Remember this ... Tatum doesn't usually bounce back right away after stinker games like he had Saturday. Expect it to take him a few games before order is restored. That means we look to Brown, Grant, Al, Marcus and Derrick to pick up the slack.

For the Celts to have a bigger chance of beating the Bucks, White has to be productive.

Bucks GM Jon Horst complains about officiating that went Celtics way in Game 3
By Brian Robb
The Celtics were the most vocal team about their issues with officiating in the direct aftermath of their Game 3 loss to the Bucks on Saturday. However, in a rare move, Milwaukee Bucks general manager Jon Horst went public with his team’s displeasure with the discrepancy in whistles in an interview with Eric Nehm of the Athletic just hours before Game 4 matchup on Monday night. The Celtics had a 34-17 edge in free throw attempts for the contest, including a 17-0 advantage over the final 17 minutes of the game, much to the displeasure of Horst. “When you start looking at the numbers, it’s just, it’s pretty outrageous,” Horst said. “And I think our players and Boston’s players just deserve to have it be addressed and have it be looked at and to just have some improvement…That wasn’t a quality playoff basketball game, and I think officiating played a role in that.” Horst went on to point out several statistical anomalies that did not go Milwaukee’s way when it came to officiating, including the fact that Jrue Holiday took 30 shots and did not get a free throw attempt while two Celtics posted career-highs in FT attempts (Jaylen Brown, Derrick White) “To take 30 shots — which is great, I applaud Jrue for doing everything he could to help our team win yesterday, and he felt like he needed to be that assertive and that aggressive — but to have zero free-throw attempts, that stands out,” Horst said. The public reprimand of the officiating will create an intriguing atmosphere for Game 4 after both sides went on the offensive about calls that didn’t go their way.

Hmmm? Phx/Dal and Mia/Phil are both at 2-2. We need win tonight to be a 2-2 and Golden State is at 2-1 and I feel OK they lose to also be 2-2 as they go home and should win the series. Ya know, Giannis & Embiid are the 2 best Centers but I’d take 6-11 Jokic first.

Honestly he hasn't been effective since his return. Best to just get him right.

Theis will be more effective ... Rob hasn't had his usual ups as Cole (?) observed
Robert Williams III was a late scratch because of left knee soreness, which Boston coach Ime Udoka said was a “flare up.”
Udoka said Grant Williams will start in Rob Williams’ place. Rob Williams tore his meniscus on March 27, which required surgery. He was out for about a month before making his return in Game 3 against the Nets. But Williams hadn’t looked like his high-flying self since the injury.

How Boston Celtics will fill Robert Williams-sized hole in Game 4
By Souichi Terada | Brian Robb
Grant Williams will be in the starting five for the first time this postseason, starting next to Al Horford in Boston’s frontcourt. Elsewhere, Daniel Theis will also be handed a bigger role as the team’s primary big reserve off the bench. A closer look at the impact of Williams’ absence when it comes to Boston’s rotation. Grant Williams: The big man is already averaging 32.7 minutes in this series so he won’t see much more above that playing time workload as he enters a starting role. What this will change for Boston is taking away a rim runner in the starting five and replacing him with a stretch 3 presence. That should help Boston keep the floor spread against the Bucks defense but will pose a big challenge for Boston’s frontcourt in trying to keep Antetokounmpo and Brook Lopez off the offensive glass. Both guys will need to hold their ground defensively and get help from the likes of Jaylen Brown and Jayson Tatum in that area. Daniel Theis: The German center has been an afterthought in this series only playing six minutes in two games. However, his importance will be magnified now with reserve minutes available and the potential for a far bigger role if Al Horford or Williams fall into foul trouble. Williams suffered his torn meniscus in the March 27 win over the Timberwolves, which required surgery. While his initial timeline was about a 4-to-6 week period, Williams came back to the court in about 3.5 weeks in Game 3 against the Nets. Williams played in both Games 3 and 4 in the first-round series, but played just 26 combined minutes in the two games in Brooklyn. Udoka initially said he was cleared to play around the 24-minute mark each game, but Williams instead played more limited minutes. While the Celtics have started Williams in the first three games against the Bucks, his impact has been muted. He’s played 22, 25 and 23 minutes in those three contests and he hasn’t been quite the same high-flying and defensive force as he was during the regular season. But that’s natural after being thrust into the postseason with the month-long layoff rehabbing from surgery. www.masslive.com/celtics/2022/05/how-boston-celtics-will-fill-robert-williams-sized-hole-in-game-4-against-bucks.html
