His play in the playoffs doesn't warrant this. Sign Gasol on a two year deal by then we should have some youngsters who can hold their own.

I agree, better value in Gasol and a better low post scoring threat.

Gasol suits us better especially sense he will take a two year deal. Yes we need low post scoring not another outside three shooter.

Gasol may go to SAS - just read it today I didn't see that but it makes a lot of sense if they have the cap space.

I wanted Pau two years ago, when he went to the Bulls. Horford is an upgrade over Amir and Sully, however. I read Duncan may retire, and Pau gets his roster spot. It would have to be at less money than we can pay him, however. Chasing the ring - I have no problem with it - unless it's Durant going to GSW - lol!

Horford looked bad against the Cavs last night. Other than a few blocks he was a non factor against our not so good bigs. Expecting him to hold his own against the best seems like a pipedream.

Maybe he should not get a "max" deal, but the question remains is he better than any F or C we have?

Some team will overpay for his services this summer. The questions are, 1. Should it be us? 2. Would having him onboard convince Durant to sign with us?

Only after we get Butler, Whiteside or another player by trade or FA signing ... then get Horford if he's the best available and likely to help in persuading Durant. Horford alone won't do it ... no sense in saddling yourself with that contract until we have another piece first, then if we must overpay for the 2nd to assuage KD, so be it.

We could say the same about 50 or so players in the NBA He's over 30 and most likely will decline over the next 4 years. If he was a player who could make us a genuine contender next year maybe .We can do better i hope.

Only way I'd overpay for him would be if he'd be the difference between KD and no KD.

I hate to say this but if the Nets hadn't made probably the worse trade in NBA history we would be in a not so good position. We'll never see such a lopsided trade again the rest of our lives. Hopefully in a couple years we can be where they are.

I wonder if the NBA let's the Spurs sign Durant ... smells like when the NBA estopped the Lakers from getting too powerful and upsetting the balance of power too much with Chris Paul. The circumstances were different but I wonder if it wasn't more about balance than the trade pieces.

Yes the biggest market in the NBA . Walton is well respected by players around the league but that's all they have to offer.

They could make the playoffs with Durrant and James.

I still say Durant stays in OKC. It might only be for one year, with a PO, but I don't think there is any better way for him to win a title. Sure, he could go to GSW or SAS, but would he really do that? I don't know.

I not so sure with Leonard there he's a real target for them anyway.
