Boston has All-Star ceiling if he pans out as originally expected by scouts ... Did Crooklyn work a trade and get Sharpe?

All sorts of trades between multiple teams but nothing from the C's after Austin caid they could try to move up or buy an additional pick.
I'm beginning to think that other GM's just don't want to deal with us after how Ainge fucked all of them around so much.
Everyone is cutting deals for future picks or 2nd rounders but we apparently can't get anyone to pick up the phone or stop hanging up!

I do a combined ranking of at least three websites from their top 100, this year I was late to the gate because we don't have a pick that really matters. anyhow, I used Draftnet, CBS sports and NBA scouting live top 100 ranked prospects. below is the players that when combined and averaged fell in the 40-60 range 40 PF Greg Brown 6-9 Texas 41 PF J. Robinson- Earl 6-9 Villanova 42 C Neemias Queta 7-0 Utah St 44 C Day'Ron Sharpe 6-10 N. Carolina 45 C Flip Petrusev 6-11 Serbia 46 SF Hubert Jones 6-7 Alabama 46 SG Aaron Henry 6-6 Michigan St 48 PG Jason Preston 6-4 Ohio 47 SF Joe Wieskamp 6-7 Iowa 49 PG Rokas Jokubaitis 6-4 Lithuania 50 PF Kessler Edwards 6-8 Pepperdine 51 PG Daishen Nix 6-4 US 52 SF isaiah Livers 6-7 Michigan 53 PG David Johnson 6-5 Louisville 54 SG Juhann Bergarin 6-5 Guadeloupe 55 PG David Duke 6-6 Providence 56 SG Austin Reaves 6-6 Oklahoma 57 PF RaiQuan Gray 6-8 Florida St 58 Sf Sam Hauser 6-8 Virginia 59 SF Aaron Wiggins 6-5 Maryland 60 PF Matthew Hurt 6-9 Duke So I see we drafted #54 from the list and signed #58 to a two way deal. Hauser will be in Boston way before the Frenchman I think, if I remember I read he was n't even playing at the top level in France. maybe he's two years from being two years away!!

Per CelticsLife.com: Fans seemed to want Cooper or Boston, but Brad Stevens went with the French draft-and-stash for his first draft selection ever.
It's funny but Cabby said something similar to me during the draft last night - why can't these GM's pick the obvious rather than looking for some obscure guy that nobody knows anything about?
It will be fun to see who's right, the fans or Brad who seemed to follow Danny's lead taking another young euro-league type that is obvious to be a draft & stash candidate for 1-2 years.
For the fans sake, let's hope Boston turns out to be another James Young and the 2021 draft will be forgotten ...

It would be cool for me if we got David Duke. His PC stats, and really his whole PC tenure, kind of doesnt tell the whole story because they played him at PG and he never played there before. Of course, was better at the position by the end of his college tenure then the beginning. Defensive minded, a lot like former PC PG Kris Dunn. Doesnt have Dunn's ability to get to his spot, but he's larger than Dunn. His offense was inconsistent, but he really caught fire some games. Uses his size well on both sides of the floor. IVe watched him closely for 3 years. One thing to keep in mind is that he played against a lot of top schools. Guarded guys like Marcus Howard, Saddiq Bey, Miles Powell.....Kept PC in a lot of games against much larger schools. Could do worse, I suppose. Shot still needs work but improved a lot in his time at PC so heading in the right direction. Could you imagine Che/Dee's reaction if we got Duke?! He would probably think the C's drafted the son of the notorious David Duke, giving him another rant to go off on... Its awkward as a Friars fan, to say to my buddy (also Friars fan) over drinks - I really like David Duke. HAHAHA. Gotta keep your voice down so you dont get in an awkward situation. "not that one. Not that one."

