help get Durant?. Are they friends? Has Durrant ever mentioned he would like to play with Horford? Horford looked so bad in the playoffs i would think just the oppposite. You guys make up scenarios that have no factual basis.
Show me some I love Horford quotes from Durrant.

Reportably that his main desire. You didn't here alot about any of our draft picks from a meaningful source either. No one gets a peek at Ainge's hand i thought we all knew that.

Too many red flags with Whiteside for me. This is a guy that should have been in the league and not outside begging to get in. Then there is his self characterization, "A businessman who is a basketball player." Sorry but I don't want to risk another Mark Blount or Andrew Bynum or, as Hedley pointed out, Javale Mcghee.

This might be a the first one so far that's meaningful. The rest are bunk.http://www.msn.com/en-us/sports/nba/report-joakim-noah-to-sign-with-knicks-for-around-dollar18-million-per-season/ar-AAhNs1w?li=BBnba9I Fairly cheap

Oh, no doubt. I think any team would love to see Durant and those type of caliber players on their team,” Smart told reporters. “But we’re not the ones that make that call, so we just kind of sit back and wait. And whatever decisions that the front office makes, we’re ready to run with it. Read more at: nesn.com/2016/06/only-one-thing-is-keeping-marcus-smart-from-recruiting-kevin-durant-to-celtics. Good response from Smart. He doesn't pretend to have any influence like Thomas claims to have. I hope he finds his shot this year. I really want to like this guy.As much as i said he's no PG in this league if Rozier fails i would like to see him given a chance at the point. He at least can play some D and rebound unlike the one trick pony

I think we agree that IT is a great scorer off the bench, but c'mon now, he's our best offensive player.

despite what some think and write I don't think the Celtics will pay two top dollars guys (meaning ovar $20M each).
on one other note:
am I the only one that sees that siging both Sully and Turner to "market deals" ( $12-14m) puts us right above that Minimum salary for next season?
now THAT would be a very Danny off-season.
Kick that can down the road......the can with those assets (that I guess no one wants)
