Im not sure if I responded, but I did not agree with Hedley's initial comment that they have better players. When I read it, I thought to myself that a) we had sizable leads in both games, b) Brad was outcoached in the final 2 games c) we got sloppy (turnovers) and settled for bad shots at certain points in both games.
I never thought the Heat had better individual players. However, to be fair, Hedley said "right now." Thats important. Because Dragic is not as good as he looked in games 1 and 2. I know because he's been in the league forever and in games 1 and 2 was clearly playing above his norm. He was a good player, on a hot streak, and therefore looked better than he was. So to say "Dragic is great" - would be incorrect. But to say "Dragic is great right now" - well thats harder to argue with.
Also, when he said right now - that also was when we didnt have Hayward.
Also, when he said "right now" - that was after Kemba had 2 terrible games. So he was cold. And Tatum was playing well on the boards, but he wasnt being super aggressive on offense (just talking about games 1 and 2).
So did I believe that the Heat were a better team when Hed made that comment - no. But were they a better team at that exact moment in time? (Dragic was red hot and playing above his norm, Kemba was playing terribly, and Tatum wasnt playing to his best, we didnt have Hayward, our bench didnt look dangerous) - So you could argue yes. But Kemba snapped out of it, Gordon came back, adn some heat players cooled off.

As said, I disagreed with the comment when Hed made it. If he had said "they are playing better individually, right now" - I would have agreed. If he said they have "better players period" - I would have disagreed. He said a hybrid "they have better players right now." I would have phrased it a little differently to "their players are playing better, right now." But I didnt want to split hairs.
But they dont have better players - anyone who thinks otherwise is not giving Smart enough credit. Over the last 2 seasons, he's gotten much better - he's a different player now then he was in 2018.

Butler and Tatum are close to a wash Bam and Jaylen are close to a wash Smart and Kemba are better than anyone else they have. It just didnt appear that ways in games 1 and 2, cuz Kemba was ice cold and Dragic and Herro were red hot.

It's not like he heat organization hasn't had plenty of success since Pat came. That said, it's a lot easier to recruit to miami or LA than it is minnesota, so you have to factor that in.

They still have a deeper bench. But we are now 6 deep and solid. Opinions can also change. I was very pissed because we were down 0-2, and blew leads late. I can get pissed at my team, can I not? Isn't that the job of a fan............. ? Certainly I hope we win tonight, and every other game we play. But, for those TWO games, they were better than us............Certainly didn't want to cause such an uproar

I think it's still being determined which team has the better players! I said at the start, that our starting 5 was better than their starting 5! That's what I think, it doesn't mean that I'm right, it's what I think! And once we got down 0 and 2, I may have started thinking I was wrong, I said if Hayward can't come back, we're gonna lose! This one's still being played out, folks!! Oh yeah, just heard Tony Brothers was reffing tonight's game!

Nugs should be up 2-1. They need to even the series. But, so do we. Big game tonight. I want a wire to wire win, and deflate them a little bit Wouldn't it be nice if the Celts won via buzzer beater? Don’t know if this old man is up to a nip and tuck battle. Of course it would tick them off if we got a buzzer beater but I’d prefer a cushy 15 pt lead entering the 4th & a 20 pt lead with a min to go.

If the game comes down to the wire - its essentially a coin flip. I dont want to bank on a coin flip.
