So tonight Scott Foster heads up the Ref Crew ... Oh boy! We get HCA and the NBA assigns a ref that won't let us retaliate. Expect to see a tight game called when it comes to bullying. The C's have probably geared up to play aggressive in your face on a night that that won't be tolerated by Scott Foster.
I hope Udoka feels it out in Q1 to see how much Foster will allow Green to get away with before releasing the wolves ... make that wolf!
at this writing, Rob is questionable but as always, expect that to change come game time:

NBA reveals interesting referee assignments for Celtics-Warriors Game 3 by Nick GossThe referees allowed both teams, but mostly the Golden State Warriors, to get away with a lot of physicality on defense in Game 2 of the 2022 NBA Finals on Sunday night.T Could we see a different type of officiating when the series shifts to TD Garden on Wednesday night when the Boston Celtics host the Warriors in Game 3? The NBA revealed the Game 3 referee assignments Wednesday morning. Scott Foster is the crew chief, and he'll be joined by David Guthrie and Courtney Kirkland. Why is this important? Well, if Game 2 was any indication, this is going to be a very physical series, especially when Warriors forward Draymond Green is on the court. Green upped his energy and physicality on defense in Game 2, and he went over the line in the first quarter and picked up a technical foul. He should have received another tech later in the second quarter after an incident with Celtics guard Jaylen Brown. But Green already had one technical, and the referees decided not to give him another, which would've resulted in ejection. Will the referees try to get control of Game 3 early and make it clear that same level of physicality won't be tolerated? It's worth asking, given the tendencies of the crew working Wednesday night. These three referees don't usually tolerate a lot of nonsense.

It is simply hard to believe that the Cs are having such an extraordinarily gratifying season and are somehow in the Finals.
And yet, there are those here and elsewhere too hell bent and determined to spin a lot of conspiracy horse sh!t so as to take the glitter off of the Celtic's achievements this season no matter if they prevail against GSW and win #18 or not.
How in the world can one claim to love the Celtics but yet hate the NBA so?
This sort of talk certainly does not appeal to what Abe Lincoln called "our better angels"... and we should know better.
This talk is simply SICK!
And God in Heaven help us here in this forum if the Cs come up short.
The finger pointing, paranoia, cry-babying, contempt for opponents/enemies real and imagined, bed wetting and alienation will go thru the roof.
For God sake.... if you openly question and have serious doubt about the integrity of the NBA.... it is way past time for you to do yourself a huge favor and find another sport to support.
These Finals are not life and death, gents.
What happened on 1/6 at the Capitol, what happened in Uvalde and Buffalo, what's happening now in Ukraine IS life and death.
So get a F'N grip, stop whining and do something constructive to help those around you suffering and in need.
And GO NBA... and GO CELTICS.... WIN, LOSE or DRAW!

Any news was good news and the feelin' was bad at home I was out of my mind and you were on the phone Lonnie was the kingpin back in nineteen sixty-five I was singin' this song when Lonnie came alive
Bring back the Boston Rag Tell all your buddies that it ain't no drag Bring back the Boston Rag
You were Lady Bayside, there was nothing that I could do So I pointed my car down Seventh Avenue Lonnie swept the playroom, then he swallowed up all he found It was forty-eight hours till Lonnie came around
Bring back the Boston Rag Tell all your buddies that it ain't no drag (you gotta bring it on home) Bring back the Boston Rag
Bring back the Boston Rag Tell all your buddies that it ain't no drag Bring back the Boston Rag Tell all your buddies that it ain't no drag (you better bring it on home) Bring back the Boston Rag Tell all your buddies that it ain't no drag (bring it back, bring it back now) Bring back the Boston Rag Tell all your buddies that it ain't no drag (bring us on home) Bring back the Boston Rag Tell all your buddies that it ain't no drag

Tonight, we really need to play our best, most complete home game of the season. That's what it's going to take.
Everybody has to contribute. Everybody has to come out aggressive with their "A" game.
Tonight isn't about anything GSW. Tonight is all about the Celtics.
We need to go up by 5 and fight to get up by 15. If up by 15, play to get up by 30. We must have that mentality tonight - NO MERCY.
Let's Go Celtics!!

The Boston connection to Steely Dan was Skunk Baxter. He repaired guitars in a shop in Boston and did gigs with different bands. In this video (below) he mentions playing with Ultimate Spinach. Short story ... My son worked for a guy in Hyannis on Cape Cod who was into muscle cars and racing. He had a show room in Hyannis for car sales both old and new including exotics. Out in the burbs where I lived he had a repair shop where my son helped out after school. My son insists I meet this guy so into Hyannis I go and that day there was a car carrier box truck loaded with Lambo's and Ferrari's. We talked about Bill's time with Ultimate Spinach and checked out his 57' Chevy gasser as well as a 409 Chevy coupe in the showroom. Then it was time to see the car carrier off and we talked with the guard who would be ghosting the trailer out to the west coast to make sure it wasn't stolen. Guy shows us his enforcer for the trip - a 44 magnum and asks if I'd like to handle it. Of course I'm curious after Dirty Harry and the overall size of the barrel so I say sure ... man was that thing heavy! I fretted about having my prints on a weapon for some time after all I didn't know this guy from Adam but nothing ever came of it. Anyway, here's the interview with Skunk Baxter ... now remember, when I play Steely Dan it's not just because they're my favorite Band but because of their Boston roots as well.

Cole you familiar with Big Al Anderson? That tune I posted last game (No Good to Cry) was written, played & sung by Big Al. He was from CT and that song was a big hit in CT & MA but never made it nationally. He went on to be the longest active member of NRBQ and retired as a songwriter to Nashville. Here he is with NRBQ:
His original band The Wildweeds from around 1968:

They sucked! Part of the SF influence they tried to develop on the east coast with bands like the Spinach, Orpeous and Beason Street Union but the Bosstown Sound "Ultimately" failed as did the "Spinach." en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ultimate_Spinach

Pud Pud, love you like a brother, but if you don't think the referees influence the game you are not paying attention...perhaps the referees pretend to not notice what their job is, but the NBA selects crews to ref certain games knowing how these crews call it... as Cole said earlier, not rigged, but influenced...

I actually have met Big Al, Joey Spampinato and Terry Adams a few times. I've seen NRBQ about 30 times in concert. They are awesome!! Joey is the brother of Johnny Spampinato, of the Incredible Casuals, a very good friend of mine. I used to go to the Beachcomber every Sunday to hear the Casuals play, and even sang with them on stage a number of times (not very well, but such fun!!). My song was Get Off My Cloud by the Stones, not a huge range there, so I was able to pull it off. Al got tired of touring and left the band some years ago to focus on his songwriting. I believe he has written several Top 10 country songs for other artists. Love the Beachcomber!!

All roads lead to Cape Cod (Beachcomber) ... Haha! I saw Al in Waterbury CT at the Armory ... the Weeds did Sargent Pepper better than the Beatles ... great giutarists and as Cole said, a great set of pipes as well.
Then maybe 8 yrs later my college buddy & I went to Bunratty's in Boston and NRBQ was there with the brass section. Big Al the frontman and the place was wild ... sitting at the bar when a hash pipe comes our way ... anything goes in those days at Bunratty's.
