Across the Potomac from me in PG county MD. He shows up here every couple days i can see him on the online users. He's been reading the posts. I'f i was to venture why he might be pissed.. Same as me Mazz is a figurehead not a real coach. Why do Brown and Tatum take bad threes.?. Mazz and Stevens encourage it that has always been the case.. Zinger shoots too many stays out of the paint way too much.. Critical thinking here gets lost with the cheerleading squad...... Some folks have slanted views.. No i'm not singling you out just sayin . They shot just as many under Ime's coaching!

Best game of the season for JB! Both offensively and defensively! Pritchard had another very good game, he really pushes the pace when he's on the floor! Al also had a strong game today! I'm starting to really like our bench! California here we come!!

NBCSB just did a segment w/ Forsberg and he says this year's team is not totally reliant on three point shooting - live & die by it in the playoffs. Now they have found that they can go inside (and score whenever they want according to JB) so when POs come they won't be so dependent on 3's.

Titans could use him on the OL I think
I figured they cut him cuz he wasn't staying in shape then read this:
... the Grizzlies needed to create a roster spot with Ja Morant nearing a return from his 25-game suspension; that’s expected to occur Tuesday vs. New Orleans. Lofton won’t be traveling on the team’s two-game road trip, which starts Monday in Oklahoma City.
Two different reports from the past week indicated that Lofton was the most likely player to be cut. When Morant was placed on the suspended list following the fifth game of the season, the Grizzlies signed Bismack Biyombo, and they’ll reportedly be keeping him around for now.
Lofton, a second-year forward/center, was promoted from a two-way deal to a standard contract near the end of the 2022/23 season.
The 21-year-old had an opportunity to earn minutes in the frontcourt this season, with Steven Adams and Brandon Clarke sidelined with long-term injuries, plus Xavier Tillman missing extended time. But he was unable to establish himself as a consistent contributor this fall, averaging just 2.6 points per game on 37.8% shooting in 15 appearances (6.6 MPG).
Lofton has two years left on his contract after this season, but both are non-guaranteed. That means if he clears waivers, the Grizzlies will only be on the hook for his ’23/24 salary, which is $1,719,864.
... Lofton is expected to draw interest from rival teams due to his ability to score. He averaged a double-double for the Memphis Hustle (the Grizzlies’ G League affiliate) last season, winning G League Rookie of the Year in the process.

Sorry, we have to let you go:
Former Kings NBA G League player Chance Comanche faces an open murder charge in Las Vegas, according to a press release from the Las Vegas Metro police department, James Ham of The Kings Beat tweets. Comanche, who had been playing for the Kings‘ G League affiliate in Stockton, was released by the team on Friday. He was arrested by the California FBI Criminal Apprehension Team in Sacramento on Friday as a person of interest in the case. Comanche’s girlfriend, Sakari Hamden, was arrested in Las Vegas on Wednesday on kidnapping charges. Comanche was also charged with kidnapping and is pending extradition to Nevada. The case involved the Dec. 5 disappearance of Marayna Rodgers. Her remains were discovered in a desert area in Henderson, Nevada “based on information obtained after the arrest of Hamden and Comanche,” according to the release. Detectives determined that Hayden and Comanche “were responsible for the murder of Rodgers.” Charges against them will be amended to open murder.
RIP:
Eric Montross, who played eight NBA seasons after starring at North Carolina, has died at age 52, reports Louis Fernandez of WRAL Sports.
Montross’s family announced his passing this morning, stating they are “grateful for the tremendous support and the truly overwhelming love expressed by so many people as he battled with his signature determination and grace.” Montross began treatments for cancer in March.
A seven-foot center, Montross was selected by the Celtics with the ninth pick in the 1994 draft. He was a second-team All-Rookie selection after averaging 10.0 points and 7.3 rebounds in his first season, but was only in Boston for two years before being traded to Dallas. He also spent time with the Nets, Sixers, Pistons and Raptors before his NBA career ended after the 2001/02 season.
Montross played for the Tar Heels from 1990-94 under Hall of Fame coach Dean Smith. He was the starting center on the 1993 NCAA championship team and earned first-team All-ACC and Final Four all-tournament recognition.
He worked 18 seasons as an analyst for the Tar Heel Sports Network before stepping away earlier this year.
Another one bites the dust:
DeMarcus Cousins has reached an agreement to join the Taiwan Beer Leopards, according to Focus Taiwan. The team announced the signing in a press release, calling his addition a significant move for all of Taiwanese basketball.
“We’re confident that with [Cousins’s] all-around skills, he’ll bring a totally new chemistry to the Leopards,” CEO Johnny Chang said.
Cousins is expected to join the team midway through next month and will play his first game on January 20, roughly halfway through the team’s T1 League schedule.
The four-time All-Star center told his new fans that he’s “excited to come over and put on a show for you” in a video on the team’s Facebook page.
Cousins, 33, last played in the NBA during the 2021/22 season, appearing in a combined 48 games with Milwaukee and Denver. He signed with the Guaynabo Mets of Puerto Rico in April, hoping it would help him return to the league. He reportedly turned down an opportunity to play in Taiwan last fall.
The Leopards, who have been aggressively pursuing former NBA players, also signed Dwight Howard last season. They are currently second in the five-team T1 League at 5-4.

Analyst bearish on Boston Celtics trade target's attributes
One analyst was bearish on most of the attributes of a reported Boston Celtics trade target.
By Andrew Hughes |
Dallas Basketball's Grant Afseth, while speaking from the Mavs perspective, expressed little enthusiasm to what Isaiah Stewart brings to the table as a potential addition. Stewart was linked to the Boston Celtics by The Athletic's James L. Edwards III (subscription required) along with Dallas and the OKC Thunder.
Stewart is more of an enforcer than he is a stat sheet-stuffer. In truth, the Detroit Pistons' price is too high for Boston to consider, but at a more reasonable price, anyone should want the kind of physicality and sheer lack of fear Stewart has on the floor.
Isaiah Stewart's price tag not worth pursuit for Boston Celtics given current frontcourt options
Stewart would be more of a luxury than a necessity for the Celtics as things stand currently. When the postseason swings around, Kristaps Porzingis, Al Horford, and even Jayson Tatum will get pretty much all the minutes at the 5. Even in the regular season, though, Boston has enough frontcourt firepower to avoid giving up any assets barring injury.
Neemias Queta has flashed potential as a high-energy, low-minutes contributor, while Lamar Stevens proved to be an effective fill-in starter at the 5 against the Orlando Magic; scoring eight points in 14 minutes.
Again, if the price falls for Stewart, Brad Stevens and Co. need to play ball with the Pistons' front office. As things stand, though, there are far better trade targets out there to cede assets and go all in for.

saddened to read about Montross. his career never really gained traction here, but he was always a good guy, hard worker. team always got an honest days work from him. RIP
