Hey kids!...Go Celtics!...
Just left a couple of comments on the last game thread about Holliday...and Mazz...
KY and DaCeltics were theorizing that Brown will be traded if we don't win the title this year, something I have talked about...but then it was said that Mazz would be fired...I had to laugh, but I think Mazz is here for a while...

We are not playing like a championship team.
We cannot rebound. We will not win a championship if we rebound like this.
And we definitely won't win getting NOTHING from White and Holiday.
Don't understand why these guys take so long to get engaged offensively.

I think the same of Brown ... Everyone is safe until summer of 26' then Holiday could be moved or even Porzingis if he becomes too injury prone.

I think guys have been told to prioritize staying healthy over winning these finals handful of games. I'm not looking for Championship play in these inconsequential games. Just stay loose, in condition and don't get hurt!
Besides, don't we want the Knicks to displace the Bucks from the #2 Seed? I do!

You can do all these things and play with effort. You can prioritize health over winning and still grab a defensive rebound. Missing 9 straight 3-pointers isn't about playing to stay healthy. Why are our best players on the court playing if they're gonna go half-ass? Staying healthy has nothing to do with Tatum and Brown shooting 2 for 10 from 3-point range. I just don't see that we'll just flip a switch and rebound defensively and start hitting our 3-pointers just because the playoffs start.

I'm celebrating what the bench has done, an area that has garnered most of the criticism on this forum, cutting the 31pt deficit by 15 or more since taking over. Hauser & Pritchard have been great Svi chipping in w/ 2-3 threes. It's 116-107 as I type! Bench cut 22pts off that 31.
Some positive vibes here beyond the starter indifference ...

Cole ... Will OKC take it to the Bucks tomorrow or are they officially done like the C's?

My ideal scenario would be PHI getting the 6 seed. Then MIA would play IND, and ATL would play CHI.
MIA would beat IND, giving them the 7 seed, and they play MIL.
We would then probably play IND.............then CLE or ORL.
See what I did there? We won't get MIL or MIA or PHI until the ECF!!

White still remains under contract for one more at a team-friendly number ($19.6 million) but the two sides already had extension negotiations last summer and are likely to do so again this offseason. The fair question is now whether there is enough money left for White a long-term deal after the new Holiday pact. Naturally, there’s less urgency for Boston to get a deal done with Derrick White right away given his contract situation versus Holiday (who could have become a free agent this summer). However, it’s clear that White’s market value should only be going up after a breakout year in Boston as he enters his prime. If White is holding out for max earnings, it’s fair to wonder whether even the max extension Boston can offer him is enough to lock him in. – via Booth Newspapers Free Agency, Derrick White, Boston Celtics
Ultimately, the looming question here are going to be settled by Derrick White’s priorities. A team-friendly extension would certainly get done this offseason if he’s open to it but would he be willing to take it if there’s a possibility he could be dealt down the road during a luxury tax crunch looming ahead of the 2025-26 season. Only Boston’s ownership knows what type of payroll they will be able to handle at that point just as super max deals kick in for Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown. – via Booth Newspapers Derrick White, Jaylen Brown, Jayson Tatum, Boston Celtics

I just read that we can offer White 4/122
He can get more (probabaly) on the open market, but he's very happy here, and that is a lot of money.
He'll go up from 19-30 (11) while he phase out Al (9.5). I think we have Bird Rights on Tillman, and Springer is extension eligible this summer also.
It will cost, but I think Wyc is committed to spending and winning........

So little is settled with just 2 games to go. We could be playing the Magic, the Pacers, the Sixers, the Heat, the Hawks, the Bulls, or maybe even Cleveland in the 1st round! So much for controlling your own destiny!!

Springer is over paid next year at $4M, to my thinking. he would have step up next season BIG time to get any type of extension. yes the better play for White now is to become FA, not to leave but just because he can get a bigger deal than instead of that $122M extension.
