IDK either but lets go deep down the rabbit hole. The 76ERs are better without Embiid? Say what? Shams Charania @shamscharania Philadelphia 76ers’ Joel Embiid has won the 2022-23 NBA MVP award. They should just use him differently. When I first saw him at KU I told my dad he had something like kareem. Just because he can shoot ok doesn't mean you have to turn him into a guard. I still believe in the kareem/shaq model of passing out of the post. Anyway, he shouldn't be facing up every-other play and neither should Giannis. The league falls in love with this 7ft guard thing and it rarely works out. Ben simmons for example. Agree 100% . Doc Rivers might have pulled the wool over Mazz last night but he's not a good coach..

The guys here that want Mazzulla replaced should root for the Celts to lose Game 2 and the series.
Only way Joe gets fired is if the Cs fail this season and next season.
Celtics will not fire Joe this year, whether Cs get to the finals or not, because it would give the impression that the Cs didn't give Joe a fair shake.
Next season will be Joe's make or break season.
If Joe still doesn't end up making the Cs win a chip, Joe will be replaced and the Cs will have a new head coach for the 2024-25 season.
It's just laughable how some of the posters here don't believe in the coach and the Jays and yet they want the Cs to win a championship this year.
The Celtics are who they are.
What the Celtics were in the regular season are what the Celtics are right now.
Nothing magical happened one week after the regular season ended.

I could have told you the two problems before the season started:
weak at center rookie head coach
seems like these could have been addressed. it's not like this is a throwaway season

We all know who said that it was better if the Celtics lost in the previous round. Only one person here was in favor of that. Now that's laughable. And to try to twist it and make others advocate for such thing only shows that you are trying to hide it.

It is never a throwaway season. Specially after reaching this point. Fierce wanted out in the first round. Geez.

Always calling me a non believer. When I have been critical. I might not be in love with Tatum like he is but I surely know his shortcomings, where he excels and where he could do better. So the whole shit of calling me non believer or not a fan is pissing me off. And of you Cole can't see that is really annoying.

are you the "some posters?" if so I didn't realize, sorry. "Some" is plural, so it's more than 1 poster. What you expect from someone who said many times he's gonna leave but never left for even 1 minute. That's the problem with some people today, the words don't match their actions.

For the record, there are at least 3 Celtic fans here who Jaylen would consider toxic.
Also, it's common sense, if you think Joe is no good and the Jays are not capable of leading the team to a championship, why expect them to win a chip this year?

Take the case of Darvin Ham and the Lakers.
Before the trade deadline, Darvin was more spam than ham.
The Lakers were looking like a lottery team and going to miss the playoffs, before the trade deadline.
But after the Lakers got, D-Lo, Rui, Vando, and Beasley, the Lakers are now suddenly looking like contenders and Darvin is smelling like freshly baked ham!
Joe Mazzulla didn't throw the ball to Maxey, it was Brogdon.
Celts were still leading 1 point with 32 seconds remaining.
But Brogdon made a stupid mistake by not shooting the ball and passing it to an opposing player, Maxey.
Even if Brogdon took the shot and missed, the Celts were still leading by 1 point and would have gotten the last possession of the game.
Darvin Ham is also a rookie head coach.
The difference is Lebron and AD are just making Ham look good.
All a team needs is an average coach if the team has great players.
The players make the coach, not the other way around.
Right now the Miami Heat are looking so good because of great coaching.
But do you guys really believe the Miami Heat are going to be champs this year?
It's the players, stupid!

So it's not Spools it's the players even sans Butler?
So I take it that you think the Heat players are better than the Knicks and would prefer to play NY in the ECF if we are so lucky to get that far?
I think we don't match up well vs the NYK bigs of Robinson and Randle. Their guards will keep ours on their heels.
I'll take a 3-pt shootout vs the Heat with a beat up Butler and a few more games on their legs than the C's.

Cameron Tabatabaie: Celtics announce Marcus Smart is QUESTIONABLE for Wednesday’s Game 2 with a chest contusion – via Twitter CTabatabaie Top Rumors, Injuries, Marcus Smart, Boston Celtics
That may work to our advantage, forcing Mazz to use White more and even Payton some. Should also see some Grant in more of a small ball scheme as well.

If Herro is healthy then I don't want the Heat facing the Celtics in the playoffs. But since Herro is injured, Cs have a bigger chance of advancing to the finals against Miami. That is if the Celtics can eliminate the Sixers. What I'm saying is even if the Heat miraculously make the finals, no way they win the chip no matter how good Spo's coaching is. Even with Butler, the Heat are lacking in talent to be a championship team.

No way Smart is missing Game 2. So don't expect to see PP play and only way Grant gets more minutes is if Embiid is playing Game 2.

THEN, there's this: The NBA’s L2M report said that James Harden should’ve been called for a foul for inadvertently tripping Jayson Tatum on this drive. This miss let Harden get out in transition and kick it to Maxey, who got a 3 point play that flipped the game in crunch time.
1:56: Missed defensive 3-second violation on Paul Reed
1:48: Missed foul call for Jayson Tatum as he drove for a layup. James Harden stepped into Tatum’s path on the play and tripped him, which should have led to a foul.
This was a crucial play since the 76ers took advantage of a 5-on-4 situation since Tatum fell after he was tripped. Tyrese Maxey took advantage in transition as he attacked an undermanned Boston defense and drew a foul on Marcus Smart while making a layup. The potential five-point swing turned what could have been a six-point Celtics lead into a one-point 76ers deficit with 1:37 remaining.
0:39: Missed defensive 3-second violation on Jayson Tatum
One more controversial call was confirmed in the report as Tyrese Maxey’s steal of a Malcolm Brogdon pass was confirmed to happen with 33 seconds left a split second before the 24 seconds expired on the shot clock. Maxey ultimately scored a go-ahead basket on a turnover.

Still haven't seen or heard anything about his running/conditioning ...
UPDATE: After initially announcing “I’m back”, Joel Embiid states that a return for Sixers-Celtics Game 2 remains “a possibility” but not yet a foregone conclusion.

In the old days, Red might put this guy on Embiid to make him wish he were still rehabbing.
