And Pritchard is great for a late-first rookie. Probably good for any rookie (if we took him 10 overall, id still be happy with his contributions). But hes not ready to be the third guy in a big 3 on a championship team.
We need another scorer. I dont know if Kemba is going to figure it out. But I really hope so. Otherwise, we need to bring one in. And we need our top assist guy back too. Thats what we need.

For a team that loves stockpiling guards, we have 1 playable guard when we are on teh back end of a back to back (Pritchard, cuz Kemba is out in this circumstance).
That's because Danny got Jeff as a blue plate special sans the dessert.

Teague looks really bad. We have three PGs who dont belong in the NBA let alone on the team. Edwards Waters and Teague. The Hawks don;t want Walker. No one does is my guess. Young is much better..

PETE..
Now that gets to my other point. I don't know what your issue is with Kemba even when he's not playing. che, you know better than anyone that Kemba is not an assist guy. Kemba is a scorer. THAT is what we brought him here for......not to lead the league in assists. And, mark my words, we will beat Atlanta tomorrow because Kemba will be playing and we'll have that 3rd scorer (not more assists).
My issue.. He can't play D or pass.. Got to have two of three
.He's a Jamal Crawford or Lou Williams nothing more who makes three times what they make.
If we lose to the Hawks again with or without Walker. We should go G;LEAGUE
We scored plenty last night.. Couldn't get stops..

There are a whole lot of NBA players who are not solid man-on-man defenders and, for his size, Kemba is one of them. He does play hard and throws his body in the mix to get charge calls. Against Washington, Beal was coming down court on a break, Kemba took the charge.....offensive foul. He goes that a lot because he's not going to make plays on defense. You won't see many other NBA players, at any position, do that.
Anyway, we just disagree on what he does and the fact that he's doing in Boston what he's done his whole career. Did Celtics fans really believe we'd get a different Kemba?
The 2021 Celtics have so many problems having nothing to do with Kemba Walker that it baffles me how many of our issues seem to come back to him.
We allowed 8 more points than we scored while giving up an efficient (very efficient) 40 points to Trae as well as all close to the rim baskets by Capella and Collins. I don't think we had many defensive breakdowns as we had against DET and WAS. But it can be better.
And I agree we should go G League if we lose to them tomorrow.

If the best we can do is Al Horford to get out from under Kemba then I would do Al Horford and George Hill for Kemba and Theis

You got me wrong buddy. You've never heard me say Kemba isn't tradeable so posting that Ainge tried to trade him doesn't mean anything. If Ainge is doing his job, he should be looking to trade him to upgrade the team. I'd trade him today for the right upgrades and wish him all the best. I'd trade the two J's for the right deal. Our hands aren't tied che. There is a deal out there but DA has to find it and be willing to possibly "lose" a trade to move on from Walker and put the team in a better place, short and long term. But there isn't a deal out there if DA has to "win it". I don't care much what Trae gets as long as the Celtics win.

Wasn't trying to put words in your mouth Pete,
I was just saying Ainge apparently thinks that Walker isn't a good fit here either.
Walker is not a bad player. He's not great either or worth 34 mil. Walker will get us more wins in the regular season. That does little for me..
Walker will get exposed in the playoffs . Teams will tighten their defense and go at him on offense when they need a bucket badly,
He'll score at will against the Hawks tomorrow and most sub 500 teams.. Guards like Thybulle will shut him down most nights,
I fully understand Ainge needs to lose for us to win.....

Ainge has acquired quite a few players lately who quickly weren't a good fit. Don't understand why sign a guy who isn't a good fit but you don't find that out until his 2nd year on the roster.
Something doesn't smell right. Just like Turner would not be a good fit but Teague and TT are good fits?
I don't get Ainge's end game. I wonder if he gets it?
By the way, apologies if I suggested you were putting words in my mouth. Didn't mean it that way brother.

I wonder what it would take for DA to realize that CBS may not be such a good fit, considering the type of talent that he has dropped in young Brad's lap?
Since Danny's bold 2007-8 Big Three success, a growing number of the league's other GMs seem to have passed him by.

Cannot argue with that Pud;.
I believe you really find out about a coach's ability over time. CBS is morphing into an average, run of the mill head coach.
And DA, he doesn't deal unless he's the clear winner and he therefore hesitates to pull the trigger.
He then has to save face with a deal to bring in guys like Teague and TT and publicize it like great veteran FA pickups.
NOT.

He was a good fit when we were coaching up the youngins. I'm starting to doubt he's the guy to put great talent together

I don't blame him for picking Teague up.
Nobody could have known that he had fallen off so badly.
Tristan is a good veteran who's great at rebounding and something we needed.
Tristan started off slowly because he was coming off of an injury, now he's looking very good.
I say we should have kept Terry Rozier but none of us knows how much he was a problem child that season.
We definitely know he went on ESPN and spilled the locker room beans.
If Terry Rozier was going to get in the way of the development of Jaylen and Jayson then Kemba was a no-brainer.
That being said. Some of these moves have not been extremely successful.
I wouldn't call them failures though.
You never know a player until you have them on your team and so we now see the flaws in some of these players.
Now the question is whether we can live with these flaws or not.

I can see us winning a championship with Horford, Tatum, and Brown more so than Kemba, Tatum, and Brown. Mostly because of how good Horford becomes every postseason. It would be no differnet. Just make sure he's healthy and rested. Manage his minutes. Playoff Al is an f'ing beast. Regular season Al is not.

Bring Al back and manage him. Game deciding minutes only. Get to the playoffs before you unleash him. Easily 15 ots, 9 boards , 7 assists. But Kemba makes the opposition box+1, and thats very important for postseason. LOL the starting 5 we need is Smart, Kemba, JB, Tatum, Al
Im not surprised. Too f'ing bad Al cant fit in the TPE. Maybe a buyout is an option there?

If ya count Hayward we've made three mistakes on signing expesive FAs. I'll let Horford pass..
Poor track record.
This all started with the three point craze and going small a few years back.. That has proved unattainable for any team other than Golden State..
Ainge and Stevens are in the ''Regroup Stage'' neither want to acknowledge their efforts to assemble a team was deeply flawed..
There's enough blame to go around for both.. Stevens is young and was new to the NBA Ainge has no excuse..

Off the top of your head what would you say is the average size of championship point guard?
Curry 6'3 Kyrie 6'3 Billups 6'3 Parker 6'2 Rondo 6'1 Kaldwell-pope 6'5 Chalmers -6'2 Fisher- 6'1 Kidd- 6'5 Harper- 6'6 Smith- 6'3 Paxson- 6'2 Johnson- 6'9 Thomas- 6'1 D.J.- 6'4 Cheeks- 6'1
Nobody in the last 40+ or so years under 6'1 in the starting lineup of a champion.
Kemba Walker 6'0
