Check out this comparison between Poeltl and Plumlee ... they are practically the same player!
Hard pass on both. If you dont have defensive versatility. Your a slow hips, gonna get picked on, slow footed, drop Center.

Any drop Center making worth more than 6M/yr is a bad contract. These are all Kanters.

the Z. Collins deal is interesting, the only downside is the guys injury history is twice as bad as Timelords!
Trading Grant and Jackson for him along with making the 2028 pick not a swap but fully SAs' would likely get it done.
Have to make another deal to replace Grant then , IMO.
and most fans seem to be wanting a wing also.
Stevens would still have Gallo and Pritchard's salary's, as well as that TPE and some seconds to try to get something of value.

I still think my Vanderbilt or Smith into the TPE (with a first going out) and getting someone like Bey for Pritchard a second or two, while keeping grant for now is the most bang for the buck.
Gallo stays in this case and if nothing else can be some insurance against Grant getting an offer Boston does not want to match. I think they WILL match any offer he gets to use as a possible trade piece down the line later myself. BUt if he walks, they can still use next season MLE to try to find a vet replacement.
one more day!

Meaning he's more defensively versatile then half the league (not sure if its at the position or overall). But regardless, you can survive with him switched onto a forward. Plumlee and Poetl are at the very very bottom of defensive versatility. Meaning all they can do is stand under the basket w their hands up. Why not just get Tacko back? In addition, Smith is in the 85th percentile in rim protection. Meaning when somneone goes to the rim when he is defending, the fg% of the opposing player is significantly less than that players usual finish % at the rim. In fact, this gap is better than 85% of players. Poeltl's in the 70th percentage in rim protection, and Plumlee 60th percentile. Which isnt as good. So Poeltl/Plumlee are not as quality rim protectors as Smith, plus unlike Smith, thats all they can do defensively. So unlike Smith, they do 1 thing defensively. And they arent even as good as Smith at that one thing. Oh, and Smith is far cheaper. I see why Dee wanted him out of the draft and KDP wants him now.

Agreed, both are too slow for the C's. But with so many Poeltl fans I wanted to point out that Plumlee was the better option given that Poeltl would just be a rental.
I like Z Collins best, then Mo Bama followed by Reid and most likely Nerlens Noel ... Grant for Collins or Bama?
I'd include guys like PJ Washington, Vanderbilt, Achiuwa, Anunoby etal but I consider them PF's or PF/C's ... Gallo or PP for PJ, Vandi or Achiuwa?
For offense: TPE and Picks for any of J McDaniels, S Bey, B Brown Jr, Tate, Bates-Diop, Knox or maybe C Reddish

Ask those Poeltl fans if they will help pay for the 25 to 30 mil he wants for 4 or 5 years.. WYC ain't
Reid is better than Mo IMO.
Fuckin Stevens has us on hold a trade or trades should have been done long ago.
Smith and Reid both are needed. Trade Grant Lurch and PP throw in some 2nd picks and its done.
Theis back makes Smith just more available..
Drew is right i want two bigs on the floor at times unlike him but only one drop back center.

Yeah ... cross Poeltl off the list.
Reid seems small ... more a Grant replacement than a rim protector no? I thought I read that the Pacers would want too much for Smith than C's would be willing to give up. Who's your drop back center?

Reid or Plumlee are my preferred choices at center! Reid is 6'9" with a wingspan of over 7 ft. no worries there! I would try and trade Grant for PJ Washington, and be done with it!

Who's your drop back center? Reid is small but he covers the PF/ C combo i suppose with Rob playing 20 minutes.. Smith is geting less and less minutes. Maybe he hurt? Grant will fetch him straight up he's also small but can play both positions I didn't coin the term'' drop back'' center ask Drew..... I'll say'' lob only'' center.. That would be Rwill No jumpshot no hook? I'm trying hard to meet Drew halfway here but i want two bigs one PF one Center. Tatum and Grant don't cut the PF position so Drew and i can't never be in full agreement.

It means that they start at the free throw line, and then drop back to cover the rim ,and really thats it. Cant guard guards or forwards at all. Dont have the lateral quickness. THey do all their defending at the rim.

generally, these players are also pretty much lob threats only on offense, because their whole game is pretty much be by the rim w your arms up.

If I call someone a drop center, it usually means a C w no defensive versatility. Cant cover on the perimeter. And even at the basket, a good slasher can still go right around them.
I can live w a C with a big mans only offensive game - meaning no touch (no hook shot, no mid range) - as long as they arent drop centers (defensively).
But my peeve is turnstiles (meaning not good at rotating their hips, low agility) and low foot speed players. These guys just can only defend at the rim and only when guys go right at them. Trey goes around Plumlee and Poeltl w ease. So their one job, defending the rim, they are even flawed at that. Thats why they are lower in CraftedNBAs rim protection score than more versatile centers like Jalen Smith.
To me, if you got slow hips and slow foot speed, I slap the Kanter label on you. Rob is a drop center, but he's as good as they come so I can live with him. Al (because of aging) is quickly becoming a drop center also. This year, his defensive metrics are way better when he's protecting the rim. Which is why I dont like them together (offensively it works cuz Al can play perimeter O, but not so much perimter D anymore). Kornet is a drop Center.
I prefer 0, we have 3. So the last thing I want is more.
Not to imply Rob and Al have no place on my team. I just dont like them together.

Kornet couldn't guard a kid from a candy store with a AK 47 What you have wrong.. Grant is slower than both. You can drive around him in a wheelchair. Also Tatum shows signs of playin defense at PF at times other times he's lost he's not our PF of the future and has no desire to be....

Every now and then I get notified that we've exceeded our limit on "attachments" and rather than buying additional space I'll go into the archives and do a cleanup (deleting old pics attached to posts of old threads) until I've added a couple of months of added space. I'm due to run out again soon and will need to delete more old stuff but I haven't gotten any notification yet so it must be on your end unless you are trying to attach some monster sized stuff that exceeds our allocated space.

I was just looking at Kelly and did a comparison to Mike Muscala (OKC) ... turns out Mike has better Offensive & Defensive ratings than Kelly. Check it out here:
