Rozier's recent play and Pud's assurance Smart will hit a lot of game winning shots signing a shooting guard isn't needed. Hedley said Larkin would be a an big asset . That remains to be seen. Stand pat Stevens will get better with this team as the season progresses. We need a big. We need a big. YUP !!!

Reading some posts about picking up either Lou Williams or Tyreke Evans and maybe giving up Semi I see the logic of wanting a scorer off the bench. Because other than Irving, a 20 point consistant other scorer has been scarce. It’s unfortunate because as we know that other scorer was to have been Hayward. But last night with Irving only getting 11 points, we had some good scoring from others and the bench. I would not trade Semi and disrupt the chemistry of this team because Hayward will be back. What do you think that most teams facing us fear….OUR DEFENSE !!! No one has our defense…Warriors, Houston, OKC & Cavs have 3-4 good scorers but they rely mostly on offense to win games and we really only have Irving. Maybe we can win a championship holding opponents to under 100…Cleveland’s total last night was the lowest of the year.
Let me tell you who Semi reminds me of and has the potential to be just as good. He’s 6’7” and 235 lbs…Draymond Green is 6’7” and 230 lbs and a great defender albeit flies off the handles & draws many techs. We have been reluctant simply to add a dinosaur biggie in the paint mainly as a clog on defense but still a pretty good rebounder and scorer is secondary. The free agent market has been scarce. Semi was a great defender in college. When we drafted him Crowder was quick to go. And like Draymond despite being a fairly sizable person, I don’t mean a 7 footer, but as opposed to 6-3…6-5 guards, he’s able to move quickly laterally and he’s awesome at using his size and 7 foot wing span to keep bigger opponents from establishing deep post possession against him. Ask LeBron about his defense…HA! Oh ya, and like Draymond, he does like to shoot 3s.
Wanna trade him…even up for A. Davis….OK…only California dreaming !!!

Hedley said Larkin would make the team and be a good 3rd PG. THAT is what Hedley said.

Larkin has been great in his spot. He's done exactly what has been asked of him. He tries on D too. At least he tries to stay in front of his guy.

He may go a couple in a row and noy play, but when he does, he's very consistent. Shoots a little better than I remember as well.

See, I disagree. I don't think this will be a Celtics win. We have played so inconsistently lately and although the Cavs have loss their last four away games, they'll put it together tonight against us. Last night, their big guns did not play a lot of minutes so they'll be up for this so-called "statement game". And they have bench depth that will prove the difference. If we cannot match DWade, Korver, Thompson and Jeff Green off the bench, we won't be able to compete. I predict we'll do our customary "get down by 16-20 points" and then work to close that gap but eventually fail and lose handily. If we make it close at the end, it won't be a moral victory because we will have most likely been thoroughly outplayed for the majority of the game. I would not be surprised by a Celtics win but I just don't see our bench matching their bench AND we'll probably get a "dud of a game" from Baynes and two of either Horford, Brown or Tatum (two of them will likely be non-factors). Rozier 20 points and Smart 15 points off the bench. Fierce, good seeing you. Of course, I'm sure you were not surprised by our bench production. You probably predicted, opps "knew" it. I'm also sure you weren't surprised by the Celtics winning "going away" with Kyrie scoring only 11 points. Last night was probably their best game together as Celtics (Rozier, Smart). How great it would be if they continued this level of play on the 2nd unit.

Last night the right one took more shots. That helps.

Last night the right one took more shots. That helps. Actually, the right one took fewer shots but made more of them. That being Rozier.

A lot of rozy's points were dunks though, right? Maybe in terms of jumpers?

Must be two Larkins on this team. I suppose I'm following the wrong one.
He played 6 minutes last night and 3 minutes the game before. We won both games. That's consistent spot on.

Some times he may not play, some times he may play a bit more. Someone here said he wouldn't even make the team.....wrong again.
Anyone remember the days when we didn't have to read about "the Midget" and "Brinks truck" and "Tatum is s career bench player?"
Yeah, I long for those days - good times!

My advice would be to file another former complaint against the asshole.
Guess what? . He doesn't give a shit.

Calm down Hedley I not interested in a conflict. No more Brinks Truck Comment. The Tatum pick looks like the work of a genius that being Ainge. I was wrong . I happy with the teams direction and even agree with you on next year since Hayward is out.
I don;t think I threated your life. You have two young daughters that would suffer terribly. I like kids even yours. I just wanted to put a couple knots on your head. Either way I was out of line.
It's belated but I hope you had a great Christmas in Mass with your family and I'm sincere not joking. Spent mine a the 7/11 down the street in Merdia. Took lots of drunks home for free.
It would be nice to joke with you without you getting upset. The Larkin comment was a joke he's a fine 3rd PG. Mostly insurance Stevens plays him just enough to keep his head in the game that' about it. Sometimes he pick splinters as I predicted.
Rozier or Portis if you could choose now.

Hey, I have never been happy to be wrong before :-) Sure, Hedley probably has reasons to be upset. I buried my hatchet with Dfries a while back. We even have a friendly wager on whether the Lakers pick will covey in 2018 or not. Dfries will be Dfries and and as long as things don't personal, lets give each other room to express ourselves. Not demanding. Just a request. This one has potential to be a great season and that is exciting.

Rozier all day over Portis............happily admit I was wrong on that one. Another reason to trust Ainge!

Larkin was very helpful during that time when we were playing all those games. May have been the difference in one. He didn't play much in the last two because we were rested and playing more like a playoff rotation, esp vs cavs of course.
To me he looks a lot better than some guys 3rd string pg's like, say, DJ Augustine.

Portis has been looking better this year I'm not so sure there was a wrong or right decision. Other than the stupid punch he through he's looks like he's going to be a solid player I don't trust Ainge but his drafting stills seems to be getting better.

Not sure who even made that remark and I care less. 3rd string pgs don't excite me much but Larkin is one of the better ones. He does play a little better D than I expected this was always his week area.
