Seems to me that if the series goes more than 5 games that Petey is right ... TOR will have been a handful. Fierce has a history of moving the goalposts. From a sweep or 5 games in the C's favor to suddenly 4-2 in six games either team winning is not what he predicted. Petey wins already as we are going 6 games no matter what ... I clearly stated numerous times that the best case scenario is a sweep and the worst case scenario is Toronto winning 2 games. chrisjey is the one who predicted Celts in 5 games. I never said anything about the Celts winning in 5 games.

And for the record, Pete said it's going 7 games. Pete even made a thread about winning 2 out of 3. So if the Celts win in 6 games then Pete is wrong. Check the Game 1 thread of this series. I clearly stated that Toronto will not be a problem even if they win 2 games against the Celts. The only way I will be wrong is if this series goes 7 games. What's worse is after a devastating Game 3 loss, the Celts could end up the one losing in 6 games. I don't think the Celts can force a Game 7 if the Celts lose Game 5.

I'll offer you a deal, Pete. If this series reaches Game 7 then I will gladly admit that you were right and I was wrong. But if this series doesn't reach a Game 7 then you admit that I was right and you were wrong. Deal? Fierce, this is a BostonHomeCourt posting page. I don't want to make a deal with you on here. I'm sorry but I don't take this stuff that seriously because WE ARE NOT PLAYING THE GAMES OR GETTING PAID. Again, our debate was not the number of games, it was your prediction that the Celtics would have no problem with Toronto.Like I said from the beginning, this is going to be a tough series. I felt it would go 7 but, honestly, I just want the Celtics to win 4 games.I couldn't care less about a made basket with 0.5 seconds left in game 3. The bottom line is the Celtics are having huge problems with Toronto. And, as for game 2, let's not act like we blew them out decidedly. We've had 4 good round two playoff games against the defending champs. That's all that is going on right now and I anticipate 3 more tough ones to come with the Celtics getting 2 of those wins. There, that's what Pete said.

That's because the way I view it, Toronto is only going to be a problem if the Celts will need a Game 7 to beat them. Even before the series started I already told you that it's either going to be 4-2 or 4-0 in favor of the Celts. That's my interpretation of what's going to be a problem or not. Wining in 6 games means the Celts are clearly the better team. That's why I don't think Toronto will be a problem. The problem with you is you can't put your money where your mouth is. It's a simple admission of being right or wrong and you can't even do that? Fierce, neither of us are right or wrong. We are posting WHAT WE THINK. The Celtics winning in 6 games doesn't mean you are right. It means you "guessed" right. My saying the Celtics will have trouble with Toronto, in my opinion, isn't a cut and dry prediction. I would have been surprised had the Celtics swept Toronto. I would have given you your props on that! Coming in, I believed the Celtics were the better team but it's looking more and more like Toronto is our equal, if not the better team. In game two, we stole a win by THREE POINTS by dropping 32 points in the 4th quarter with, get this, MARCUS SMART knocking down 5 3-pointers in that huge 4th quarter. Honestly, if I'm Toronto, I'm not worrying about the Celtics beating us, over a 7 game series, if MARCUS SMART has to knock down 5 3-pointers in the 4th quarter. We were fortunate to win game two buoyed by a 32 - 21 4th quarter advantage. Being the better team means nothing IF YOU DON'T PLAY LIKE THE BETTER TEAM. If that's the case then why did you say I don't know what talking about? You followed that up by saying I'm thinking too small. Your subtle attacks are very disrespectful. If you want respect then you should also respect others.

One more thing! Why does Dee only show up when we lose? Oh geez...Dont get Fierce going on that topic again... It's BS if we're expected to believe that the only time Pete can post here is if the Celts lose. Pete said he has a life, he has obligations, etc. So when the Celts win he has a life and if the Celts lose that's the only time he's free? I find that hard to believe.

I cannot wait for game 5 tomorrow. I sure hope the Celtics come with a little more intensity than they've shown in the past two games.

FIRECE ATTENDANCE ALERT: I plan to be driving home from the beach tomorrow, possibly around game time, so if I'm not posting, that's the reason.
So everyone knows why I'm offline if I'm not posting tomorrow.
FIERCE, please approve??

I doubt that the Celtics will lose.
However, if they happen to let one slip tomorrow, when I do return, I'll expect to see your admission that you were WRONG.
By the way, I (we) have hijacked this thread enough with this back and forth. I won't be responding to any more of your posts.
FULL STOP!

Since Pete is not man enough to accept my deal and resorts to go "weasel mode", to all those who think I started all this, I will gladly admit to being wrong if the series reaches a Game 7.
There's just no way this series is going 7.
Before the miracle shot in Game 3, best case scenario for Toronto was to win 2 games against the Celts.
After that miracle shot, I still think this series will only last 6 games, but it's either the Celts advance or the Celts lose 4 straight to Toronto.

You guys make me the bad guy on this one.
But when quagmire and elvis do their thing, it's like I'm the only adult in the room.
Pete resorted to subtle personal attacks against me.
That's why I'm reacting this way.
If you want respect you give respect.

LOL! Lively out here.
Have been checking in here off and on. Tough series. Hope the Celts pull it off.
Winning game 3 would have felt like DeJaVu for the Raptors just that last year, it was game 7 vs. Sixers.

I put elvis on ignore and it works awesome! Apologies if any prior back and forth between us got as annoying as this has.
Haven't noticed any outlandish personal attacks on either side.
Agree, we should all be able to disagree without being disrespectful.
Now back to the Celtics! I predict we win game five 111-92. We will struggle early with Kemba and JB both trying to do to much to atone for their past performance, but it will click in the 2nd half and we pull away. This will allow us to pull some starters early to rest up for game 6.

Yes, I agree there should be no personal attacks. What Pete did was subtle. In one of the game threads I said Toronto would not be a problem and best case scenario is the Celts win 4-0 or worst case scenario the Celts win 4-2. I said the Celts are the better team and they have size advantage over Toronto because Lowry and VV are midgets. Out of the blue Pete replied to my post and said I don't know what I'm talking about. That's a subtle personal attack. Before that, I never had any back and forth with Pete.

I think that the Raptors are a grittier team than Boston and Celts are more skilled. So this is a toss up without Hayward. Last year’s championship run will make the Raptors believe in themselves. I will not be surprised if it goes 7. Since you ask for absolute opinions, my guess on odds is 70% that it goes 7. I hope it does nor.

Its better to move on to the next game without bets. Hopefully we win. I am getting nervous by the way we are playing and the fact that hayward wont play this series
