I did, and I'm not surprised that Obama picked MJ, were you? Haha ... "But I have to protect us from doing something irrational, from doing something that gets us a little bit better. If it’s something that gets us to being a true championship contender faster, we’re all for it. As long as it’s a sustainable formula and not a one-year quick hit, sacrificing future assets,” he [DA] said. Maybe he learned something from last years near trade with MJ ... Hope so! Conley & Dwight Howard? Meh ... But at least he recognizes the need for a true PG and Center.

www.csnne.com/video/blakely-celtics-being-aggressive-shopping-no-3-pick?guid=Draft&t=76Blakely insists they are pushing hard for a star but how do we beat the assets that a team like the T-Wolves have to offer for Butler other than more picks? If we can't get KD, Butler, Cousins or George in a trade, according to him the C's have three options; 1) Pick Brown who he says the C's have already decided upon (doubtful they made up their minds this early) 2) take a 2nd tier star like Chandler Parsons (a few injuries already) 3) trade down to 4 or 6 and get a future pick (2017?) and take a player they like at 4 or 6 like Hield, Brown or Chriss Seems to me that the best option (if Noel or Okafor are off the table) would be to do the third option ... a twofer! The fact that they have seemed to stop talking about centers is starting to worry me ... maybe you are right about Howard!

If they could get a trade back just a few spots and get an extra first rounder next season I'd be all for it. I like Bender and Hield, and Murray is growing on me. Brown is an athletic kid, and Chriss has a ton of potential. I don't think there's really a wrong answer there, nor is there a cream of that crop. If they can get a pick which could be in the lottery again next season, I'm all for it.
As far as Howard...he's only going to come into the fold if he buys in. One of the big issues he had in Houston this season was that he was upset they didn't want to use him as much in the offensive game as he thought they should. This is going to be a similar issue in Boston. They're going to want him for his defense and for mop up duty on the boards. He's not going to have sets called for him outside of specific matchup games like the ones Zeller went off in this season. If Howard signs with the Celtics, it's because they've convinced him that that's a good idea for him.

another possible trade option that hasn't been talked about much yet, is Brads old college star Hayward.
next year will be the last year of his deal (player option the next season), the Jazz have Hood, Burks and Ingles left as wings.
I could see a deal with either Crowder or Bradley and the #3 pick for Hayward and the #12 pick being a possibility.
Just another name to throw in the mix

My new order, not that anyone cares: Brown Murray Bender Heild
For the record, I'm okay with Howard.........probably in the minority on this one. Imagine trading for Love and getting Howard. Two double double machines in our frontcourt.

Just another name to throw in the mix I would love Hayward, but every article I have read says Utah is actually looking to TRADE the #12 pick because the players they like are all in the 20 range. I proposed trading 16 and 23 for 12.........then doing something with 12 (Love?)

First Draft Express, then Fox Sports- that's TWO mocks predicting we'll pick Chriss!! (couple that with Stevens and DA flying to CA on Monday to individually work him out, after Zarren* and Lewin* already flew to CA for his pro day on June 3rd, I think it's pretty obvious who's penciled in at 3 on the Celtics big board) **These are the two guys who Steven Kyler (Basketball Insiders) hinted about to Gary Tanguay regarding DA's affection for Chriss "loves the guy".
I think keeping Chriss makes the most sense, but I'd be shocked if we don't wind up trading the pick for Okafor.

A playmaking forward who can help shoulder the scoring load would be an ideal addition for Boston. Chandler Parsons, Nicolas Batum, Ryan Anderson, and Pau Gasol are among the free agents who the team could consider.www.hoopsrumors.com/2016/06/offseason-outlook-boston-celtics-4.html

Parsons could make sense as a FA, if the Celtics trade for Okafor. the downside to Parsons is he will want more than the $16M he will be giving up with his player option. $18-20M seems like a but much for Parsons, but you never know.

Do we put any money into Parsons type guy, if we have hope of Durant this year or next or some of the other great free agent class next year ?

A mock negotiation between DA and GF for Butler ... Is there any real shot to make a deal here? ESPN.com's Celtics reporter Chris Forsberg and Bulls reporter Nick Friedell huddled to ponder the possibilities.
Friedell: Boston has some pieces that would interest them or any other team. What about Jae Crowder, Avery Bradley, this year's No. 3 pick, and next year's Brooklyn pick (Boston holds the right to swap spots with the Nets)? I can hear Boston fans cringing and screaming from here. But I think this is where the discussion would get serious for the Bulls.
Forsberg: That's a hefty haul and some Celtics fans will suggest that it's too much of a ransom to pay for a player whose production only marginally exceeds one of the outgoing players in Crowder. Don't misinterpret: Crowder has a long way to go to be on Butler's level, but adding in the value of those two Brooklyn picks and the fact that Bradley is an All-Defensive first-teamer and established starter and it's just too much.
But I'm not running from the table. If I'm Boston, I'd counter by pulling Crowder but adding more picks (Nos. 16 and 23 this year do anything for you?) and a young player (maybe someone like 2015 first-round pick James Young, who is still only 20 years old and simply hasn't been able to make an impact in Boston yet). espn.go.com/blog/boston/celtics/post/_/id/4723312/lets-make-a-deal-could-celtics-pry-jimmy-butler-from-bullsForsberg seems awfully generous ... 2016 #3, 2017 1st (BRKLN), Bradley (Butler replaces him), Young (Take my wife, please!), this years #16 & #23 !!! Ya mean to tell me that Bradley, Young and two 1st round picks isn't enough? ![???](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/huh.png)

I like butler, but this year and next years nets pick for him? pass. the nets are going to be atrocious next year, it could be the first overall pick. I would give Bradley, young, #3 and #16 this year. Bradley is not Butler but he is a pretty good player signed to a very friendly contract. If they wanted to throw in hunter or rozier I would do that too.
