Honestly, I wouldn't hate to see them take both Bender and Korkmaz. Neither are quite ready, but could be cornerstones in the future according to scouts. Both can shoot from outside, especially Korkmaz, which would fit Stevens' system to a t.

Bender (PF/C) Korkmaz (SG) or Prince (SF) Zizic or Qi (C) D Murray (PG/SG) or Maker (PF) Hammons or Onuaku (C) Bentil (PF)D Hamilton (SG/SF) or Siakam (PF) Bolomboy (PF)

That's a impressive list of some promising players. I would love that draft and would like to see Sully Amir and at least one guard gone in the process. The slow route is certainly less of a gamble. Ainge and Stevens havn't indicated once however this is the path they will choose. Last year they had high expectations destroyed by a poor Hawks team. I hope the playoffs open some eyes to just how much we need.

Hopefully he'll have a new approach after taking a quick seat against a meh team.

As far as the Hawks being a "meh team"...are they title contenders? No. But nobody here thought the Celtics were...even though some saw through green colored glasses a potential run there if they got hot. The Hawks were a really bad match-up for the C's, and having Bradley go down didn't help matters at all.

At least two would have to play overseas - maybe they could locate Marcus Thornton while they're there!!

If we failed to get either of those then I'd take Maker (ahead of the Lakers) ... I only see Bender, Hammons & Bentil staying stateside of those 8. Korkmaz & Zizic could easily spend another year, maybe two in Europe and Murray, Hamilton & Bolomboy are just too raw and not close to ready so either D-League or overseas.

Well, there is still a problem or two. We can only have 15 on our roster, counting the players we send to the D-League. Also, they player has to be willing to play overseas. Have any of these kids indicated such? Last I heard Bender, Korkmaz and Zizic all wanted to play in the NBA this year. We don't want any Dario Sarics do we?

There could be plenty of open roster spots if Amir isn't traded and DA opts out to save $12MM (unless he thinks a deadline deal is doable). With both Sully & Zeller as RFA's, any offers for them above DA's maginot line will see them go. Young could be cut in favor of a new SF or SG if he's not included in a trade. We could easily have 3-4 D&S picks in 2nd round or even 1st rd guys like Maker. Bender would be groomed here, Korkmaz would stay in Europe for at least 1 year and yeah, Zizic wants to come but that could be open to negotiation if DA likes him and he's available when we pick. Qi wants to come but there's questions now about his true age (understated) so he may not be in the mix now. Guys like Pappagiannis and Cornelie may not have any choice is drafted mid-late 2nd round.

Second round picks can do whatever, but I don't want any first round picks overseas...........
