We signed Whiteside and made the picks at 3 for Murry/Held/Bender and #16 for Sabonis. Trade our pk and a high 2nd for a 1st in 2017 top 3 or 5 protected to a team that could slip next yr. Keep acquiring assets and adding talent at the same time. It is also crucial to let Sully, Turner, and for sure Zeller ( Amir too maybe ) walk to allow these kids ( Smart & Rozier need to have the ball in their hands instead of Turner imo )

If I had a short list of players that I hope we don't draft SABONIS would be on it. Sabonis, at best, is a poor man's Tyler Hansborough. He lacks length and can't stretch the floor. This draft would be a flop if we picked Sabonis at 16.

I love the Whiteside idea...........but I'm kind of hoping that Deyonta Davis or Kormaz is there at 16.

He'll be able to stretch the floor in the not to distant future. He in no way is T.H, more like bill Laimbeer imo. You can't teach tenacity. You're born with it. He is loaded with ' I hate to lose " . We need bigs like that

Sabonis clearly has a much higher bball IQ than Psycho T. They both played tenacious ball. A player like Laimbeer could be a borderline all-star and 3rd/4th best player on a contender in the 1980's, but probably not now. In 2016 such a player is a 5th starter or very good role guy/6th man. A tough player who wants to win and comes up big in big games. I could see a Taj Gibson, Tristan Thompson, Mo Speights, post surgery David West, etc. guys like that. I would take Sabonis at #23, but not 16th. And preferably if Simmons/Ingram are our first choice and a draft and stash guy like Korkmaz or Luwawu is taken 16th.

Korkmaz isn't a Draft & Stash pick ... he's a near NBA ready talent.
Sabonis being there at 23 would be a gift but if not Maker as a backup plan?

This team , if it can't trade for a true all-star talent good enough to draw another top FA like Cousins or Durant, still needs to vastly increase it's overall talent, especially it's shooting and frontcourt rebounding and defense. They have plenty of draft choices this season to get something done. Time for DA to do it.

Talent upgrade is needed across the board over the next few yrs with the hopes of getting lucky and hitting on a few. Sully missed. Goodbye. Zeller. Career back up. See ya. Amir. Getting old. Adios. Turner. Maxed out and no more upside. Go make some money. Young. I don't know what to tell ya but you haven't seen the floor in 2 yrs. Goodbye. Time to flush and rinse. Bring in 5 more and lets hope to find a player or 2 this time. Next year, same thing.

Sabonis ate Poetl's lunch went they played. Love the guy - good genes! I'd take him. It bothers me a little, though, when some of these guys are invited to workouts, and choose not to go......I hated Laimbeer's very guts, but I still would have taken him on my team. Sign me up for this kid at 16. Maker at 23, Sabonis or Davis at 16........and can't comment on our first pick, because I don't know the number yet. Ingram is my #1 choice, though.

MINNESOTA, PHILLY AND THE LAKERS HAVE MUCH BETTER FUTURES!!! Nah, it aint hard. Shoot, Butler was pick 30. Greene 2nd round, Leonard was what, 17th. It takes being good and lucky. The more guys you can run through every yr increases your odds. Right now we got 5 guys that look like they can be top 8 players on a playoff team. IT, Bradley, Smart, Oly, and Crowder. Thats a start. We have the 3 guys from last yr and 3 or 4 more this yr. of that group. We need to find a couple of top 3/4 players and it will take time. Jimmy Butler took a few yrs, Greene a few also. In 3 yrs those 5 guys I mentioned will be reaching or right in the middle of their prime yrs as players. These young guys from last and this yr could and should be developing themselves. Im psyched about the next 5 yrs.

With all the picks we have Id give our Philly 2nd and 16 to move up a couple spots to make sure I got him. He will be a HUGE glue guy who will be a major force in 3 yrs. If they pass on him at 16 if he is there I would be shocked. I don't see him being there though. The gene's thing is bigger than people know and his make up is 2nd to none in this draft.

I'm hoping DA can actually pull something off and bring somebody in here with that Nets pick and maybe a few other picks and THEN lure someone like Durant here in FA. I don't think he's thinking of an entire new retooling of the team and I don't think the fan base wants to wait forever either.

Boston is well ahead of Philly & Lakers but maybe not Minny though they will take some time with all their youth until they add some quality veterans rather than veteran mentors. If the taunting doesn't earn you a time out the caps will!

Does anyone think that, in the below article, DA is hinting that he's interested in Hassan Whiteside? Wants "a shot-blocking specialist" and "doesn't mind paying extra". Amir Johnson is history if the C's can't land Demar Derozan. www.masslive.com/celtics/index.ssf/2016/05/boston_celtics_rumors_2016_dan_4.htmlI think DA will eventually go for broke, and try and pair Cousins with Durant. After that fails, I wouldn't mind if he tries to pair Derozan with Whiteside.

If one is Ingram/Simmons - I won't be as disappointed.

If this team was ready to compete but needed a solid big for depth for about 12 mins / game, I think Amir would be a good option. Seems like a good guy to me and I hope he gets a job somewhere....I think he can still help a team in the right situation. But this isnt the place. The only bigs on this team I really care about right now are Jerebko and Mickey.

Oly isnt even a big. He's just a very tall catch and shoot guy who doesnt rebound or play D.

As a general rule, I avoid tournament darlings. i dont want a guy who who moved up 10-15 draft spots based on 2-3 good games. That's just too small of a sample for a player to move up that much, IMO. I'd probably pass on Sabonis for this reason. But take that with a grain of salt, I dont watch that much NCAA outside of my Friars. I do watch most Friars games. Which brings me to my next point: pass on Dunn. He's just not elite at really anything.

Smart, Bradley, Durant, Johnson and Whiteside can defend AND score A bench of IT, (Hield??), Crowder, Jerebko and OLY can defend AND score. And even if we substitute in Turner for Hield, that is a great bench!! ECF Finals!

Then trade for a wing (Butler?) and with IT we'd have a formidable PG, SG and C ... That could help attract Durant.

Realistically though we will be "LUCKY" to have any one of them come true. I believe that the most realistic of the 3 is to show up at Whiteside's door at 12:01 with BS,DA AND IT and a big fat max offer. I don't believe that the bulls are going to trade Butler. They"ll shop him but in the end they"ll keep him imo. The C's would have to offer Crowder, #3,#16, the 2 future Net pks to get their attention. Would you do that deal ? Give me Whiteside & #3 & #16 to this young team and just keep improving and adding and upgrading the talent over the next couple of years.