Well, I agree that at pick 45 name matters a lot (kidding). So if we are drafting for coolest name, the guy named Boston or the big Serb named Flip. I thought Sharife was a slip, but Im hearing there are character and work ethic concerns there. But we heard that about RWill (and even Corey Dillon, going back on the pats), even Sox Verdugo and sometimes those stigmas/bad reps are undeserved and unfair.
In either case, the more I read about the guy we did get the more I like him. Im a wingspan > height guy. So I LOVE to see a PG with long as-shit arms (7 foot wingspan is tatums wingspan). Love the speed and the natural athleticism. These are three things you cant teach. Wingspan, athleticism, speed.
So we got a guy with a lot of things (that you cant teach) going for him. Granted he's raw, needs to work on shot selection, shot mechanics, finishing moves, and defensive fundamentals. But these are things that you can teach. Raw prospect w high upside. Not bad at all for mid second rd. I declare myself: pleased.
I salivate at the wingspan, mobility, hops. Thats a good trio of unteachable assets. A great trio, really. Wont help for a few years, so patience is required.

Odds are we'll never see Berganin in a Celtics uniform! Wasted pick in my opinion! The good news is Yam and Moses Brown are playing in summer league, and it's like having two rookies to be excited about!!

Celtics sign Sam Hauser to Two-Way dealHauser is coming off a solid year with the Virginia CavaliersBy AdamTaylor

The Boston Celtics stood pat in this year's NBA Draft. The team used its 45th pick to select Juhann Begarin, and the Celtics managed to add a second rookie in the form of Sam Hauser from the undrafted ranks. The 6-foot-8 wing will reportedly join the team on a Two-Way contract for the upcoming season, sources told CelticsBlog’s Keith Smith.
Hauser comes out of college with considerable shooting pedigree, having flirted with a 50/40/90 stat line this past season for Virginia Cavaliers. Hauser ended his maiden season with the Cavaliers shooting 50.3% from the field, 41.7% from deep, and 89.6% from the free-throw line.
At 23-years-old, Hauser comes into the league as a player with limited room for developmental growth after spending four years in the collegiate ranks (technically five), the sharpshooter spent three years at Marquette before transferring to Virginia and redshirting the 2019-20 season.
Despite Hauser going undrafted, the forward was still garnering interest from multiple NBA teams, but he ultimately chose to accept the Celtics two-way offer and will be joining the team’s Summer League squad in the coming weeks. Interestingly, Hauser opted against a reported offer from the Miami Heat, who have a recent history in developing undrafted scoring talent such as former Celtic Max Strus and the impressive Kendrick Nunn and Duncan Robinson.
The Celtics two-way spots have recently belonged to diminutive point guard Tremont Waters and fan favorite big man Tacko Fall, and it remains to be seen if either of those players will be returning to the Celtics for a third consecutive two-way season.
Boston’s Summer League roster will now boast two intriguing prospects, with Hauser and Yam Madar both slated to make their professional debuts in Vegas with their first game scheduled for August 8th. Hauser will also be part of the inaugural season for the Celtics G-League affiliate since their rebrand to the Maine Celtics earlier this season.
Despite the limited opportunities afforded to two-way players on teams with contention hopes, Hauser’s ability to score off the dribble, and his quick release jumper, could mean he makes an impact as a floor stretching wing if and when he’s afforded playing time for the Celtics.

So how'd my picks do?1) Chris Duarte > despite projections in mid-twenties and hoping he fall into round 2, the Pacers selected Duarte with #13 ... Wow! 2) JT Thor > The Pistons took him at #37 but traded him to the Hornets (they had a great draft night!) The C's could have had him if they wanted to move up or buy another pick but didn't see any need for a young PF with a high ceiling. 3) Day'Ron Sharpe > He made the 1st round too and was selected by the Suns at #29 and traded to the dreaded Nets who have a need for rebounding and rim protection not unlike the Celtics but they acted on their long term needs now and took care of it. 4) Brandon Boston > #51 by Memphis ( traded to Clippers) - who wouldn't take a chance at #51 on a projected lottery pick with an all-star ceiling? The Celtics! 5) Jason Preston > #33 by Magic ( traded to Clippers) 6) Ayo Dosunmu > #38 by the Bulls
Note: 4 of my top 6 were traded to other teams from those that picked them ... the C's could have had any of them but Brad was afraid to take on too many rookies.
Honorable Mentions:Queta #39D Johnson #47Bassey #53 ( traded to Sixers, ugh!)
Potential Unsigned Draftees:
Delano Banton #46
Marcus Garrett > Undrafted signee by the Heat
David Duke > Undrafted signee by the Nets
Vrenz Bleijenbergh > Undrafted (so far)
Amiir Simms > Undraftee signee by the Knicks
