The Quarter Finals aka the Knockout Round starts tonight with 4 teams and concludes tomorrow night with the other 4 teams that qualified for the tournament.
The Pacers are the 2 seed and the C's the 3 ... The Pacers have been on a tear of late scoring on average 145 pts per game. Their high rate of scoring is credited to their guard, Haliburton who is lightning fast. So for the C's defense to slow them down someone will have to stay in front of Haliburton and be in his grill when he opts to shoot. Are either Holiday or White quick enough or will Pritchard be called upon to help? Banton's long arms and length could help as well.
Part of me says we wrecked them already, we can do it again! But, this is a different team with Haliburton and I'm sincerely starting to worry that this game is at risk. Not that a loss this early to the regular season record means much but there's a sense of declaration & pride in beating an upcoming opponent and moving on to the semi's as well as the finals if this team truly is championship driven.

You may be right unless they change their report today ...
Three key players including two starters were listed by the Pacers on the team’s injury report for Monday’s tilt including All-Star guard Tyrese Haliburton. The point guard missed Saturday’s game against the Heat with a knee injury and is listed as questionable due to an upper respiratory infection. Obi Toppin is also questionable after suffering a left ankle sprain in the Pacers win over the Heat. Jalen Smith has been ruled out with a left knee bone bruise.
Questionables have a way of being "Available" come game time so we won't know for sure until minutes or hours before the game.

That would more than offset us missing Porgie! If this was chess, we could afford to keep swapping pieces for a while.

A win tonight earns each player (max roster of 15) $50K If they win the Semi's they each get another $50K for a total $100K Advancing from the EC Finals gets them another $100K for a total of $200K If they get the Championship each player earns an additional $300K for a total take of $500K
The cash prizes won’t be as big for the two-way players or assistant coaches but they will still be significant. Two-way players get 50 percent of the prize money for each round for each player which is a tremendous amount considering the salary for a two-way player this season is $559,000. Joe Mazzulla will get the same prize money as his players for every round his team wins while his assistant coaches will divide up a 75 percent share of the prize pool for each round. For example, they would divide up an additional $37,500 among the team’s staff if Boston wins tonight.
That backdrop should create some serious incentives across the board for the eight remaining teams when knockout play kicks off with the Celtics-Pacers matchup. [Everyone except Pud!]
