Against the Bucks, Maker and Giannis was making it hard for the Celts to drive to the basket. With Philly, it was Embiid making life difficult for the Celts in the paint. Who do the Cavs have to guard the paint? Answer: NONE! As I said earlier, the Cavs aren't as quick/athletic as the Bucks (Giannis) or Sixers (Embiid/Simmons). Playing the slower, older core and inexperienced bench is a respite for the C's after the Bucks and Sixers. That said, we will see more of Thompson and maybe even Nance and/or Zizic. Thompson, Nance, and Zizic are no match for Baynes and Monroe. I think it's a trap if the Cavs will be forced to go big. Brad will unleash Monroe and Baynes. Right now it's just a case of the Celts having the better team and the Cavs having the best player. The end result will be the better team wins.

I agree ... they are more likely to stay with their game 1 plan but fix the black holes and expect to shoot under less pressure by producing more clock time with an accelerated pace.

If they have the energy to force the pace. I guess they should since they walked through the last game with little interest. The black hole that cost them the last game was named Kevin Love. When I rewatched the game that guy wasn't even paying attention.

... and yet there were comments here about how great he was ... I suppose if one's just paying attention to his low post offense & rebounding skills you come away with that impression.
I think like James, Love doesn't have the conditioning to play extended minutes and needs a breather otherwise he loses focus on defense. But then again, they all seem to lose focus on defense as they are so offensive oriented.
PS: Not that James isn't "conditioned" but for the energy consumed, he's on the floor too long to expect him to play with the same intensity especially in a few rounds of series leading up to the finals. Love on the other hand looks less conditioned and as always, seems soft and unusually susceptible to injury or mental fatigue.

Weren't we all hot/bothered about the prospects of signing "soft" K Love not that long ago?
And now we are "stuck" with J&J, two budding AS wings.
No regrets on this end!!!
Anybody?

If we doesn't include me. I liked him until the moment he won't the 3pt contest and retired forever from hard-nosed basketball

With more minutes going to Tristan in game 2, I don't mind the Celts going bigger. I want to see 30+ mins for Horford, Tatum, and Morris. I would like to see Baynes getting mixed in amply too. You can get away with Morris at the 3, because he can guard LeBron and stretch the floor. I'd almost like to see 3 of Morris, Horford, Tatum, Baynes on the floor as much as possible.

Don't forget Greg Monroe.
There's no one on the Cavs roster who can guard Monroe in the low post.
